      I own a Grand Seiko and it's a great watch BUT I can't sell it for more than I purchased from the AD. That's what you can do with a Rolex.

      @@paulvon2378i assume they meant better as in, better as a watch; not as an investment to make money from?

    Thank you for this inside look at Grand Seiko's craftmanship. I would like to suggest that you add the reference numbers for all of the watches shown in this video. Specifically, what is the reference number for the blue dial watch at 8:32? It is a stunning watch!

    A Seiko 5. is the best Seiko because I am a Rolex man that hides behind my knock around Seiko 5. 😞

    I have an 9SA5 powered GS and accuracy is not the right choice of wording. Sorry

    Engineering is a 9.5. Finishing is a 9.5. Craftsmanship is 9.5. Styling is either unimaginative or imitative -5. Hire a cutting edge stylist and put as much attention to detail and quality in the bracelets and straps as you do the dials and cases. Now you no longer have to make videos on why GS should be more prized. Also take a lesson from the Japanese auto makers. They never thought to call Lexus, Grand Toyota or Acura, Grand Honda,etc. The Kodo Constant force Tourbillion should be the standard for the brand not the pinnacle. Then they join Lange as the best non Swiss watches in the world. Just my humble opinion.

      IMO grand Seiko has already abandoned its core value by making that tourbillon piece. The core value is “readability”

    A view from the UK. Where do i start? Seiko is a "High Street Brand". Grand Seiko are notthe only watches that are "hand made", ALL Seiko watches are hand made, or assembled. To think that Seiko is trying to promote a "hand made" watch is laughable. Just think about what Seiko is trying to convey to you the customer. Do you fall for it? IT IS A HIGH STREET BRAND, like Timex. They cannot get away from this, no matter how hard they try. Just in case you have forgotten Seiko, the spring drive is a quartz watch with a battery, please do not forget this.

      Its not even close to being a battery, and your comment just shows that you don't understand the technology. Quite sad.

      I own two quartz watches (A Grand Seiko and Tag Heuer) and both are great. Grand Seiko is separate from Seiko. It's like Toyota and Lexus or Audi and VW

      @@DeeJaysWord So what is the "accumulator" they show in the many diagrams that are out there? And how does the watch keep going when not on the wrist?

    • @phildo864
      @phildo864 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@robertstancer4469did you ever find the answer? The Spring Drive watch has a conventional mainspring and gear train that keeps the watch going when not on the wrist. There is no battery or capacitor/accumulator. I can link to a video explaining how it works if that sounds interesting?
