As so many note, Diana Ankudinova is a complete artist. She commits 100% to the role and it truly shows. There are no halfway measures in anything that she does. In this, as in all the talent shows she is in, there is always an imposed time limit so unfortunately songs are pared down to fit the available time and without fail we all moan about wanting more time. I think that even without these limits we would want more of Diana, there is no point at which one could say "I've had enough, I'm full" when it comes to appreciating Diana's talent. At least I think this is true of any sane person with even the barest modicum of appreciation of talent.
Diana is 14 here and has performed this song in other videos at an older age and her voice is even more incredible...the maturity is obvious...and yeah, at least one of the judges commented that he was captivated and didn't realize the song was ending and hit his buzzer late. Enjoyed your vid.

As so many note, Diana Ankudinova is a complete artist. She commits 100% to the role and it truly shows. There are no halfway measures in anything that she does. In this, as in all the talent shows she is in, there is always an imposed time limit so unfortunately songs are pared down to fit the available time and without fail we all moan about wanting more time. I think that even without these limits we would want more of Diana, there is no point at which one could say "I've had enough, I'm full" when it comes to appreciating Diana's talent. At least I think this is true of any sane person with even the barest modicum of appreciation of talent.

Diana is 14 here and has performed this song in other videos at an older age and her voice is even more incredible...the maturity is obvious...and yeah, at least one of the judges commented that he was captivated and didn't realize the song was ending and hit his buzzer late. Enjoyed your vid.

Greetings from Scotland! This performance was released on TV in April 14th, 2018 so Diana was still only 14 years old here! This was in an amazing Russian project "You're Super" for abandoned/disadvantaged children because Diana spent some years in an orphanage when she was 3yo. This is one of the points where Diana gained a lot of attention around the world because of her excellent performances. These are the dates and performances:-

April 14, 2018 "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" in English, by James Brown and Betty Jean Newsome.
May 12, 2018 "Rechenka" in Russian. (a very old Russian folk song)

You are absolutely right about the short versions at the contests. The fact is that different works have different durations in time. And in order to put the contestants on an equal footing, they are limited in time of performance: for all the same time to demonstrate their vocal abilities. That is why we see short versions at competitions, besides sometimes starting with the wrong verse as in the original.

The best cover of this show i believe was 2012 American Idol was a guy named Joshua Ledet. But anything he sung blew the roof off with talent. He finished 3rd. I stopped watching that show in disgust. ( fans picked winners by votes)
