This has to be the best looking bag I've seen in a tutorial. The design is so nice. I'm going to have to get some Rewind tape yarn. Thank you for the visual as I'm not too versed in reading patterns. 😊💜🧶
This is beautiful! I’ve never used the ribbon yarn before. I have cotton so maybe I’ll use that. Can’t wait to try it. Thank you for making a simple pattern!
I remember making these as a kid, but with fabric. Mom knitted a couple as well. A nice simple Japanese design. There is a modified version for making a bento bag as well.
Just finishing this bag, made the mistake of sewing it together on my lap, the second side moved and could not get it back to how it should have been, had to unpick the completed side and start again. Then did it properly sitting at a table keeping it flat. Turned out lovely. And actually quite easy to do.
Omg thanks for the video! I’ve been trying to figure out the folding from the pattern and i couldn’t get it. Finally almost done. I did order some bag handles from Amazon to finish mine, i think some people are getting bags for Xmas. Thanks again
Oh my.... I love this... and fell completely out when you folded it.... I see many bags in all the colors!! lol thank you... and I’ll be sure to give all the credit .. this is really cool....
l loved this bag!!! I´m trying to make it, I have had understood that I always have to have 150hdc, but I didn´t understand how many rows do I need to have. Maybe can you tell me the measurements of the rectangle, please? So I have a better idea of how to make it and easier for me to understand.
Hello Lynn! Yes, it should still all work out as long as the yarn is the same weight. To be sure, as long as you have a 1x3 rectangle when you're finished (you can always add or subtract rows if you have to) it'll fold up nicely.
I can't read patterns so I'm a have to wing this with your tutorial Edit: I'm in a panic state... But just a rectangle (3:1) and fold... I got this. Maybe. Totally. Hopefully Edit: took me like 2 whole days to make the rectangle, it was way too big (120 wide, so I cropped both edges, now it's OK) I ran out of yarn so I used a different colour. Issa mood. Now I'm making the handle and I think I'll dye the whole piece grey (my yarn is brown)
Hi Ana! Hmmm . . I'm not very familiar with macrame cords but I think it's worth a try (I'm sure it would be beautiful)! The key is to just make sure you have a 1x3 rectangle when you're done so that the folds line up. ; )
@@lakesideloops4327 I plan on making one for me and one for my mom for our upcoming trip to Europe. I think they will pack well. 😊 Thank you for a wonderful pattern!
jackie blake Yes! I would actually do a swatch and compare it with the pattern gauge...the ‘Rewind Tape’ yarn that I used says it’s bulky but actually seemed closer to worsted to me. Also this bag is BIG so even if yours turns out a little smaller I think it’ll still be roomy. I hope that helps! ❤️
Oh! And another idea is to forgo the pattern instructions (chain length) and simply make a rectangle that is the same finished size that mine was using however many stitches and rows are necessary with your worsted yarn...you can find the exact measurements of my rectangle within the pattern (just before the folding instructions). Hope that helps (and makes sense)!
Hi, I have just bought your Spencer bag pattern, however I couldn't find the video tutorial for it. Is there any way to get the video tutorial for Spencer bag, please? I'm very new to crocheting and would really like a video guidance to work through the pattern :) hope you can help me out. Thanks
I'm thinking of doing this bag in acrylic too..thought of using two strands together to make it stronger and also different colours to make it stand out..also thinking of lining it before joining together, it would be much easier to do when it's flat..
Okay, you keep saying there is a free written pattern...but I've been on both websites and can't find it!!! I need to know the stitch count and row count please
Hi there, I am trying to make a rectangle Hand bag, butI am struggling to make it even, I don’t know why. Could you please send me the exactly measurement for it please. Kind regards. Elsa ❤
I’m having the same exact issue!!!! And I’m meant to be hosting a crochet class where we are all doing this pattern but am confused on the exact same thing! Were you able to figure it out? If so, please share!
Hey! So I’ve figured out how this pattern works. You only HDC in the 3rd chain on row 1, then HDC until the end of row 1, then chain up 2. Row 2 and beyond, you HDC in all of the stitches, not starting in 3rd on the chain but the first stitch. Although you will technically have 152 stitches on each row, you only count 150. The first and last stitch (basically both of the chain up 2’s) are like parenthesis and the 150 stitches you count are within those parenthesis. Does that make sense? Anyway, let me know if it doesn’t, it took me awhile to sort this all out so I’ll help in anyway I can. You got this!
Hi Tamara! Yes, the exact measurement of my finished rectangle are within the pattern (I can't seem to pull it up right now) but as long as the rectangle is 3x1 you're all set.
I'm so happy to read that! Thank YOU! Yes, they're from Fringe Supply Co. (fringesupplyco.com/collections/tools-supplies/products/mini-scissors) . . very cute indeed!
This is very lovely and I can't wait to try it out. But it was a bit confusing in the beginning as you did not state wether or not you were using US or UK terms. While I could immediately see that you were doing half-trebles it still might be nicer to specify which terminology you are using for those like me who learned crocheting with UK terms. :)
Brii Vulon thank you for pointing that out!! It’s not something I’d thought about and will make sure to watch for in future videos. You can also find that info within the written pattern as well as detailed descriptions of each stitch I use. Thanks again for the note - I appreciate it! ❤️
Hello Brii! Thank you for taking the time to write about this . . it's not something I'd ever considered before (I think because it's covered in the written instructions) but it's something I'll certainly include in future videos! Appreciate the tip! Hope you enjoyed the pattern! :)
Hi! There’s a group of us who are starting this pattern this Friday and since I’m meant to be the most knowledgeable one (scary!) I need to understand the 2 chains and then the 150 HDC. Do we chain up 2, then HDC in the 3rd stitch from the hook? I am so confused on this one step but desperately need to know so I can help all of these other ladies and also, so I can make the pattern myself. Very adorable! Admire your skill so much 🙌 thank you!
Why didn't you put your "Links" clickable for the pattern and link to Make & Few? 🤔 Most people don't understand how to click on the link let alone you make it more difficult w/o clickable links.
Thank you for making a video companion to the pattern. I am a super newbie and visuals are super helpful!
I've never seen a handle made like that before. It looks so cool. Thank you for this. I love this bag. ❤️

Finished this bag tonight with the lining and it turned out beautiful!

I love this bag pattern, and your tutorial was so helpful. I used different yarn and it still turned out beautifully. thanks so much :)

If I were to make this with cotton would I follow same measurements?Thank You Love it!

Nice bag! Thank you very much !

Hi, do you think it would be possible use a 2mm or 3mm macrame cord for this beautiful bag? Thanks!

Love this bag and happy to save on my To Do list thank you 😊 the strap handle is brilliant 💗👌🏼 you are doing great and will subscribe
Beautiful very nice 👍
Can't wait to try this! How many skeins of tape yarn is required? Thanks!
From her pattern, you need 3 balls of yarn.
How many balls of the Rewind Yarn did u use?
Hi Lindsay! You will need 3 balls. :)
How Many?
What are the exact measurements of the size of that rectangle please?
How many chain do you work in first?
It would be really easy and pretty to line the bag with fabric!
Yes!! What a great idea! Maybe a pretty Spring floral or Summer-y stripe
@@lakesideloops4327 I plan on making one for me and one for my mom for our upcoming trip to Europe. I think they will pack well. 😊
Thank you for a wonderful pattern!
@@sunclover Oh wow!! Enjoy your trip! What a thoughtful idea. :)
Bellissimo
Thanks for the lovely pattern, one question, i have some worsted weight yarn, could I use that and maybe increase starting chain ?

Obrigada por compartilhar! Love It!
Please help. I can't find the free pattern of this nice Miller bag.😮
Do you think I could pull this off using tshirt yarn?
Making this today! Don't have tape yarn, only 8-ply yarn. How many yards was used for one bag?
Hi, I have just bought your Spencer bag pattern, however I couldn't find the video tutorial for it. Is there any way to get the video tutorial for Spencer bag, please? I'm very new to crocheting and would really like a video guidance to work through the pattern :) hope you can help me out. Thanks
Hi how many yarn do I need for this bag
How long will it take to make this bag?
hi, question: can I use acrylic yarn, too?
I'm thinking of doing this bag in acrylic too..thought of using two strands together to make it stronger and also different colours to make it stand out..also thinking of lining it before joining together, it would be much easier to do when it's flat..
Downloading from etsy shop the pattern is not free.
Okay, you keep saying there is a free written pattern...but I've been on both websites and can't find it!!! I need to know the stitch count and row count please
Thank you! I am making mine now. I think the handle idea is brilliant, BTW. 🙂
Aw, thank you so much!! If you post a picture I'd love a tag (@LakesideLoops) so I can see it! Hope you enjoy working it up. :)
If you chain 2 and then count 3 back...isnt it just the first one in that row? This is where I get confused...
Can i use any kind of yarn

Hey It is little confusing. Like chain2 do we need to skip the first 2 stiches and start half double crochet in the chain3 and so on?

Love this! Do you recall the measurements you used? Should we crochet 3x the actual width we want for the finished bag?
Hi Tamara! Yes, the exact measurement of my finished rectangle are within the pattern (I can't seem to pull it up right now) but as long as the rectangle is 3x1 you're all set.
What color is this?
Warum wird denn nicht die Größe für das zu häkelnde Rechteck angegeben.

Hi there how much yarn is needed?
Hello! You need 3 balls of Lion Brand Rewind Tape Yarn (weight: 5/bulky - 242 yards, 3.5 oz). :)
Nevermind...sorry, I was scrolling down far enough
