I have one of these connected to the renogy 100ah smart battery.. Works great!! Just testing it out with a bar fridge. Only downside is it draws 1.2 amps per hour (29 amps per day) on stand by. Which adds up over a few rainy days when the solar system can't replenish the battery... And then plus the loads your trying to run offit also. I probably need a bigger battery bank. But batteries still ain't that cheap.. Anyway. Just thought I'd share.
@@MJermMer I've been running the bar fridge continuously for the past couple days and got down to 25% on the battery before I put the battery on the house charger. I know it might be weird but I'm trying to run the fridge for camping instead of the 12v. Just testing it out to see if it's worth it
@@4wdglampingaustralia102 So, a 140ah agm running a 1000w microwave for say 10 minutes. I worked it out to 16 amps, allowing for 15% inverter inefficiency. But the max discharge rate, that's new to me.
@@GregRickard maybe look up the battery online. From what I know about AGMs (isn’t that much) they are not meant for big discharges. That’s where lithium really shines as it allows you to use house hold appliances that you could never use before in 4wd or caravans.AGMs are great for LED lights and fridges. Low amp but when you want grunt they are not really suited.
@@MJermMer I think i found the answer. So my original question was a scenario if you have a converter already installed (one of those rv units that has breakers for 110/240 and 12v) how do you wire the two to make a harmonious connection but in reality. They live independently of one another, both connecting directly to the battery terminals.
Been going really well. My iPhone doesn’t like to be charged off it but it runs a microwave, coffee pod machine and induction cooker just fine. Honestly can not complain. I’ll do a follow up with some tests 👍
Just means you can plug the inverter into the wall socket to run appliances off.. Not sure why you would however as you would just skip the inverter and go strait to the appliances
@@4wdglampingaustralia102 sorry, mate. The UPS is very important for backup. I just want to know more about it before I buy this inverter. I can't find any reviews at all. You may be the first one to do so. Thanks anyway. I do appreciated your video.
Bought it from Renogy Aust. Got two 100ah smart lithium’s with it. Batteries arrived in 3-4 days. The inverter was on back order. It arrived in around 8 days.
It’s so you can plug the inverter directly into a wall socket to run the 240v appliances. Basically once you plug it into the wall it switches from using battery power over to mains power.
Hey mate, Im another aussie looking at buying one of these units, interested to see how well it performs. Also how long on postage did it take to get to you, and does our AC sockets fit and operate in the universal socket or will it need a adaptor?
Hey J.C, sorry didnt see the comment. It was on back order but arrived in about 8 days. The batteries arrived in 3 days. Really good service. It has universal sockets so accepts the Aussie style plug. So far im very happy with it.
Wanna get the 3 KW one, but these use deathdaptors , not proper AU sockets
deathdaptors?
Its a universal socket.

I only switch it on when using it.

Wondering if my 140ah agm could power one of these with a 1000w microwave. I know there's an equation...
Gotta work out your max discharge rate for the battery in amps then compare to the microwave max watts. Do the conversion from there.
@@4wdglampingaustralia102 How do i work that out, the discharge rate?

@@4wdglampingaustralia102 ok cool tx for that info.
Looking at buying through Renogy also. Any opinions/review of their batteries?
Yup got two 100ah smart lithium’s. They are awesome. Buy it.
How does this connect if you have a converter installed?
Not sure I understand you. You connect it to a battery. It turns 12v into 240v

Direct from Renogy Australia

about the size of a credit card
