I actually really like Nick, but there's literally nothing special about his shot here. Thiem hits a drop shot that sat up about 6 feet and Nick almost nonchalantly came forward to hit a backhand cross-court pass. It was mostly an error from Dominic more than anything (which the commentators talked about near the end of that replay).

Yeah it was a pretty terrible drop shot by Thiem really. A lot of these are kinda mediocre passing shots, and they definitely missed the Medvedev one, so I’m guessing they missed a lot of better passing shots

@@GodTennis Roger. One of my favourite slice BH passing shot by Roger was from his 2011 RG match against Stan. But I do agree with you, Rafa has a better passing shot than anyone on the tour.
