Great video, but if you squeeze yours hands there is no need to open the air box and the alternator,i was surprised to see you did all but its ok for others to learn how to open the other stuff
is the captive nut visible from underneath on a hoist ??
what a lovely job Toyota gave us . Not , stupid place to put it ,there i was thinking when i went and brought a thermostat, it would be a ezy job .🤣 and i have big hands 🤒 tnx for the grate video
Hey mate what thickness aluminium did you use?
Don’t drill holes in your floor, as hurricane fabrications has stated, they seat adaptor rails have been updated to accommodate for centre consoles. Don’t drill a hole in your floor pan
Excellent Thankyou I Am researching these for my 2003 Mit Challenger Only change is one battery needs to be located within the cab. Thankyou very informative
Amazon sells them for $23 already built
They just copied this weak design with a weak light, i made my own using one of these exact 48 watt flood lights i got at a junkyard (for free) but i extended the harness and have the light bolted to a large magnet (also free) thats heavy enough to work as a base for the big light and will stick well enough to metal that i drove around 75 mph with it stuck to the roof of my truck, all in all i think i paid just 12 bucks for 2 adapters on ebay.
How much coolant does it take motor +radiator
Sooooo much wasted space!
have you done a capacity test of your batteries yet? Would be interesting to see mine did not do to well after 16 month and 30.000km. ruclips.net/video/vRcSPuBob-I/видео.html
Well bugger me.... this just saved me a headache. Exactly where you said it was. Thank you so much for this info. Legend mate 👍👍👍
On a NA 1hz its literally 2 bolts. use a 1/4" and unibit and unbolt.
Can i swap out my second aux battery and install one of these batteries in my fortuner ? I already have bcdc1240d
Yup sure can
Love it ... good work.
Great that's was helpful as I have a 1hz-c in a 1999 coaster and was trying to find out where it was located now even harder to get to on a bus 🚌 😊
Gday just wondering would this nut be in my 1994 hzj75 because I don’t wanna drill this hole then find out there is no nut
It’s a leap of faith. No way to know for sure unless the gearbox is out
Is it still working?
Sure is.. Hasn't missed a beat
Like the idea of the fridge on slides and is what I am looking to do. As it is, can you easily remove the fridge with your current setup? Basically, do those slides allow it or would you have to take it all apart? Just thinking about having a quick release setup etc.
Hi guys great install thanks for sharing ! I’m thinking of doing the same. I’m just wondering if it’s secured to the original seat mounting points? I want to mount a fridge on the plywood platform, I’m just concerned about the stability of the connec-it square tube if there’s a lot of weight on it.. the frame pieces are only tapped in together and not welded. Any feedback after some long term use ? Would be much appreciated cheers
Still going strong. You could increase strength by putting more uprights to hold more weight if need be. I think as is it would take the weight of a fridge easily 👍
What is the width of this? 8inch??
Hopefully the fridge is good because all there other stuff is very average
Still kicking along dude
Hi there boy's just wondering wot happened to Renogy inverter did have troubles with it I'm purchasing won soon, look to forward to hear from you thanks.
Still going strong mate. Pretty good but of kit. I have used a kickass one as well and that’s a ripper too. Few more functions on it which is nice. Can recommend both
Many years ago l was up north in my very old troopy. It was so fn hot, obviously it was running hot and using lots of diesel. We stopped at a truck stop and army guys were there, they diagnosed the issue in 2 seconds, pulled out the thermostat and threw it over the shoulder. Ya don't need a thermostat in Qld mate, they said, bolted it back with liquid gasket and went alot better
Hi mate, I have a question. When you mentioned, you had a feeling the thermostat wasn’t working. What the needle on the dash boards doing at the times? Very high or no reading at all. Cheers 🍻
Would run fine in traffic but as soon as it hit a hill of any sort temp would creep even at 100kph then drop again once the hill was over. I knew the fan was working so it could only be a blocked thermostat or temp gauge sender
@@4wdglampingaustralia102 thanks you, for my future reference .
Great video mate. I will be putting the exact same kit in my 79. It just makes so much more sense than a DCDC charger system that will only charge at 30-50aH and take hours of driving.
They work really well. Really good for winching and lights. They charge super fast as well. I still have a dcdc with another 200ah of lithium in the canopy. 😀
@@4wdglampingaustralia102 3rd seems a redundant ? Are you charging from the alternator with that as well?
@@miggity_mac The Victron smart battery protect goes to a 50a circuit breaker then into a redarc manager 30 that charges two 100ah renogy lithiums. The canopy runs off them. I usually have the circuit breaker set to off and only charge the canopy batteries via solar. However If I need extra power, maybe it’s cloudy I switch the circuit breaker on and then they can charge from the alternator through the DCS batteries. You can’t run a inverter through the victron SBP which means you need really thick wire to run from the engine bay back to a inverter in the canopy. It’s way overkill but I have a combined 380ah to use. You can run a Incab slimline 200ah as a start battery and not have any battery in the engine bay. This means you don’t have to run mega thick cable all the way from the bay to a canopy into a inverter. I already had the two batteries in the canopy and the manager 30 when I bought the DCS. I killed a expensive start battery and a AGM that needed replacing. Swap both heavy ass batteries that would cost about $1k combined for two light weight lithiums with more power for just over $2k.
@@4wdglampingaustralia102 ok so you had existing gear that you’re using. Makes sense. Mine will be a new build and the dual kit makes the most sense. However I am I’m a bit of pickle with where to put the inverter. Not sure where I’m going to put it, in the cab behind the seat and run the 240 to the canopy or as you said above that you will need like 0 B&S from the bonnet to the canopy.
@@miggity_mac yup this is where it gets difficult. Mighty big cables to run beneath the car.
Great video mate
Thankyou Sir
Hi hong long it will last for full chage
Longest I’ve had it on was over 4 hours
I did the same thing when my reciprocating saw died. I cut off the battery slide and wired it to a light. Cost $15
Kings don't sell these anymore unfortunately
They do
They've made afew changes because bushman tried to sue them

Smart Battery Connect needs to be in the cabin I think because it's not waterproof ? Correct me if I'm wrong
You are 100% correct. Been amended 👍

You just push it and it moves clear
@@4wdglampingaustralia102 do I need to run factory positive wires from alternator to one battery and chassis and engine earth to the other battery so they charge evenly?

Hi mate just wondering how you wired up the gme adapter in the dash? thanks mate
Look up GME dash socket. The cable just plugs directly into the back of it. Simple 👍
How long does it last with the 5 amp hour battery, and will it wreck the battery runing it low or do the Milwaukee batteries have a low voltage cut off ?
genial
Hey mate I'm pretty sure you've done it wrong. You put the tap thread on the "water output". Screw it onto the "water input" and then you can connect a hose straight on it 😅 The shower head should screw onto the output! I brought one (the unit itself) from facebook marketplace today without those components and just used a garden hose tap straight onto the "water input"!! Thank me later 😅👍
Really old vid. Working sensational for some time now. You won’t be disappointed. Do yourself a favour get the new style shower head, the chrome one is terrible. Cheers for the support 👍
@@4wdglampingaustralia102 no worries mate , And thank you for the tip 😎👍
Mine have just arrived in Sydney, should have them in the next couple of days. THEY are not cheap $2596 AUD that's with shipping + the Import tax I wasn't aware of!! $327. But after looking at locally made ones ie Emuwings, Cruiser Company etc I decided these are the best out there for a 80series because they use the existing frame and rubbers. NO DRILLING into the cruiser. Hopefully the install goes well.
Hey Justin, exactly why we did it. Heads up take special note where the little mouldings in the rubbers are around the windows. Make sure they go in with the mouldings in exactly the same spot otherwise you get some gaps around the rubbers and the body. Look at the rubbers before you take them out and mark the corners across the rubber onto the body with a texta or pen. Make sure they go in exactly in the same place 👍
@@4wdglampingaustralia102 awesome tip. Thanks. These should be a great match for my full Drifta Draws setup that went in a couple of months ago. And mounting the arb twin compressor n 4L tank in the sidewing. Easy access thanks to the gullwings
Could be a good time to get brand new rubbers from Toyota and just replace them instead of re-using. Also I note the Yodateq's won't work with an 80 that has fixed glass (not sliding) side cargo windows unless Yodateq also supplies metal mounting frames in the kit. All base model aka DX/pov-pack 80's (of which there are a lot in Australia) do not have sliding/opening cargo windows. Plus almost every 80 has rust around the bottom of the side cargo window openings so that needs to be addressed when the existing windows are out before anything new (or old) is re-fitted. Yodateq's current price btw is US$1575 for a pair, so that's going be at least $3000 here including freight, currency conversion, and import duty (because it's over A$1k including freight).
Mate, i had the very same blue red white stripe shirt. Was my facorite until it got to only under car staus capable, ended up in the great oil soaked rag bin in the dump, sadly missed, got a tear in my eye, vb time, sorry, so upset . Arrggh the memories
Haha 😂
Thanks! Awesome. I have a Hj75 and would like to fit Toyota Camry seats into it. Wondering if I can use the Hurracan kit to do that?
Only one way to find out. 👍
i put a kings 85L upright in my car the other day and the thing seems to run continuously. I replaced a 95L waeco which i never turned off and was always on fridge/freezer mode in the two compartments and it never took my battery below 85% overnight and now my 170AH battery (not kings brand) is below 50% every night. I have a 150w solar on the roof with a good redarc controller and have been plugging in a noco 7.5amp charger and they cant keep up i dont know what the hells going on. I have it set at 6 degrees as per my gauge, which used to read 3 in my waeco.
Make sure the fan is vented in and out. If it blocked fridge will struggle
Every person in the world has a friend like that.
Very clear vid. Many thanks
Great video. Super clear. Thanks
Looks fantastic! Very nice work on the install! How well do they seal up to keep wind and water out?
They seal up fine. No water no wind no noise. They have been fantastic 👍
@@4wdglampingaustralia102 that's great to hear! I will definitely check them out!
Hey mate do you have any measurements of the fridge. Height, length and width please.
Heya Sam. 630 high x 520 deep x 470 wide
@@4wdglampingaustralia102 definitely 520 there website says 560. I’ve got a toolbox which just might squeeze it in that’s why I need to know the real depth
Just what I was looking for. Thanks
What is defrent between thermostat use in top and bottom hose pipe and sepexifaction.? Pl
Not understanding your question. Only one place to put the thermostat
Some engines the coolant outlet and thermostat come in at the top of the radiator, and others at the bottom. In this case with the 1HZ is comes into the bottom
Where do you buy this fridge from? Can you drop us a link where you bought it from? Can't find it anywhere. Thanks
Temporary removed from kings website until all back orders have been fulfilled I’m told
@@4wdglampingaustralia102 I got in touch with them and they estimated late May.
@@mandyweidmann8718 that’s excellent news. 👍
Your not supposed to install the Battery Protect under the bonnet, it's specifically says so on their instructions. Other youtubers made the same mistake and it fails, which then flattens your batteries. Also another common issue is circuit breakers in these types of high current setups. Never use them, they just fail. I went through 3 circuit breakers on a redarc bcdc 1240 charger because a 60 amp circuit breaker still trips after a while with a 40 amp constant load. They are useless and dont have good enough contact internally causing resistance = heat. Redarc specifically stated when I spoke to them that you must use MIDI fuses for these applications in 4x4. I swapped out for a 60 amp midi fuse, works perfectly now and has never failed. The contact on midi fuses is much better, fixes the resistance problem and is reliable.
Hmmm very good points there. Its been going fine but won't hurt to move it inside the cabin. Cheer for that. I guess I better get a MIDI fuse as well. Thanks again
@@4wdglampingaustralia102 no problems mate. Just things I learnt from my own problems. Took me a few years to realize haha
@@Snook_ I haven't had any issues with it hey. I rarely even flick that breaker as well. There is another 200amps of lithium in the canopy so I really use the breaker as a isolator for the canopy. If I go hard on the batteries in the canopy and there isn't much sun I flick it over for a few hours. But yes ill still change the location of the SBC. Don't think ill change the breaker for that reason however as its 99% of the time in the off position.
@@4wdglampingaustralia102 yeah the breaker would only be a problem if it was constantly passing up near it’s rated current. Mine was 60amp 3 diff ones all the same issue. Constant 40-45 amp loads would trip it after a while. MIDI fuse fixes that
spot on!
Mate, DO NOT CUT STEEL NEAR YOUR CAR OR ANY VEHICLE. Hot molten sparks burns through paint. Causes rust spots.
