I befriended a Marine lifer after taking my neighbor's gang kid under my wing. When kid was in lockdown the marine would call to let me know. After 26 years he was released and is now a saint in the homeless streets of Los Angeles. What an amazing story he has to tell but how very sad you see the effects of the system and what they left on his life. How long were you in for Shaun? How do you help someone in their prison speech? You do so well. This dear gentle... GENTLEman struggles. It may have to do with where you began? Hmmm... something to ponder. I have followed you for a long time yet this is the first time this man has come to mind. Let me know if you'd like to meet him. xoxo
Mate I have spent time in prison and you have to be so careful with who you interact with. You did the right thing in the toilets with that guy. Kill or be killed. Men will kick off over the most trivial of things. They stayed away from me as the rumour on the landings was that I was a psychopath and would kill any co-pilot who was bunked up with me. I was mentally ill when I committed my crimes. It took over three months for me to leave my cell other than for showering and food. The reputation stuck with me and I was not gonna try and convince anyone that I was not. All about reputation if you loose face expect a hard time. M

i was cleaning the toilets on C wing when someone jumped on my back and smashed my teeth out !!!!!!
A few things don't add up.
I never saw rats inside the main buildings . The mufti squad don't rock up to your cell and suddenly give you a free pass. If they've gone to the trouble to get togged up in riot gear you're going to get a Fucken good kick in no matter how passive or polite you are . You don't go down the stairs , its down the spiral staircase and up the stairs. Stopped watching after that . Word of advice, if you find yourself in gaol , educate yourself , keep fit , don't borrow anything , don't grass ( a given ) or complain and dont upset anyone irrespective of who you think they are and generally mind your own business.
I volunteered for the bomb squad in Armley mate I did anything to get out on 23 hr lockup. I was in Armley the year before they stopped slop out.
Don't know if you read these comments Shaun but have I got a story for you. I got full pay which was 22 pounds an hour from HPS while I was in there. Hard to believe but true.
