Guardians do fight the monsters. Most of the enemy AI is very well done, except for this part. I hope the next Zelda works on this. Monsters should fight each other and they shouldn't try to run away from villages and stables like cowards.
In the next game, they need to program the creatures to react to each other better. Some should work together, like bokoblins, moblins, and lizalfos do, but there should also be creatures they are hostile to. Hynoxes and lynels should be hostile to each other.
I'd even like it if you could start a gang war between Moblin and Lizalfos camps, so that none of them noticed you sneaking up and killing them off until there were like five left, at which point they would put aside their differences and try to pummel you with their last breaths.
Bro like if hinox and stone taluses could gang up on players and lynels and they do a little high five at the end of the kill u or if nearby lizalfos jumped on the backs of hinoxes and started shooting arrows. Since lynels are part lion they could live in groups so their could be prides of gold, white and red lynels all living together man that would be so cool.

Yeah they actually do that a lot. If you can get them out of their spawn area they just don't do anything, except occasionally they'll try to teleport back in, which you can cancel by hitting them.

You can kill a Lynel at the colosseum without using any durability by leading it to the stairs and just repeatedly mounting it. I posted a video of it to Facebook. I'm George Hernandez and my profile picture is of Mario in my color code finishing from a backflip.

Denise Nicole Wrong, the lynel isn’t broken, the game tells it to not attack and return to the area it belongs to. To sum up, the lynel will not move or attack Link until it returns to it’s spawn

Considering the aggro range of those things I'm almost surprised you had to lure him with those arrows at the start. I was sitting on a piece of ruin waiting for the blue dragon to pass by, and suddenly I get sniped by ice arrows from a Lynel barely within rendering distance.

Reminds me of the time when I was playing Skyrim. Found a dragon, ran down the mountain into a giants camp. Giants killed the dragon. Travelers killed the giants. And then wolves attacked me. All in one small grove.
I used to fear Lynels so much. Now every time I see them and fight them or see others fight them, it is so comical and easy to react to their once-deadly attacks.
It's weird how the Lynel just stands there. Link is perceptible, so it could keep going after him, or it could teleport back to its area. It could just run back, but nope; it just stands there, "deactivated", and taking AoE damage from the hinix's slams. Also miss that BotW hinox don't toss explosives. Fun video though.
