Thanks
Thank you so much for the trail magic my friend
Efren, you might also do the Kumano Kodo, which is the Japanese counterpart of the camino. Both are the only two UNESCO-recognized world heritage pilgrimage routes. The Kumano is quite a challenging trek- my friends and I did the Nakahechi route.
Absolutely glorious!!! All I can say is: WOW!!! Your passion for being in a new environment is really inspiring and very beautiful. I love how you embrace it. This should encourage anyone who dreams of doing something new to go for it.
Looks amazing, Efren. Thanks for sharing. Can't to see the rest of your adventure.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I love you positive attitude in the face of adversity!
the only way out is forward! lol thanks
Hi Efrén ! Expecting this begining since your first comments, many times before. Great ! As a peregrino myself from the Camino Aragonês many years ago , I'm a brasilian fan of your passionate walkings, with content, relevant cultural information, and real joy. Here from Salvador, I'm with you on these trail and pilgrimage. And good vibes, axé, and nice food and sleep on the days ahead.
Fantastic. So different to your previous walk, great to watch, very interesting. Thank you
Thanks for sharing
Interesting to see a very different type of pilgrimage!
I loved it
So very interesting!! Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Exciting! More of a temple tour than a Camino. Another exciting way of doing a tour. Love your flexibility.
Since every temple was opened, it felt more like a pilgrimage than the camino.
When was it? I am chocked by the number of pilgrims around that shop. It seems the pilgrimage is getting really popular!
Thumbs up for the gorgeous videography, the 3D map and the daily costs breakdown. So useful.
Wow you spent more on your first day than what I spent in a whole month during my last trip in Japan 😄
Can you explain what you did with the Osetai piece of paper in the last scene? You left it at a temple?
This was September 30, 2023. The date is at the bottom of the video description.
Love it.
Interesting, been waiting for this trip along time now
I waited 4 years and it was worth it
Ha I did the same thing , missed Temple 4 + 5 , went straight to number 6 , had to pick them up after i passed number 88 , It was raining very hard , very difficult to see my GPS device .
too many things going on at once on the first day but we learn fast.
Great Video ! Congratulations on your Shikoku Adventure
Yay, thank you!
Amazing 😍 ....Namaste 🙏 from the India 🇮🇳
Your travel videos are my favorite. Thank you for sharing all of your camino journeys and other adventures. It inspired me to do the Frances and helping me plan future trips as well. Maybe the Annapurna is next. Happy New Years Efren 🫡
Thank you Tony. You will love the Annapurna circuit. Happy new year and buen camino.
The SIM pin lockout is easily fixed... Remove the SIM and simply restart the phone and you get the your phone back. If it an unlocked phone, simply buy a new SIM with local service and data, which is usually a fraction of the price of any US carriers price.
I figured it out a few days later. I was looking for a cell store but could not find one. I met a guy in Kochi who helped me out.
Steps….yep. No matter if the land is flat, you will still climb steps.
Once again another adventure! I would never be able to finish because I would be filling up SD cards by the hour from the sights
It was incredible. I filmed between 2 and 3 hours worth of footage per day
Thanks for the video. Looking forward to seeing the whole thing. I'll be doing mine in April and I've been wanting to ask you how did the translator device worked out? Was it useful enough to get one is what I want to know? Or would Google translate app work good enough? 🙂 thank you!
Google translate works faster, but since my phone was locked, the device came in handy.
DESDE MIAMI TE SALUDAMOS. FANTASTICO Y GLORIOSO. ESTE PEREGRINAJE ES INSPIRADOR. GRACIAS POR COMPARTIR CON NOSOTROS. CUIDATE.
muchas gracias. un saludo para ustedes.
hi Efren, will be walking in may 24. what type of drone are you using. did you have to register it before entry to Japan? respect to you on your journey and I will be following your videos. Dave uk
Thank you Dave. I had the Dji Mini 4 Pro. Sub 250g didn't register it. You can find my gear list in the video's description
I respect you as a Japanese.
Thank you
Great way to "walk off" jet lag! Whew!
I need to start giving myself a few days to acclimatize before I start walking.
Hi Efren. You left without me !!!! How much in US dollars did it cost for the stamp and the seal on the scroll. By the way,,, how often did you get lost …which is Easy to do when there is so much to take in. I hike/walk solo and i must admit that the mind does wonder and you look up and think out loud, f*** lost again. Wish l was there with you..
lol I got lost quite a bit. I highly recommend GPS tracks for this trip. The Stamps were 300 yen for the book and 500 yen for the scroll, but they are going up next April for the first time in 30 years. I think now they will be 500 and 700. My rate was 139 yen per dollar.
👍
Hey Efren! Amazing video! I also vlogged my whole journey on the 88 temple pilgrimage. I made a daily reel about it. You can see all of them on my channel. It was such an amazing journey. I walked the whole thing and I took me 45 days! How long are you estimating to finish it? Gambatte!
Thank you so much Kiera. I know, I followed you on instagram, and we even talked in the comments.
@@Walk_with_Efren that’s awesome! Got to find your Instagram account now 😍 What day are you up to now?
I finished it in mid November
Why don't you ditch the cameras and scooter and just go simply?
I eventually ditched the scooter, but this is what I do for a living. Check out the content on the channel.
