    Hey Soleyman! Thanks for this video, I am currently working as a junior Full-stack engineer, getting a lot of exposure to DevOps and hoping to transition into a cloud engineer role in a year or so. Would you be able to make a video talking about how interviews for this role are usually? How easy/difficult do you think it is to transition from software engineer to cloud? I am also self-taught, so no CS bacground. Many thanks :)

    I'm in an AWS re/start program now. I am seriously considering finishing up on the skillbuilder portion of the program, and scheduling my exam early, but still following along with the training. We are in database training now. We covered Linux, Compute, Security, and Python already. I'm excited about this career move.

    Hi, I saw you're video while searching about cloud engineer roadmaps. I have zero knowledge about programming and wanted to become a cloud engineer so bad. Can I ask if I can join the AWS restart without prior knowledge about coding or programming or do I need to study some subjects so that I can understand the subjects covered in the bootcamp?

      you shouldn't do it because it's required, do it if you like it, there are endless other jobs in demand but find one you enjoy

    • @michael43567
      @michael43567 7 месяцев назад

      I'm ignorant to your field of work, but isn't aerospace engineering pretty future proof? And isn't it a pretty specialist area?

    • @anthonyfelix5345
      @anthonyfelix5345 7 месяцев назад +1

      @michael43567 yes true. I don't think I used the right wording. The problem with aerospace is that you end up specialising in one area (mine is thermodynamics) which also has more branches of expertise (eg. Thrusters or satellite thermal control). So a thermal control engineer with 5 years experience may be useless for a company looking for a battery thermal engineer. In addition, looking for new jobs usually means moving to specific cities or even countries. What I noticed with cloud, and other tech jobs, is that almost every city have jobs avaliable and this industry continues to grow. So really, when I say future proof, I mean I want to be in an industry which will have an abundance of opportunities regardless of where I live. And if I spend 5 years in cloud I won't be restricted, which, say, 5 years of working in battery thermal engineering might do!

    I have a question - when it comes to CI/CD pipelines as a cloud engineer, let's say you're working with a developer to create them, how do you know what tests to run during the CI stage? Or are these tests something the developer helps with? For example, you might know nothing about .NET development.

    • @MP-wm9gb
      @MP-wm9gb 6 месяцев назад

      Developers who are experienced in the specific stack are usually the best people to determine what tests are necessary. They can define unit tests, integration tests, and any other specific tests that are relevant to the codebase and the technology used. Don't be afraid to ask and have a chat with your developers about these things, they will help out.
      If they do not know - ask their superior.

    • @servantofgod1374
      @servantofgod1374 6 месяцев назад

      @@MP-wm9gb Thanks, that makes sense. So as I understand, the developers/QA can help with setting up any tests at the CI stage - otherwise as a cloud engineer completely normal if you're not sure about these tests etc?
