    You have lovely habits. When you cut your wire off the spool, although you do not always explain to us why you do this, you use the flush side of the cutter and cut it from the spool, and then you immediately go to the end that began the spool and do another flush cut. With each successive tutorial from you, we are learning good habits from you. Thank you.

    Great tutorial!! I was smiling like the Cheshire Cat when you spoke about "tweaking," because I absolutely love to watch you "tweak" wire. It's amazing. Any time I get ready to make something, I actually feel butterflies. Not sure why. Maybe the perfectionist in me establishes that I must get it right the first time? I forget...it's malleable. But, you remind me when I watch your vids. It's a sweet thing. Maybe someday I won't feel so intimidated by the wire. Thanks for sharing your artistry with us.

    Are you using half-hard silver? Do you anneal the metal? How do you make sure the metal won't lose its shape (from use, and/or from carelessness of the person who wears the jewelry)? I want to make these, but I'm afraid they'll be out of round after a few uses.

    Fantasia. Thank you very much. I am practicing practicing. Both gauges of wire. However my flush cutters are getting gouged with the 18 gauge. I like my Beadalon cutters the best and don’t want to ruin them. What is your recommendation for a good flush cutter for thicker gauge wires?

    • @FantasiaElegance
      @FantasiaElegance  4 года назад

      Hi Judith, thanks so much for watching! I love my Xuron Maxi Shear Flush cutters for thicker wires: amzn.to/2VSzAVl They have handled everything up to 12 gauge for me. Of course, if you're cutting memory wire or something super tough like stainless steel wire, you'll want something like this: amzn.to/2TsZhKD or you will ruin your flush cutters. I hope that helps!

    Hi. Thank you so much for sharing your skills & making such excellent tutorial videos... I just wanted to ask... Obviously it's your preference... However I'm just curious why you always choose dead soft as opposed to the half hard wire options... Wouldn't it be "easier" to not have to work harden the wire with hammering if you chose the half hard instead of the dead soft?
    I thank you for your time in this matter 😊
    Ziona.

    • @FantasiaElegance
      @FantasiaElegance  Год назад

      Thank you so much for watching! There are a couple reasons for using soft over half-hard. Biggest one is that it's a lot easier to put in the smooth bends that so many of my styles utilize with softer wire, especially for beginner wire workers. The other one for me is that I have a health condition which causes chronic joint and muscle pain and inflammation, so habitually working with wires that require much more grip strength and force to shape would not be good for me personally. But if you are fine working with half hard and can achieve what you want with it, then go for it!

    Thanks for another great tutorial. Is hammering with a nylon or rawhide hammer as effective as using a metal head hammer? I know I need to work garden the wire but I don't like flattening it out or putting marks on it.

    • @FantasiaElegance
      @FantasiaElegance  6 лет назад

      Sorry for the late reply! Using a metal hammer will result in the most flattening of the wire, and thus strengthen it the most, but using something like rawhide or nylon definitely does work harden it too, just not as much. I'd recommend experimenting and seeing if it works for you!

      Hi Lynda, thanks for watching! a 4x4x1 steel bench block is what I use, so you should be good. As far as hammers, I have a link to one example of the type to use in the video description, but here it is again: amzn.to/2Dh7vxQ Basically you want a "jeweler's chasing hammer"
