A similar situation is in Turkey as well. The official consensus made by the Islamic government claims that about 89.5 percent of the population is Muslim but in reality the ones that claim they are Muslims are about 60 percent and the ones that actually pray and fast and all of that is only about 5-10 percent of the population. A lot of people simply don't care about it and atheism is rising significantly among younger people. All the mosques are either filled with old people or empty. Hopefully one day we can be get rid of this cancer that has destroyed our society.

I work in a Company in Birmingham UK which I won't name but is owned by an really nice Iranian guy. I'm the only none Iranian working there. I tell you this. The problem with this statistic is that it only takes into account 50,000 people from Iran, which now has a population of around 90,000,000. However it does seem likely though that given the stats among those 50,000 that you’re gonna see some correspondence with those 90,000,000.

I was stationed in New London, Ct. on a Submarine in 1977,78 and the U.S. Navy had Iranian sailors training with us well before the Revolution hit. These guys were very nice people who did mind their business but were definitely pro-western and supportive of the USA. Then they suddenly disappeared just before or right along with the Iranian revolution. It is interesting to me to have witnessed pre-revolution and now apparently post revolution. This is a scary time for the people of Iran with the Mullahs in charge. There is no telling what they will do as they become more desperate holding on to power tenuously. Having our current administration in place could lead to serious miscalculation. I support the people of Iran.

The official consensus made by the Islamic government claims that about 89.5 percent of the population is Muslim but in reality the ones that claim they are Muslims are about 60 percent and the ones that actually pray and fast and all of that is only about 5-10 percent of the population. A lot of people simply don't care about it and atheism is rising significantly among younger people. All the mosques are either filled with old people or empty. Hopefully one day we can be get rid of this cancer that has destroyed our society.

I work in a Company in Birmingham UK which I won't name but is owned by an really nice Iranian guy. I'm the only none Iranian working there. I tell you this. They all drink alcohol and love pork, they still identify as Muslim but the ones I'm Close to have outright denounced Islam and hate Islam. 2 years ago I dated a Iranian girl who can't stand islam. All this has left me wondering if I'm ever going to meet a proper Iranian who actually follows and Loves Islam.
They're few and far between. The people running the country have ruined Islam for those in it. I have a close Iranian friend and he says that everyone hates the mention of religion because of how much they've corrupted it in Iran. Tragic

As a Muslim, I can confirm that there's a MAJOR problem in Afghanistan, Pakistan (Originally from there but don't live there), and Iran, but Iran has had a downfall in Islam, I can assure u it's the fastest growing religion
I was stationed in New London, Ct. on a Submarine in 1977,78 and the U.S. Navy had Iranian sailors training with us well before the Revolution hit.
These guys were very nice people who did mind their business but were definitely pro-western and supportive of the USA.
Then they suddenly disappeared just before or right along with the Iranian revolution.
It is interesting to me to have witnessed pre-revolution and now apparently post revolution.
This is a scary time for the people of Iran with the Mullahs in charge. There is no telling what they will do as they become more desperate holding on to power tenuously.
Having our current administration in place could lead to serious miscalculation.

Second no this is false. In shia not EVERY person have certain belief BUT every shia person have to pick one moghaled for himself(moghaled meens someone that is in high knowledge and people listen to his word for example. My father moghaled was ayatollah Khomeini) and I think we have 6 or 8 moghaled and most of those moghaled have same answer to a lot of questions BUT in some questions maybe one or two of them have different answer
