If they can't provide something of like kind and cost, then they should provide a partial refund or a gift certificate for a free item of your choice if they have an online store attached to the subscription.

@@willowashe Actually, I'd say it makes Claire's look positively high end. 14k gold PLATED rhodium is the cheapest of cheap costume jewelry. And there is nothing wrong that normally. Not everyone can or wants to spend a fortune on shiny metal. However, I find it offensive that they didn't even try polishing the turd before telling us it was a "diamond". But to charge someone solid 24k gold prices while delivering a 14k plated rhodium product. (Lol, I actually did the math on it. Currently, 24k gold is about $1300 and ounce. A thin, simple gold chain like that would weigh between 5 to 10 grams, or between 0.17 and 0.35 of an ounce. So if the necklace was solid 24k gold, it should cost between $221 - $390. Now, of course that is just the cost of the gold, not taking into account label and mark up fees. $160 for costume jewelry isn't cool. They scammed Alex.)
I've been watching your videos for a few years now, and I think that the only element of the editing I found a bit odd was the...Mood music? I guess? During the unboxing of the purse. I didn't notice it really before, if it was there, but it felt ike it got louder and made it difficult for me to keep up with what you were saying. I do have auditory issues though that make it easy for me to be overwhelmed, so it might just be a "me" issue. Apart from that though, it felt like one of your regular videos! Always fun when you upload!

Could just be me but this felt more sped up than typical unboxing chat and was heavy on cut transitions. With that said mad props to you for knowing when to delegate and your editor who I'm sure is just as incredible as you❤️
I also noticed it to be very heavy on the cut transitions and not quite as seamless also a lot of zoom in and out. Made it slightly difficult for me to watch.
Definitely too many cut jumps. We all love Alexandra and her personality, which includes rambling and giggles and faces. But otherwise the editing was good. I’m sure they’ll ease into it!
Other than the audio levels being a little wonky in a couple places, the editor did a great job! They seem to have a pretty good handle on your editing style, and I'm excited to see how things evolve! I'd reach out to customer service about the necklace. Let them know what happened. They should either resend or credit you. For the shampoo/conditioner- again tell them you can't use them. You got the box for the blush/pallet. I get things happen, but that's quite a bit a value to have issues with.
Ugh, Rachel Zoe was a celebrity stylist and then got her own TV show. 🤢 As another person commented, and I'm paraphrasing, I'm not a fan of her but I'm a fan of you, and I too will watch you open anything. You're probably the most down-to-earth and genuine RUclipsr I've ever seen. ❤ Edit: I just remembered she used to hang out with celebrities and I'd often see her on red carpet events, back in the day when I actually had cable TV and watched it. I think she's friends with Paris Hilton and probably the Kardashian clan. Oh, I bought a jade vibrating face massager years ago from the Canadian shopping channel and I paid almost $40 for jt. My Son found it in the bathroom and asked what it was 😂 and he then showed me the same item on Ali Baba that cost just under $2.00 to purchase. Smart kid; I'll often check out prices for home appliances there and determine if Amazon is worth buying a particular item from. Oh my, once I get going there's no stopping 😂
Just remember places like temu & Ali baba their ultimate is to make replica copys of things this is the very thing Chinese are good at but what they fail at is the safety of what they make their products with but hey they have fools buying their cheap products then later getting sick down the road yet they have no clue what's making them sick.. In fact their was a news report recent reporting on temu how their is a world wide issue with certain chemicals being found on their products and making them sick yet no one believes so they keep buying like sheep's.
Rachel Zoe also had/has (?) her fashion line of clothes and accessories like bags and jewelry I think. Not sure if she still does it but I remember she had her own line at some point Edit: I just got to the part where Alex opened Rachel Zoe purse lolol that answers that I guess!!
IGK is $32 a bottle, so together $64. It is a really good brand. I am going through a hair regrowth journey and I can use this brand without worrying about fallout.
If you want to use the longer strap on that purse, just lift the flap and tuck the short handle inside. I make all my purses with 2 strap options just like that, with the longer one being able to clip on when I need both hands free. I keep it coiled up in the bottom of my purse until I need it. If you hadn't told us you have an editor now, I wouldn't have known. You did a good job choosing someone who matched your style so well.
Or you can let it dangling, as we see in the pictures of the booklet. It's a strange idea but it's how they show it... and not my cup of tea, I must say

I think that’s great that you’re using an editor. I found the amount of jump cuts to be very distracting. Also, I think the little zooms in and out isn’t great.
Yes please! I have some serious doubts about a lot of products nowadays, with the surge of sites like temu (no way you’re selling any of that stuff at that price without cutting major, important corners), and I always wonder whenever something sketchy with likely inflated pricing pops up in these boxes.
I was surprised that you said someone else edited this one! They did a great job at matching your style! the only comment I'd make is that the music is a little loud. Kind of distracts from you talking lol but maybe that's just my adhd
I definitely think you are saying it right so don’t worry there. As for this box I don’t think it is worth the money. No way is it worth what you originally paid for it let alone the projected price! I’d drop this one and look for a different option. Great unboxing though. I always appreciate your feedback on the items and feel you are on point every time. Can’t wait for the next one ❤
I really didn’t notice the editing other than there wasn’t a ren and tator shot. I don’t know if they were just not into it today but nobody puts ren and tator in the corner 🤣🤣. As long as this is help for and he doesn’t edit out the zany fun things, I am all for it!!
I bought a rose quartz vibrating facial massager at Dollar Tree. It also did not come with batteries :). However, it does feel nice when your sinuses are giving you fits.
Love that you have an editor! I echo what many others are saying in that the music playing in the background isn’t my favorite and it seems like there are a lot more noticeable cuts in certain sections. Regardless of editing, I’ll watch everything!! ❤
You wouldn’t have been missing much from Doucce. A common subscription box makeup brand that appears from time to time in British subscription boxes. a brand with inflated prices like Avant that gives very neutral (boring ) colours.
Ugh, I got an Avant serum from a sub box and kinda liking it... Checked the price, 129 e/30 ml. 😫 No way I'm buying that for myself! I guess I'll have to ask for dupes on Reddit or something. 😅

I know there is music in your other videos, but it's barely there like it's part of the ambiance you could say, so maybe your new editor can just find a good balance in the sound. Have the music blend in so much. I'm not sure if it's there. I actually had to go back and see if there was music in all her previous videos, and to my surprise, there is, but it blends in beautifully with Alex's dialog ❤❤❤❤

The shampoo and conditioner seem lovely but I’m very picky about my hair care. I’m not fussed on getting items in boxes. My daughters LOVE that about me 🤣.
Seems like a kinda scammy box full of inflated-value items. The IGK is okay, but Ipsy regularly has Avant items in its shop that are $100+ value for like $8. Gold plated jewelry is very cheap (although WL's website says it's gold vermeil, which is gold plated over sterling silver; that's a fair bit better, but well short of $169) . And the vibrating skin tool is white label.
It's definitely not worth the money, but I still love the unboxing, lol. and she was on a Bravo or E show, and I believe she guest starred on a few others
Lol...Dollar Tree has the skin gym that is plastic with the pink quarzts for a dollar twenty five!!! They also have one that has a flat metal disk for the head and one that has 3 metal rollers in the head to help massage skin care in

I’ve tried the Curateur box a couple times over the years and absolutely DID NOT like it! I felt that the products had inflated suggested retail pricing, especially the Rachael Zoe items. I believe her item is where the bulk of the ‘value’ of the box comes in. I didn’t keep anything from those boxes for long.
I know this would be out of your wheelhouse but I would love if you did one of the survival box's... just watching you figure the things out would probably make my day lol.

I used to get this box for years and it was sooo good! Everything was so luxe…so much better than the box they put out this quarter! I would have been down right sick to my stomach for this box especially for $125! I stopped getting the box when they changed the price from $95 to $125…it just didn’t seem to be as good at the new price point. That necklace 🤯 it's gold plated!!! Not even actual gold but it's actually a different metal with a bit of covering- that's wayyyyy too expensive and outrageous for my blood. Now i do like igk's mistress hydrating balm (had gotten it in a boxycharm box back in the day and i still but it off of Amazon as i like the smell and the way my hair feels plus hubby likes the smell) so i have been tempted to try some of their other products but $64 for some shampoo and conditioner are amazon is hard for me to do lol

I didn’t really notice a difference! Don’t let them edit Jimmy or the close ups of the pups! For the purse you can tuck the shorter strap inside the purse when you use the longer strap. I have a similar one and that’s what I do!

So, the Avant duo, are sold as separates on the Avant website (UK, idk if they have a US one), I couldn't see them as a duo, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there, I might've just missed it lol. It looks like the quoted price is roughly the original price for those 2 items, and they are "full size", but the Avant site also has a reduced price showing, idk how often they are on sale or if it is for mother's day or something. It loks like they are considered the travel packs, I assume because they are squeezy tubes and non-breakable, but, you can get the pink orchid one in a little glass bottle with a pump... both tube & bottle are 30ml & same price: was £89.00, now a clearly more reasonable £62.30. The moisture surge, was £84, now £58.80 (about the price of my current face moisturiser), and original pack is glass, and the travel is plastic squeezy tube... same prices. So combined was £173 (~$216.11), now £121.10 (~$151.28), the website says it also has an extra 15% off when you sign up...and when I went to navigate away it tried to entice me with another 5%, I am curious if you can stack them, because some sites only allow one discount code. There was also mention of anfreee complimentary gift when you soend more than £150 (the example shown said it was valued at £125, but then also shows it for sale at £40, ...it has 5 sample tubes & a make up bag, but also a gift card so you can buy a full size product if there is one of the samples you like. soooo... I would rather they were honest about the value being £40, instead of trying to impress with an inflated number that is then "reduced"). As for the expensive squeezy tubes: On the one hand, I get it, some people want to be able to safely travel with their fave products, and it is probably safer to send squeezy tubes out in a package...but on the other, the glass packaging makes them look more worth the price tags and it can be easier to see if you uave got all the product out (especially the jar is easier to fully empty). I also can't help but wonder how inflated their price tags are. I got briefly excited that they had an advent calendar listed (originally £877, now £99 - clearly the first number is what they added everything up to for retail at), but then realised it was out of stock. Sadness. As a complete aside, I do like that from their site, it seems that Avant do several different discounts: student, 15-25 youth, over 60s, and key worker (eg doctors, nurses, police, etc who often get what we call a "blue light" discount from some brands - there is a whole scheme set up for it, but these have also included other key workers such as teachers, supermarket staff, government staff, and charity workers, who often get overlooked ). But, again, these are only notable if they are stackable with other discounts, imo.
I think you can put the smaller strap into the purse to hide it if you want to use the longer one. It would take up part of the bag but it would probably hide it pretty well
@alexandriaRyan im betting u likely saw umpteen comments already about the purse, suggesting that you could try stuffing the "permanent shoulder strap" INSIDE the bag whrn usingbthe detachable shoulder strap, but just in case, now i've bugged ya too, lol! I couldn’t tell the editing of the video either! They did a great job! The only thing I would suggest is for the editor to blur out the price when you show screenshots of products that way we have more shock factor at the end. I saw the $209 price tag and couldn’t focus because WHAT, that’s insane!
I do understand when you say you don't want subtle, how much some of skincare stuff costs I am the first one that thinks I better look like new person tomorrow 😂 but I appreciate that they say it that way instead crazy promises that only end up being commercial so they can sell more
I'm guessing the range description on the necklace is due to being available in different countries, eg 14k is standard in US and 18k in UK. There isn't any 14k in UK, just 9ct, 18ct or 22ct
Using your fingers to gently massage your face in those motions would be just as effective. Actually in the day we also put a spoon in the freezer. Unfortunately no matter how many tricks I tried nature had a mind of it's own. Somehow the left hand side of my face having recieved the same treatments as the right looks 10 years older.😮😊

I think that’s great that you’re using an editor. I found the amount of jump cuts to be very distracting. Also, I think the little zooms in and out isn’t great.

Yes please! I have some serious doubts about a lot of products nowadays, with the surge of sites like temu (no way you’re selling any of that stuff at that price without cutting major, important corners), and I always wonder whenever something sketchy with likely inflated pricing pops up in these boxes.

I know there is music in your other videos, but it's barely there like it's part of the ambiance you could say, so maybe your new editor can just find a good balance in the sound. Have the music blend in so much. I'm not sure if it's there. I actually had to go back and see if there was music in all her previous videos, and to my surprise, there is, but it blends in beautifully with Alex's dialog ❤❤❤❤

Seems like a kinda scammy box full of inflated-value items. The IGK is okay, but Ipsy regularly has Avant items in its shop that are $100+ value for like $8. Gold plated jewelry is very cheap (although WL's website says it's gold vermeil, which is gold plated over sterling silver; that's a fair bit better, but well short of $169) . And the vibrating skin tool is white label.
Can’t say I like this box the shampoo and conditioner probably is the only thing out of the entire box that I liked.
That shampoo set is the best thing you got, tbh!

I’ve tried the Curateur box a couple times over the years and absolutely DID NOT like it! I felt that the products had inflated suggested retail pricing, especially the Rachael Zoe items. I believe her item is where the bulk of the ‘value’ of the box comes in. I didn’t keep anything from those boxes for long.
I remember reading that Avant is brand created by Glossy box that they slapped a high price on just to boost up the value of their boxes 🤔

I used to get this box for years and it was sooo good! Everything was so luxe…so much better than the box they put out this quarter! I would have been down right sick to my stomach for this box especially for $125! I stopped getting the box when they changed the price from $95 to $125…it just didn’t seem to be as good at the new price point. Please try it for one more quarter and if that box sucks like this one you have my permission to stop getting it…LoL! Btw…if Curator is reading this comment please do better!

That necklace 🤯 it's gold plated!!! Not even actual gold but it's actually a different metal with a bit of covering- that's wayyyyy too expensive and outrageous for my blood. Now i do like igk's mistress hydrating balm (had gotten it in a boxycharm box back in the day and i still but it off of Amazon as i like the smell and the way my hair feels plus hubby likes the smell) so i have been tempted to try some of their other products but $64 for some shampoo and conditioner are amazon is hard for me to do lol

For the purse you can tuck the shorter strap inside the purse when you use the longer strap. I have a similar one and that’s what I do!

So, the Avant duo, are sold as separates on the Avant website (UK, idk if they have a US one), I couldn't see them as a duo, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there, I might've just missed it lol.
It looks like the quoted price is roughly the original price for those 2 items, and they are "full size", but the Avant site also has a reduced price showing, idk how often they are on sale or if it is for mother's day or something. It loks like they are considered the travel packs, I assume because they are squeezy tubes and non-breakable, but, you can get the pink orchid one in a little glass bottle with a pump... both tube & bottle are 30ml & same price: was £89.00, now a clearly more reasonable £62.30. The moisture surge, was £84, now £58.80 (about the price of my current face moisturiser), and original pack is glass, and the travel is plastic squeezy tube... same prices. So combined was £173 (~$216.11), now £121.10 (~$151.28), the website says it also has an extra 15% off when you sign up...and when I went to navigate away it tried to entice me with another 5%, I am curious if you can stack them, because some sites only allow one discount code. There was also mention of anfreee complimentary gift when you soend more than £150 (the example shown said it was valued at £125, but then also shows it for sale at £40, ...it has 5 sample tubes & a make up bag, but also a gift card so you can buy a full size product if there is one of the samples you like. soooo... I would rather they were honest about the value being £40, instead of trying to impress with an inflated number that is then "reduced").
As for the expensive squeezy tubes: On the one hand, I get it, some people want to be able to safely travel with their fave products, and it is probably safer to send squeezy tubes out in a package...but on the other, the glass packaging makes them look more worth the price tags and it can be easier to see if you uave got all the product out (especially the jar is easier to fully empty). I also can't help but wonder how inflated their price tags are.
I got briefly excited that they had an advent calendar listed (originally £877, now £99 - clearly the first number is what they added everything up to for retail at), but then realised it was out of stock. Sadness.
As a complete aside, I do like that from their site, it seems that Avant do several different discounts: student, 15-25 youth, over 60s, and key worker (eg doctors, nurses, police, etc who often get what we call a "blue light" discount from some brands - there is a whole scheme set up for it, but these have also included other key workers such as teachers, supermarket staff, government staff, and charity workers, who often get overlooked ). But, again, these are only notable if they are stackable with other discounts, imo.

I couldn’t tell the editing of the video either! They did a great job! The only thing I would suggest is for the editor to blur out the price when you show screenshots of products that way we have more shock factor at the end. I saw the $209 price tag and couldn’t focus because WHAT, that’s insane!

I'm guessing the range description on the necklace is due to being available in different countries, eg 14k is standard in US and 18k in UK. There isn't any 14k in UK, just 9ct, 18ct or 22ct
