"You don't understand, if you understand you give me the point", Benny Paire may be a character...but he's 100% right here. I feel bad for him, especially when he's behaving.
Opponent really showed bad sportsmanship here. Umpire knew Fognini was right, but apparently there is a rule not calling it out immediately or something. Opponent should have forfeited the point. You could even see the look on his face after hitting the ball it bounced twice.
Marchenko standing there right after he ,,won” the point waiting for the decision. He knew it exactly. Don’t know why professionals are not able to play fair. Has nothing to do with wanting to win. Reason why won’t be anywhere near paire.
Yeah Paire got shafted in this one. The ball definitely had topspin and a bit of pace behind it which is impossible if he got it before the 2nd bounce. Marchenko was even waiting for the not-up call lol
I’m really glad Paire won. Officials making terrible calls is one thing, but Marchenko cheated big time. He 100% knew he hadn’t made that shot. As an aside though, how an umpire can admit that he knew the ball bounced twice and still award the point to Marchenko is truly baffling.
he said that in these cases the umpire should call the “not up” as soon as the ball leaves the player’s racquet…so waiting for the ball to bounce on the other court to check if it has top spin would take too long hence going against the rules
Kukushkin is down in his service game, swears and gets a code violation. Then Kukuskin complains and asks for supervisor, sits down and gets some rest, then gets up and wins his service game. How can the umpire allow that? Should have just given him time violations until he continues playing like what happened to Shelbayh. I think the ATP needs to stop players from doing this obvious gamesmanship, if Kukushkin wants to argue he can do it at the changeover. Interrupting your opponent's rhythm outside of points isn't in the spirit of the sport, so shouldn't be allowed.
are you serious dude? he didnt say anything bad, its a language barrier, why don't we talk about the umpire who gets Kukushkin every time, but when Johnson said a bad word, she just kept silent
Why are the comments saying Y.Kahn should be fired? She handled all situations professionally and explained her decisions clearly, called the supervisor immediately and didn’t get flustered at all. Great umpiring.
Maybe the most annoying thing tennis players do is when they think they can say a curse word in a different language and then they pretend they didn't. Like, just own up to it. You get caught you get caught.
Also, stopping because he "can't continue" mid-way through a game, gets a quick foot rub from the physio and is back out there sliding around like it's a clay court? Rubbish.
Sorry my bad english i am Spanish, this message will be from the google translator : I would like to congratulate you on your work, tennis advocate, your videos are getting better every day and the work you do is very difficult and very complete. I love your channel. Your videos are now the ones I look forward to the most every week of all the content on RUclips. Keep it up, I love you so much. You are amazing. ❤
Am I hearing things or did the umpire literally agree with paire that the ball bounced twice but was still giving the other guy the point? I understand Paire is a character but I would be livid too
Nah, Fognini always try to bully opponents mentally if he’s outclassed physically just because he’s the senior player. Respect isn’t given based on past accolades especially not to ones who don’t respect the game enough to give their full efforts. Shelton can be annoying but delaying the game because your ego is hurt is categorically cheating.
Yeah, it's ok if he does it on his own good points, but screaming like that on unforced errors from opponents is just bad sportsmanship, no matter how joyful and funny Shelton can be during his matches.
It may be over the top but it's not against the rules, so he needs to get over it. It's not like Fognini hasn't annoyed other players with his clownish antics throughout his career, so he of all people is really is in no position to be complaining about anything.
The double bounce situation in the Paire match was a disaster, man if you saw the ball bounced twice give the f*cking point to the Paire, what does it mean "I saw it but didn't give you the point", every player would've gone mad at that situation. Also I'm tired of Nishioka, mate if you are gonna outburst once every 2 match you better hire a psychologist because it's getting ridicolus
The ball double bounced before Marchenko got to it but Marchenko was awarded the point. The umpire said he accepts Paire is right (that it was a double bounce) but because he didn’t call it straight away, he can’t overturn the decision.
Watching all these videos (really thanks for great effort) i feel disgusted at the amount of self-entitledness and lack of basic education/manners/polite behaviour. It is painful to watch how rude and maleducated human (person?) is stubborn in making his/her point and not letting it go even if it is evident brake of rule (i suppose they should understand rules of the sport they do) and even if the argument is pointless or complete waste of energy/time, also knowing how much money they earn..also it is interesting to see the increase of agressive behaviour and mental instability and mental disorders (one example: why do they keep punching the ball into crowd, they should know it might be dangerous, that used to be beyond possible and imaginable 20-30 years ago)-do they take some dangerous supplements or it is a matter of new generations?
There should be a point system that umpires get for terrible calls, once they rack up points to a certain amount there should be penalties (but I will give it to some that humans do occasionally make mistakes ofc)
why on earth the referees accept to repeat and repeat the same things and why on earth the players keep repeat and repeat the same things... Do they think it makes it more right to repeat? Do you imagine going in front of a judge in a court and keep repeating the same thing without receiving a fee?
I can't stand the constant attitude from Paire, but he was 100% correct about that double bounce. Even the umpire admitted it but I guess umpires can't overturn their own decisions? Very strange.
In USOpen they'll start to do smth like VAR you know in football review the moment for double bounce allegations probably that's great tennis is coming to 2010's decade now.

Umpire didn't see it. Bad luck for Paire (who continued to behave like a child).
Paire's imitation of Marchenko is gold! He was right though, poor sportsmanship by Marchenko for not recognizing the double bounce

Flentie handled that second clip very well imo. Very clear and concise reasoning behind his POV.
Shelbayh was entitled to a supervisor. Point penalty shouldn't be awarded here.
