Can you do a film review for Fruit Chan's "Made in Hong Kong". I really loved that movie since it doesn't glamorize HK gangster film, rather it focuses on state housing kids and it's poetic story. I feel like it doesn't get as much credit as it should.
Maybe the general audience who follows this page can appreciate it like I do. Thanks.

I love your channel and have been a subscriber for a year now. One suggestion I have for you to pull in more donations is to possibly do a face reveal and have a Q+A once in a while where you can talk to your fans (yes, you have them 😉) and have a more in-depth dialogue. I could see this being a way to get more donation and support for the channel.

I'd love for the Hong Kong action film industry to make a come back but the talent doesn't exist anymore. I think it will make a comeback but not within the next 10-15 years.

Have you thought about putting Mandarin or Cantonese audio track versions of your videos? Like many ABCs, my immigrant parents only learned enough English to get through small talk and essential tasks. I think they’ll enjoy your videos but they’ll be unable to follow the English.
I think there are subtitles in traditional and simplified Chinese, so you could try those :)
@@Ginatus Too bad they hate subtitles. They are slow readers and like many who came of age in the mainland during the 1950s, never achieved above middle school education due to the Cultural Revolution.

Since your parents already know how to speak Mandarin or Cantonese, learning to read or write isn't difficult. They are already halfway there mastering the language. If they are retired, take some time to learn an hour each day. It will be very rewarding.

I've heard somewhere that films starring asian americans did not do well in asian markets because the people there had this mentality of "if I wanted to watch a movie starring asians, I would watch a movie made in asia." Was there any truth to this?
Nope, there are many successful Asian americans working in Asia as entertainers. They usually aren't given enough opportunities in the West but become huge stars in Asia.
For films, it depends. Usually a movie based on an Asian tale (inevitably stars Asian Americans) but produced or directed by Westerners aren't well received. Asian audiences will be more critical and view the Western interpretation and depictions of Asia as inaccurate e.g. Mulan. In the case of Mulan, even more so because it is a classic tale. However when it is made by a Chinese director like Crouching Tiger , Hidden Dragon, they have less issues with it. That film was very well received in Asia.
