Thats rad man !!! A friend of mine did some acting for the recent slipknot video as well. Its not often I get to say something like that since I live in the stix of midwest usa
Bea, I think I told you in person, and I wasn't exaggerating, this song brought me to tears at the end the first time I heard it. At this point in the album, I felt like I was truly understanding the story you guys were telling here, and the message was important. The degraded recording of the narrator, and his plea, seemed so futile. The music throughout is the perfect setup for the ending, a seeming struggle or war that must be endured. And at the end it doesn't sound like truth and justice prevailed, and that is profoundly sad. Many thanks to you three for the song. And now the video. Best to Ben and Dave.
Thanks for sharing your take cort.. It seems as though many of us feel that things work themselves out for the best. I dont know if I was ever told this *explicitly*, but it was a background hum of sorts. Sometimes they do not though. Sometimes due to our actions, sometimes due to factors beyond our control.. But, these stories are not told even remotely as often because its a damn hard truth to really face. In spite of that, or maybe because of it, these stories are incredibly important. Fictional or otherwise, they prepare us for the possibility. In doing so, we might just take a different choice here and there and create a different ending, even if these things are not always entirely in our control. Took me years in my own life to know and accept this. Sometimes things just dont have a happy ending.
This is a great track, but if you're crying at metal music i think you have an underlying emotional problem. Seek help, talk to someone who cares about you... x
Isnt that the whole point of music we all have our own problems and emotions! and songs resonate in different ways depending on circumstance and emotional bent at the time! i used to cry my eyes out listening to cold turkey by john lennon but i was addicted to heroin now i love the song and hate heroin! Meanings of songs change with your internal resonance!
To this day, I'm still coming back frequently for this beatiful outro. I'm truly sad that I won't ever see you guys live, you mean so much to me.. Cheers!!
Still listening in 2022.... it just sounds so massive! Wish I could read the lyrics somewhere though, as I'm a total sucker for thought provoking stuff!!
I think so. Listening to the vocal, the video makes sense. The first three are taken because they represent Fire, Water and Air. However, the final one, earth, wouldn't be taken willingly and ultimately overcame the person attempting to take them. The vocals in the track talking of humans destroying the earth and taking it for their own would indicate a sense of conflict and this is shown in the last scene, with the 'age of war' vocal, the 'age of self' being about how the person was attempting to gain power for his own use.
To continue this, it links in with the real world. The 'fire' representation is showing our lack of renewable energy and harvesting all the earth's non-renewable energy sources to burn for fuel. 'Water' is probably reflecting the pollution in our oceans and it's severe effect on the earth and/or the other creatures on it. 'Air' is most likely (from my knowledge) showing how we've polluted our air in certain parts of the world from power plants and such, and they all have impacts on each other. The reason they were taken so easily is representing the current situation on the earth, we've already destroyed those resources but the earth itself still remains mostly intact.
Linking it back in context with the album, I think the man was meant to represent the person monologuing in the title track. He's attempting to gain power against the people who've wronged him, however because his actions, had he gained all 4, would have been no different to the current situation except pain for the other party, he was stopped. I'm probably just talking crap but I think Rabea would appreciate the effort 😂😂
*The reason the earth had stopped him is because his actions would have harmed the earth (think a big, big ol' explosion, or some form of purge) significantly, hence why the earth character was the one who pushed back.
I thought about this video for nearly a full day after watching it just once! A man birthed by water who lay on the beach in swaddling clothes ends up on a journey yielding only to his passions. Ravaging and consuming everything on his path; the woman of water, the cowboy man of fire and the scuba man of air. The man has regard to no one but himself. He can hardly walk as tho barbaric and senses dull, dragging behind him what he’s consumed. The man drudges to the end of his journey and in the end comes face to face with a megaloschema monk who represents earth or ground. The man falling to his knees can’t bear to look in the monks eyes as he passes judgment on him by his words. The man wakes up as if it were a dream but ahhh its no dream. He wakes up on the other side only to find himself in the bag, not the monk. The earth consumed him where he remains underground. Brah that’s deep! “We lived as tho there was no consequence...no tomorrow...but tomorrow came.” Props on the music taking the journey of the man. You can sense his impulsive passions and enragement thru the music. His temporary relief after consuming. Phenomenal work of art. Major props!
Spotify put this in one of my mixes and I'm thrilled, this is exactly the kind of thing I want more of. Was really surprised when I realised it's the same Rabea from the Africa video, that's my favourite Leo song! I could listen to that type of thing at 2:46 forever.
Whenever I come across a band like this, I feel like I did not search hard enough to find what I was looking for, but now I'm here and they're gone. Glad they recorded it, or I would be really pissed.
The intro, and the way things play out reminds me of a lower tuned Between The Buried And Me. It gives a feeling of nostalgia and I couldn't be happier. Thank you!
As a person who doesn't exactly like or listen to heavy music, the stuff rabea and these guys come up with are very atmospherical and seem to have alot of emotion and I love it. Bea-utiful
Found my way here from Frog Leap and boy am I glad I did. What an incredible journey you took me on with this track. Absolute master level composition and execution.
God damn this is so technically fantastic. I realize a lot of folks will like this but as a pianist I really appreciate and respect this piece. Thank You All the best to you and yours!
Takes a long inhale from a pipe. “Nah man.. see society, is like a bag man. And the man is us man, we like think we’re free to the elements and world around us. But until we break through the bag and rediscover self and reestablish that nature is the real master that will be here when we’re gone. We’re really just trapped in the bag man...” haha awesome video guys!
Blown away by this! I consider this a masterpiece that has moved me as much as any music I've ever heard. Congrats to all involved in creating this audio and visual thunderstorm!
Exceptional work! Prayermonger is my favourite song from the record, but this video has solidified its position. Great to see how you develop your concept. Keep it up!
this video is a great support for the TOSKA's work. great album, superb sound, great vids. what else ? coffee ? no A BIG FUCKING LIVE for those who where NOT in any show.
Dune inspired video! My word, it fits the tune so very well. Usually not keen how the compression of RUclips, but seems to of pushed the musicality of your music too. Great job guys and the Fuzz at about 2 mins sounds so good ❤❤❤
you won't regret it!!! the more familiar you get with their work (currently 1 album and 1 EP) the more the show will stand out. toska are fucking incredible live, they have an energy that is impossible to explain, thanks to the huge range of emotions their music covers. they're really immersive and if you know even some of the riffs or soundscapey moments then it'll make even more sense
So this is what Bea and the rest of the gang get up to when Chappers isn't around. Nice! Reminds me of some of Dream Theater's more aggressive stuff. Certainly has the same epic feel.
The main character in the video seems to be a little bit of Christian (Pilgrim's Progress), a little bit of Billy Pilgrim, and a little bit of Jeffery Dahmer. Interesting combo. Great music as always!
The chord progressions near the end are so sick. Sometimes you don't need super soloy guitar stuff to make a good metal song I think. I really like the tone too, very different from many of the modern metal tones I have heard recently. There is also lots of bass I can hear which I think is sick.
Hey Rab/Toska! I play the Cowboy/Mask guy in this vid and it was a great privilege to do so. Also it introduced me to your music that I now love!
Amazing! Thanks dude! Great job 🙌🙌🙌
Rabea Massaad Thanks mate!! Hopefully our paths will cross sometime
Thats rad man !!! A friend of mine did some acting for the recent slipknot video as well. Its not often I get to say something like that since I live in the stix of midwest usa
Farewell toska, I’m gonna miss this so fucking much, like wow they were amazing
So sad man :'( I was (still am) such a fan of them
R.I.P. Toska
Only Toska could make a bloke walking through a few fields seem so exciting
You seen learning to fly by pink floyd
@@vivianstanshall8121 I would describe it as dreamy rather than exciting, but yes it is another great video featuring fields
Somehow it remains me of Fiorina "Fury" 161 if you know what I mean!
You guys should be extremely proud . Such a polished composition and execution and filled with emotional theme
Well-said!

The main chord progression still gives me chills after listening to the song several times. Bea you’re a genius!
It awesome and I've heard it before from another band.
The outro to this is one of the most beautifully sad guitar parts ever, totally great song! Amazing playing from everyone involved.
Thank you Bea for that ambience riff in the end. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard
I love the mix. It has the right balance between the guitars and bass
Mark Roberts mixed the whole album fucking amazing. It's clear, punchy and organic.
7:19 I love this kind of ambient theme writing you do!
My favorite song on the record, now with a flawless music video! Now, to repeat endlessly.
Bae, you and this band are simply amazing. I am so blown away. So dark and heavy. Ambient and beautiful. Some Old school Opeth vibes even. Cheers man!
Great video - really interested in the concept behind this. Do the characters represent natural elements?

Incredible tune and video. You guys smashed it
Thank you dude!! Hope you’re well :)
I absolutely love the shot at 5:41 and how it goes with the riff
I thought about this video for nearly a full day after watching it just once!

The riff from 7:17 till the end is so, so nice. The strings, the narration...Unreal. Great work.
I like to think of this video as a prequel to Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding.
This is the kind of heavy music I really like although I am a blues/pop fan but Rabea is just a beast and no one can deny how great TOSKA is.
that recurring musical theme through this album. I love that progression.
7:17 hey it's the Bea chord progression again lol
I'm so in love with those 3 chords haha
Does he have a video on it? Or has he stated anything about the chords?
@@iffpsv2752 I don't know, but it's in at least 4 of his songs
For me it is the ending why I allways come back to this song! Superb!
Thank god not one ruined this song with ones voice.
Still so good.....everytime....masterpiece
This entire album is haunting and beautiful and heavy and a thousand other adjectives I can’t conjure up at the moment. Thank you gents 🤘
I honestly didn't know what to expect. I heard Rabea before I knew who Toska was. I first heard him with Frog Leap. Toska is a great band.
The intro, and the way things play out reminds me of a lower tuned Between The Buried And Me. It gives a feeling of nostalgia and I couldn't be happier.
Thank you!
After years of suggesting bullshit music to me, RUclips finally delivers the goods. First listen to this band. Holy shit.
As a person who doesn't exactly like or listen to heavy music, the stuff rabea and these guys come up with are very atmospherical and seem to have alot of emotion and I love it. Bea-utiful
Wish I could play like Rabea
Don't we all?
Scary! Can't sleep tonight..... But now i know, why Toska is one of my favourite bands.
that gargantuan growling bass in the middle of the mix though... FAKYEH!
Finally got off my ass and ordered the album today on CD. Cheers from Texas!
One of my favorites from this Album! EPIC awesome tones on this Bass is massive !
Found my way here from Frog Leap and boy am I glad I did. What an incredible journey you took me on with this track. Absolute master level composition and execution.
The outro is one of the most impactful things ever written. A job well done, guys.
God damn this is so technically fantastic. I realize a lot of folks will like this but as a pianist I really appreciate and respect this piece. Thank You
All the best to you and yours!
I always felt this album very "Destiny" like. This song in particular
The future of rock . . .mix of power and desolation
I enjoyed every single minute of this, and there were more than 9 of them.
Ode To The Author is excellent but Fire By The Silos is killer, my go to album,
can’t stop listening to it
Yeah!!! This was my favorite song of the album!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Takes a long inhale from a pipe. “Nah man.. see society, is like a bag man. And the man is us man, we like think we’re free to the elements and world around us. Around 3:40 sounds a little like the caudal lure by karnivool but then takes you in a complete different direction. Brilliant song this.
Totally fell in love with this song - especially the ending verse/outro. Beautiful. Fantastic work.
- i can listen to a track like this . . . all day long.
Blown away by this! I consider this a masterpiece that has moved me as much as any music I've ever heard. Congrats to all involved in creating this audio and visual thunderstorm!
God damn. You guys really took it to the next level. Fantastic song & video!
Shivers all over!! Sooooo good!!! Thumbs up!!!
So proud to be your fan. Toska is the best!
Man this is awesome. I can't believe it has only 80k views. All the gear-stuff seems to get so much more attention than actual music these days. :-(
Not normally my cup of tea, but as a soundtrack to a movie, that does work for me.
Amazing!! Particularly the section from 4:23 to 5:54
Farkin ripper !!!!!!!!
Awesome
From strength to strength you lads
I can dig that !!!
This is such a beautiful experience. Thank you for this gift to the world, Bea, Ben, & Dave.
Found you via Leo's Toto cover.. Now I'm a fan of ya'll.. --- rocking to this in Texas ---
Exceptional work! Prayermonger is my favourite song from the record, but this video has solidified its position. Great to see how you develop your concept. Keep it up!
Fantastic song, fantastic video clip! Nothing more to say...

"Ironmonger" Robbie, good name. I think the number is great. Well done!! Plenty of variety. Excellent video and audio too. Fabulous...

Great music as always!
Brilliant journey - music and imagery - new princes of prog
Those visuals! Wow
Toska never disappoints.
