In my imagination it could have been this film (although its music was in fact written by Ennio Morricone): Stay as You Are (Italian: Così come sei), also known as Stay the Way You Are, is a 1978 erotic drama film, directed by Alberto Lattuada, starring Nastassja Kinski, Marcello Mastroianni, Barbara De Rossi, and Ania Pieroni.[1] An Italian-Spanish co-production, it follows the May-December romance between a vivacious young coed and a middle-aged professional who is unhappy in his marriage. I have vivid (and warm) memories how in that year my teenage brain was first intoxicated by Rodrigo's Spanish masterpiece and then the movie stills of young Nastassia totally would take my breath away. In hindsight maybe not the greatest picture but try to find it on YT and have a plunge into the 70's cool European style.
It is astonishing that Akkerman manages to restrain his natural urge to burn through these pieces because he is an amazingly virtuosic player. But he is musical enough to know when his playing needs to be at the service of the music, as in this case. Yes, I've played a solo classical guitar version of this Adagio many times back in my gigging days. So beautiful. Thanks, Harry.
Siempre❤
Beautiful!
Indeed. Love that Spanish flavor with those rich chords.
This sounds like music from a interesting and cool European movie. i enjoyed it.
Yep, very Spanish. From perhaps Spain's greatest composer, Joaquín Rodrigo. Glad you liked it!

I have one album by that guy I think it's a live one. Not one I listen to all the time but it is good. Peace
It is probably his Live album from Montreux in 1978. Good one, yep. Cheers, Rod. Jeff
Sounds good Jeff... has a little Carlos Santana flavour... Would this be the style of guitar work you’d play at weddings.. thanks.
