Jalen Milroe proved his old offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien correct when he told Jalen that he should pick another position to play besides QB.
The LAST two years Jalen has played against *ichigan in their bowl game let’s compare the results to find out where the issues are coming from.
Yes, Seth McLaughlin and Jalen Milroe had alot of snapping thoughout 2023 season. This trend continued in the CFP Rose Bowl semifinal against *ichigan. There were NUMEROUS snapping miscues from mistimed that lead to a bad play, a 16 yard loss bc the was over Jalen’s head, to the one everyone remembers the final play the low snap that changed the play and resulting in a loss.
Shortly after the loss Seth hit the transfer portal and was immediately pursued by THE OHIO STATE. Many Buckeye fans were perplexed because the starting center Carson Hinzman was returning.
Also everyone that saw the Rose Bowl would have not wanted to bring those issues to Columbus, when asked by reporters Ryan Day pointed out (CORRECTLY) "I know that was a little bit of a concern, I think it had a little bit to do with the (quarterback's) cadence or whatever. He's been doing great”
Ryan Day was proven correct when Seth without playing the entire season (injury) STILL won the Rimington Award, which is given to the best center in college football.
Let’s now let’s switch gears to Alabama who continued to have snapping issues this season. Once AGAIN these snapping issues were highlighted in the bowl game against *ichigan.
Jalen Milroe’s performance in this year in the ReliaQuest Bowl was dreadful! He had the EXACT kind of snapping issues that happened in last year’s game. It’s important to remember that *ivhigan was playing WITHOUT defense pick round picks Mason Graham and Will Johnson.
What isn’t talked about alot of MANY opposing coaches started PICKING UP on the fact that Jalen lines up differently before each play depending on if it’s a run or a pass play!!! It’s EASY to spot lining up with feet parallel to the line of scrimmage on running plays versus offsetting his feet on pass plays.
Anyone that know football realizes what a HIUGE advantage this is for the opposing defense. This is why we have seen a SIGNIFICANT drop in his production this year!
I wish nothing but the best from that young man and I’ve seen nothing but great things about him as a person. He is EXTREMELY athletically talented and there’s no question that he belongs on the field in the NFL, BUT just not at quarterback.

Tie NIL money to performance. Start FIRING PLAYERS by benching them if they don’t perform and their NIL money will be reduced. Let players go bankrupt in college before they get to the NFL. Bankruptcy in college will be a more valuable lesson than any remedial math classes they skip. Coaches have lost leverage and players are running programs like a disorganized cesspool as evidenced by the repeated penalties. Last season - defensive back was considered by most analysts - including Nick Saban - as the team's biggest weakness. We got two or three excellent 4 - 5 star recruits this year....but having to play them as freshmen? I thought they got better fast.

Bama’s game plan for most of the season on offense was to establish Jalen as a runner and if it didn’t work, Bama’s offense was shut completely down due to Jalen’s inability to keep the defense honest with the passing game. The Georgia game exemplifies Bama’s season. In the first half, when Jalen could run, Bama’s offense looked unstoppable. But, when Georgia adjusted and stopped that outside QB run, Bama scored 3 points in the second half before that Ryan Williams play. It was run Jalen or bust and that is not a championship offense.

I don't mean leadership as far as guys getting in front of cameras and representing the university and things like that I mean leadership in the sense of getting in guy's faces telling them they're not playing well to step it up or step out of the way. Too many times this year when things weren't going well you'd look at Milroe on the sideline He's just sitting there staring off into nothing not talking to anybody or communicating with anybody.

Glad you're both pulling back on the ridiculous playoff narrative you both were pushing in December.
What happened to Alabama against Michigan wasn't proof they didn't belong in the playoff. What disqualified them was the 3 losses they had in the 12 regular season games they played. Your argument for Alabama's inclusion was how they'd play in hypothetical situations which should never be part of the criteria. The results are the results and we need to live with that. I hope you both can remember that next year.

Everyone loves to blame Milroe, as if he didn’t lead this team with his heart, and gave everything he had to give, to try being the best he could be, and to bring the very best out of the guys along side him. He is an SEC Champion QB for Alabama. And while it’s incredibly easy to point blame his way, and say he was the reason for Alabamas failures. But that is an overly simplistic view, that lacks any context, of what Alabamas problems actually are. Our supposedly great bookend Tackles, got abused to the point that they looked like they belonged at an FCS school, at different points this season. Our receivers were giving full effort, about half of the time, if that. Running back room was good but it’s hard for them to be their best with any consistency, when dealing with the same issues in the blocking and protection unit, that hurt the rest of the offense. And I will warn anyone, don’t get your hopes up for Ty to win the starting job. He has a lot of confidence in pushing the ball down the field, and I’ve yet to see a single good reason for that confidence to exist. Even in the recent A Day game, he loves throwing the ball down the field, often times at the wrong team. Against Mercer a few weeks ago, he had 3 consecutive passes, that would’ve all been INT, if it had just been Auburns backup DBs on the field, instead of Mercer starters. Because they were all terrible passes, into bad coverage, and all underthrown.

Well unless you're a blind man and watch these games and did not see what was going on. Then part of the blame is definitely for the quarterback. Some of the offensive line and some on the office of coordinator. And then your quarterback is basically tipping plays with his foot placement. When your quarterback can't see open receivers that's his problem that's not anyone else's problem but his.

I don’t blame him for doing what ever he has to do to get away from some of you heartless idiots that claim to be fans. I’m not an Alabama fan but all I’ve heard is how it’s his fault for losing games. If I recall it still takes eleven men to play the game of football not just one. He didn’t lose those games all by himself, I’m sure he ran the play that was sent in to him from coaches on the sidelines. So if the play is wrong for the particular defense that is being played it’s not always going to work. Not his fault, if he’s handling the ball off to a back and the line isn’t blocking well enough to spring him, not his fault, and if his throwing passes that aren’t being caught by the receivers, not his fault. I can go and on. Some of you people act like everything that went wrong or goes wrong is all his fault. I bet the truth be known deep in his heart he regrets ever coming to Alabama just to be humiliated every single day. You people are really good confidence builders for this young man. I hope to see the day that this kid turns out to be a real good quarterback and all the idiots that threw the most 💩at him has to eat it someday.

And the poorest Coached. And why mechanical issues are so HUGE is that they go straight to what maybe is the most important of all the components of a successful QB in THE Big-Boy league. And that is accuracy.Or in Jalen's case total lack, thereof, more than 1/2 of the time of being able to throw a football where it is needed to be thrown.
