Thank you to Mobot for lending us some demo bikes to ride during our week in Singapore! More bike shop tour videos - ruclips.net/video/CcIEsp-n4no/видео.html
Love Mobot's bike so much! I have been using the Mobot Royale folding bike for over 2 years. It is really convenient and comfortable. I can take it everywhere (train, plane or car...)👍 Especially the new upgrade of Mobot makes me really like it. I climb mountains much more gently. I feel like it's a miniature of a road bike. Thuong❤
That's neat that Mobot has ebikes too. I originally discovered this channel, because I had been cycling to work for the past 10 years, and decided to one day educate myself a bit, lol. I was never really a bike expert, and I'm still not. I just had a bike from high school (Giant Sedona), and just rolled with that as my standard commuter bike for so long. Anyways, I decided to start Youtubing bikes, cycling, commuting tricks and tips. And that's how I found this channel. So I've never been a hobbyist, but I value my riding experience. I find cycling to be much more enjoyable than driving a car. Cycling always kinds of reminds me of that part in Forest Gump, towards the end where Forest is telling Jenny about his adventures, and they pan to some exceptionally beautiful scenes of him running across America. Past that mirrored lake, and jogging down that empty road. It feels like the whole world is at peace, and all one notices is the tender moments of magic that exist in the everyday that we so often miss. There are trips I took many years ago, and I still can remember the way the sun sparkled over the horizon or how the crisp air danced against my cheeks. The way the leaves sound as they shake up above. For the longest time, I never once thought about upgrading my bike, or even considering there were other options. I rode my Sedona for over a decade, and enduring all the wear and tear associated with it. It wasn't until this last year I decided to look into getting an e-bike. Something I could be a little more lazy with, but still enjoy the outside comfortably. I wanted storage options and just to learn a little more about cycling. I ended up getting my first folding, and electric bike at the same time. The Lectric XP 2.0. I wanted a folding bike, because being able to stash it in a car and travel opened up a lot of opportunities for me. And I'm really happy to see e-bikes pick up in popularity. Lectric is a really great 'entry level' company, but I'm certain in the future I'll probably upgrade to a better cycle for sure. I want something that weighs less. ------------ One thing that really caught me off-guard in my quest to learn more about cycling is just how many older people are getting into e-bikes. I joined a bunch of social groups for Lectric specifically, and I'd say like 70% of the people buying them are older folks 50-70 year range. A lot of them get the foldable ebikes for their RVs and campers. Apparently they're really useful to get around campsites with, and being foldable makes them easy to store. The sad part is there's a lot of stories of 50 year olds getting 'their first bike,' and throttling it straight into a ditch and then swearing off cycling forever. It's hard for me to understand, because I grew up cycling my whole life, as a kid and into my adulthood. So the idea of never touching a bike ever until 50 seems so foreign and strange. And then to hear stories of these people who hardly know how to ride a normal bike jumping straight into an E-bike and cruising around recklessly is nuts! I think the part that frustrates me the most is when someone does something reckless or stupid, and then blames the hobby on it. Man, this post is all over the place. Keep up the good work as always!
Thank you for sharing! Cycling is really great since it can be fun or useful for people of all ages. Especially with new ebike technology allowing people of different abilities to ride comfortably together.
Welcome to sg! Been watching u since Japan. There are few must try circuits. One is TMCR to Changi Village, have a meal take some nice photos at the jetty and back along the coast. (U can detour to Jurrasic Mile before the start of TMCR). The other is along Singapore River to Marina Bay to East Coast Park and back. Another good slow but beautiful ride is the Punggol Waterway park. And Ulu Pandan PCN which has an interesting circular bike bridge over the highway. Have fun!
Hello! You were at westgate mobot, where I bought my foldie :D welcome to the west part of SG! You are riding the blue version of my foldie, mine is with the 10 spd with trifold carbon front wheel, it is super comfy and easy to peddle up slope.
Thank you for this tour of this Mobot store - I LOVE the Royale models because they fold up some beautifully, like Bromptons. I just purchased a barely-used Dahon Mariner D7 and it's a great little 20" wheeled foldable bike. These little bikes are a lot of fun to ride, but if you need to cover a lot of miles over X number of hours, they're not ideal, eh?
Insanely good deals and a great product. Been using my folding bike for commuting to work for over 6 months now thanks to your channel. I haven't missed a day. I even take it on the train here in Korea and tour other cities with it. Total game changer. Only one problem with your video, its too short!
That's awesome! It was so nice being able to bring the folding bikes onto the train without putting them in a bag (Japan). Especially being able to roll them through the station was so nice.
Very neat bike shop! I’ve never ridden a foldable bike. I like that there are many colors to choose from. Sometimes I have my car serviced (or similar) and have nothing to do for about an hour or two. Would be neat to have a foldable bike to cruise around town in the meantime. Looks like one of those bikes would fit in the trunk of my car (much better than my road or mountain bike).
What a terrific choice of models with some great colour options ! Pity they dod not seem to sell that comfy gel saddle for Thuong chan; maybe this means her current one does not feel quite right , and as a woman, I fully emphasise ! And yes please, I would love to see one of the mountain trails !
TWC, yes those 4 wheel carts are like the Mobility scooters that the elderly and disabled people often ride the streets in Australia, they come in all sorts of sizes, I've even seen them towing trailers to the supermarket carrying their zimmer frame.
It was actually your channel that turned me onto the idea of folding bikes. Really wanted to get one ever since I watched those vids. Unfortunately, no Mobot stores on this continent and don't really want to take the chance of ordering one and having it damaged in shipping either. Not a fan of their bling, though, but, really like that they've gone beyond the Bromptons with respect to the gearing options (even with the onboard bike computer too). And, they're substantially less expensive too. Would you consider their build quality equal to the Bromptons?
I'm not an expert on build quality and I have limited experience with Brompton, but I have been riding this bike for the last year and everything has held up really well so I think the build quality is good. The biggest issue is having a support network for repairs outside of Singapore since other bike shops may not be able to or willing to do service on them. I also am not a big fan of too much bling, but luckily they have some less bling options (my bike for example is mostly all black). Another nice thing with the price discount is it can be worth going to Singapore to pick the bike up in person. The savings alone will help pay for most of a plane ticket.
Singapore has many brands of trifold bike beside Brompton - Pikes, 3Sixty, Aceoffix, Garcia, Royale, Ethereal, etc. Trifold is popular because it makes bringing onto public transport (train) so easily. You could take a train ride back home if you hit into thunderstorm when you are at the other side of the island.
Was hoping mobot had a rental programme for the bikes, but seems like its a special arrangement for you both. Would be great if you could share bike renting options for proper road bikes and/or folding bikes. Ive moved away from Singapore but occasionally return for short trips. Too inconvenient to travel with my roadie so hoping I could easily rent one during my next trip.
It would be great if more shops had rental programs. It seems like there are some rental options for road bikes in Singapore when we searched online, though not sure about larger sizes
Oh this is so awesome. I subscribed just now, these bikes are so cool. I’ve never had a folding bike before but I live on the fourth floor in my apartment building and carrying my bike up and down is stressful. I have a BMX bike and I love it but I wish I could fold it up. We don’t have an elevator in my building either and even if we did I’m not an elevator person lol
I like the store. Small, but dedicated to a specific brand. Very cool. I have a Dahon Vitesse I7. I don't know how it compares to your Royale folding bikes, but I don't care for how mine handles. Too squirrelly. Hard to keep a straight line. One thing I really like about the bike, though, is that it has a 7-speed internal hub which shifts very smoothly. The Royale looks so much like the Brompton. Have you compared them? If you plan on traveling a bit with your own folding bikes, that luggage you pointed out might be a good investment. Which one do I like? I'll take the model Thuong is riding. I'm partial to red, and with the gold components . . . wow! But I'll take an internal geared hub over the derailleur, as I'm spoiled now after using one🙂. Love the video. Looking forward to your journeys around Singapore, even though it's a short trip this time. Have a good one.
We've only ridden Brompton for a short time, but I think in terms of ride quality it is mostly the same. Though Brompton has some different options like titanium builds, I think Mobot offers more frame colors and gearing options now at a lower price point (if you are able to buy in Singapore)
I would have thought Thuong will pick the blue with the purple case. Matching her attire during the bike visit 🤭.. Q. Is the mud guard originally fitted when you bought royale folding bikes?
Love your videos did look into purchasing a mobot bike when i did my research i was shock on the price for a brompton clone .and shipping is a joke Over 775+$ to ship to Canada . It ended up buying a brompton for few bucks more no regrets great bikes for apartment living.
Thank you! Yes, unfortunately it becomes very expensive if you ship to the West. But it can be a great deal if you are traveling over this way and can pick it up during a trip.
Wow! Great show and tell on these folding bikes. Never dreamed of such a variety of two-wheelers even a few years ago. Bikes are definitely becoming “a thing” nowadays. A concern is that on weekends, even week days, there can be too many cyclists around town and the pathways/trails/streets/parks get pretty crowded to the point where if you aren't highly alert, you could have a collision or other mishap. So, maybe we shouldn't over promote cycling as we could end up spoiling what is now a good thing by having too many cyclists clogging up urban environments and eventually the mountainous terrains. So, cycling congestion could be lurking right around the corner as this activity becomes more and more appealing. Still, the video was exciting to watch, and it makes us want to go out and buy one of those nifty, folding bicycles.
Yes, the risk of accidents increases, but hopefully it also shows there is a need for even more cycling paths 😃 We didn't notice anything too bad with the beginner cyclists here, it was easy mode compared to the crazy roads here in Vietnam 😂
Nice! Been a follower since you guys are still in japan. I bought a trifold bike because of your videos. I am planning to cycle around sg early next year. Cant wait to bring my bike there. Do you know how much is the foldie luggage? Looks really awesome. More power to your channel!
Awesome! It depends on the airline, but if you pack it right you can usually fly with it without any extra fees. We've had good luck with VietJet Air so far.
Insta360 x3 gives you the most options / angles, but editing time is longer. GoPro 8 and above is good for in camera stabilization and no extra editing required to the raw video files.
Those folding bikes are soooo cooool! I would love to own one but I'm always Cautious because I am on the heavier side, and I'm not sure if they would support me + baggage. So, not yet for me... but maybe one day. They look really cool nevertheless!
Do these bikes come close to Bromptons hand built by craftsmen quality? Personally I find the gold to be tacky, I’m sure it’ll be okay in Singapore, Vietnam etc but would soon become tarnished if used daily in England, the home of Brompton .
@@TwoWheelCruise In the UK 20 year old Bromptons are still used daily by commuters, I’m torn between a Brompton and a Bike Friday Diamond Lama. I just love small wheeled bikes and having an injured inoperable back problem cycling helps and low or step through frame is essential. Royales Litepro’s etc aren’t much cheaper in the Uk due to import duties and delivery etc. But I do value your opinion thank you.
Went to the Mobot website, doesn't give good detailed information. Are all the bikes carbon fiber, aluminum alloy or what? My wife is shorter than most, this looks like a good bicycle for her. Not even sure they sell in the US or if shipping charges would be prohibitive in the US, they do not give US pricing, lots of questions.
They mostly sell in Singapore currently, but they do online orders internationally. Depending on the country though, the shipping and customs can be quite expensive. You can try contacting them for a quote.
Welcome to SG Singapore is small island Very beautiful city but very expensive city You and your wife must stay in SG for many years I hope you and your wife become Singapore PR I went to know your folder bike together how much
I like the colors of both bikes, they match the colors of the San Francisco 49ers of the NFL and the Golden State Warriors of the NBA. I currently live in San Francisco Bay Area and I own two foldies, but they don’t fold the same way as those bikes
@@TwoWheelCruise In the Philippines, these are probably more expensive compared to other brands like Dahon and Tern. Are these bikes available in the States?
In Singapore, Brompton is super popular, as you probably noticed during your ride around SG. 😅That said, Royale looks good, too. I'll consider for my next bike!
This is not the main reason, but something else we wanted to do while here. We've been trying to plan a trip to visit and experience Singapore for a few years now.
Thank you to Mobot for lending us some demo bikes to ride during our week in Singapore!

Good prices for those folding ebikes!
Do they provide delivery to india?
They ship internationally
@@TwoWheelCruise Thank you for your reply...do you have their official website to order?
Those folding bikes are soooo cooool! I would love to own one but I'm always Cautious because I am on the heavier side, and I'm not sure if they would support me + baggage. So, not yet for me... but maybe one day. They look really cool nevertheless!
They are really cool, but yeah I think they have a lower weight limit compared to full size bikes. I believe these are about 100kg.
@@TwoWheelCruise Yeah I know, I was checking them... and with baggage and so, that's not an option for me unfortunately
I've been planning to buy a foldable bike. Does a folding bike can have two gears?
They are usually between 1-10 gears depending on price. More gears = more expensive usually.
Do these bikes come close to Bromptons hand built by craftsmen quality? Personally I find the gold to be tacky, I’m sure it’ll be okay in Singapore, Vietnam etc but would soon become tarnished if used daily in England, the home of Brompton .
I don't know how they compare, but we have been riding them for a year now with no issues so they seem to be durable with good quality.
야..로얄 자전거 너무 칼라가 예쁘네요....한국에서도 판매했으면...브롬톤보단 가성비가 좋겠죠...?
Mobot Bike❤U👍👍👍🇮🇩
Went to the Mobot website, doesn't give good detailed information. Are all the bikes carbon fiber, aluminum alloy or what? My wife is shorter than most, this looks like a good bicycle for her. Not even sure they sell in the US or if shipping charges would be prohibitive in the US, they do not give US pricing, lots of questions.
They mostly sell in Singapore currently, but they do online orders internationally. Depending on the country though, the shipping and customs can be quite expensive. You can try contacting them for a quote.
Very nice :)
thank! best video-work!buddy,=)
Thank you!
太棒了👍👍👍
$13.99 Sing for a bike?. Is it true?

Depends on the specs you want. You can see some of the prices in this video or on their website.

Almost heaven for every foldie bike rider😸😸 price range please Ty
Best to check their website for price range, lots of different options.
👌 wow
Please ask Mobot to open a shop in Japan!
Would be cool to see them expand internationally.
Welcome to SG
Singapore is small island
Very beautiful city but very expensive city
You and your wife must stay in SG for many years
I hope you and your wife become Singapore PR
I went to know your folder bike together how much
Thank you! We hope to come back longer.
I like the colors of both bikes, they match the colors of the San Francisco 49ers of the NFL and the Golden State Warriors of the NBA. I currently live in San Francisco Bay Area and I own two foldies, but they don’t fold the same way as those bikes
I imagine folding bikes must be tough on some of those hills
@@TwoWheelCruise In the Philippines, these are probably more expensive compared to other brands like Dahon and Tern. Are these bikes available in the States?
Mobot 🥰
Your girlfriend is cute and always carries that genuine smile on her face.
She's the best "wife" 😉
I'm planning to purchase a motorized bike, but waiting for prices to drop, they seemed overpriced currently.
Should go down a bit as stock goes up.
In Singapore, Brompton is super popular, as you probably noticed during your ride around SG. 😅That said, Royale looks good, too. I'll consider for my next bike!
We saw so many people outside riding both while we were in Singapore. It was really cool to see.
Now I understand why you are here in Singapore.
This is not the main reason, but something else we wanted to do while here. We've been trying to plan a trip to visit and experience Singapore for a few years now.
