This ENTIRE SHOW needs to be remastered digitally and add all the extras, rehearsals, etc. and all that footage that didn't make it on the air, and put them on a nice DVD package =)
The quality of this 5 part footage has already been remastered - it already sounds like it is in HD and it has angles of the broadcast I never saw before (though it also features the commercials). But, you are right, if the rehearsals and outtakes are available or, at least, interviews with Diana Ross, Cindy Birdsong and Otis Williams or other crew members, that would be a nice addition to a DVD package!
, I remember this special I was 10 years old boy how time is fly. The Supremes were fine beautiful women and The Temptations for five tall talented young men. Boy do I miss those days when you had acts that could sing and Entertain You no auto-tune just pure raw talent and act and above all they didn't have to take their clothes off.
You know whatever guy Diana was looking at when she said "... and there's nothing I can do about it" got a big thrill and bragged about it to his friends for years afterwards.
Diana did receive huge accolades for this special. This special is the reason Diana Ross got so much more television and later film work. This special was groundbreaking! The first time in television history an all Black cast led a primetime TV special. 'Diana Ross and The Supremes' were a commercial juggernaut by 1968-70 .... and got only bigger and more lucrative after Flo left.
@@dtrn254 Did she get an Emmy nomination for this? I know the answer. I know this opened other doors for her, and others. I just feel she has been underappreciated for her talents. Yes she soared after Flo was rightfully discarded
@@anthonyyusef5897 I absolutely get your point about a lack of deserved recognition for Diana and The Supremes. No doubt! 👍... But just to clarify The Emmy analogy is just factually misplaced. Emmy awards for Prime-Time music television specials (or even Outstanding Individual music performances) were not generally recognized by The Emmys in 1968. For example, Elvis Presley also did not receive an Emmy for his glorified come back in 1968. The early stages of the Emmys focused on categories for serial television productions. When you look it up, it wasn't until the 70's the Emmy categories expanded to recognize music television specials and their individual music performers.
i could agree with David Ruffin since he was a strong lead, but Flo was a background singer. What Cindy did in this special is all Flo would've done. This was about Diana by this time
'Diana Ross and The Supremes' with Cindy were a better and more polished group than the original lineup with Flo. Flo was sluggish and a bit awkward. Cindy was smooth and in the pocket, better for television. This special is perfect as it is... The entire cast performed their butts off! And Diana... She emerged like a butterfly.
@@brandonmartin9570 I believe The Andantes (Jackie Hicks, Marlene Barrow, and Louvain Demps) were a bit sharper on background recordings than Mary and Flo. They presented more of the quintessential 'Motown sound'. With live shows, Cindy was naturally more fluid than Flo inside of the staging (height, proportion and movement).

Where can one order a copy of TCB with DIANE ROSS and the SUPREMES WITH THE TEMPTATIONS.
Times were so much better back then. Not only were the artists truly talented but they also had class unlike anything we see today
Beautiful Motown Special Remember this well on TV. 🎉

Now I see where Micheal Jackson go that little gulp of air thing he does later on.

Chilosopher-Someday (Diana Ross Remix)
Eddie Kendricks 😘🥰
I guarantee you, there was no crime on that day in the 'hood cause everyone was watching this show!
Diana should've received great accolades for this special. She showed there was no one like her at Motown or in the R&B world.

Why did they not use The Funk Brothers.David's presence alone would have been a blessing.
David's fault! I bet he had many regrets?!
Both Dave Ruffin and Florence Ballard probably watched this wishing they were there, the show was spectacular.
Funk Brothers were used in the studio.
Women and Men dressed up in smart clothes not like the singers of today.
That stage is cool and all, but I'd 20/10 accidentally fall off on live television.
just watching this for the first time, there were no vcr's in 1968 and I worked the afternoon shift this was great and will live on forever
So winderful!!
Would of been better with Flo and David.. just my opinion 🕶️🕶️

I'm so 😁 happy Diane is no longer a supreme. Temptations must be glad tooooo. So bossy.
