Was on the pct in Oregon and could hear a trail crew up ahead. I was expecting to see strapping young people, but it was a group of ladies in their 50's and 60s. I was so impressed! Wielding those saws...

Very cool. Thanks for the hard work to keep the trail open. I volunteer on the trails I run and backpack on to give back for the experiences I get to enjoy. It is nice to see these young people out there making a difference. Way to go!

Volunteered with the WTA years ago and started the PCT NoBo in March. I'm shocked at how bad it needs maintenance and now term it the Pacific Bushwhack Trail now. Good to see this team at work.

This is one use case where ultralight gear could’ve actually helped so much. If they can reduce their base weight to below 10 pounds, they’d probably be carrying 30 pounds including tools instead of 50-60 pounds. But it’s such an amazing thing they did..

Kudos should also go to those interns who left midseason. Any effort put into this type of backbreaking work would not be letting themselves down as they, at least, tried doing something that our present society isn't always physically cut out for even if they are a weekend backpacker.

Greetings from Bulgaria. We are doing similar work over here, developing a 150 km trail along the ridge of the Balkan mountains. Watching you guys made me think, couldn't you utilize some sort of transportation for you gear? Even donkeys would have been very useful
