UPDATE: Thanks guys for letting me know that there is suppose to be an additional panel at the base of the neck that should hide the robot mode fist when you guys get yours :) thanks so much for checking it out!

I really love Transmetal 2 Dragon 🐉 Megatron 😃! Despite Dragon Megatron's face not a screen accurate, but for articulation and dragon mode is awesome 😎. The accessory for Transmetal 2 Dragon Megatron is pretty cool too, the flame 🔥 effect, such a super sweet touch, for my opinion 😁. I will keep Transmetal 2 Dragon Megatron in dragon form 🐉 only because his dragon form so fantastic looking dragon 😃. Hopefully i manage to get Transmetal 2 Dragon Megatron if i get chance to get it 😊. Happy nice day, PrimevsPrime 😊.

I think the robot mode back kibble would’ve been better managed if the upper dragon chest was on a hinge and swivel, so you rotate it 180° and fold it up over the dragon belly, so the dragon chest becomes the robot back shoulder muscles
Holy moly! That was INCREDIBLE! The transformation from robot mode to dragon mode is fantastic. That combined with the articulation is astounding for a modern interpretation of the Beast Wars Transmetal 2 Megatron. Keep up the good work.

I’m actually surprised that this figure’s transformation is so much cleaner than the original toy it was based from.
According to Sam Smith, TF design manager at Hasbro, the factory messed up the head. This is his statement taken from his Instagram:
“to be honest it's a bit of a miss by the factory. There was sculpted teeth detail that are far less pointed that unfortunately got washed out as it moved into production. Early samples had a fully painted silver face and mouth, so this was the factories attempt at recreating the teeth sculpt which did end up more pointed.”
Did he say if this would be fixed at any point?
The head is clearly designed to look more like the toy head Transmetal Megatron had. So don’t blame Hasbro for the design when it’s more they picked the wrong head. Though I like that it differs from the Kingdom version.
Hopefully DNA design will give us an upgrade kit
The original head looked more like the animation model for beastwars megatron than the previous heads but with sharp gritted teeth. This looks more like a "pretool for cryotec" situation.

@@Sleesus I mean a little but the overall way it was layered is accurate to this new sculpt. The teeth are the difference and that’s actually do to a mold issue they talked about apparently. The official sculpted model had the same grimace from the toy but with a lot of sharp teeth. That was a probably when molding and the molders just created the teeth we got now. Or the teeth from scraped off and printed the teeth.
Definitely a must buy for me! 🤩 My only complaint is his head but that's minor, still a fantastic figure! 👍

I’m really disappointed they didn’t include any of the red chrome “transmetal “ pieces. That was the coolest part of the original figure. But other than that. There is some definite improvements over the original.
Chrome paint tends to chip off, so I'm glad they didn't use it.
This is such an awesome figure, I'm definitely getting it when I can. The headsculpt would make sense for a Cryotek repaint.
Ok passed on kingdom megatron when I heard this guy was coming then seen pics didnt do him justice was thinking I made a mistake but after seeing this review I know I did the right thing amazing figure great video thank you now just hope i can get the money for him lol .

I am honestly pretty blown away by this one! I really wanted to see a review on him, before making a decision. And now that I've seen this, I am 100% gonna get him! Especially since my original TM2 Megs's left leg broke off at the knee.. -_-

I love the edits in your video, where you've started putting in pics of things you're referring to. I did notice at 11:54 and onwards, there's an intermittent odd blue filter that gets applied to the playback 🤔 Not sure if you were aware but just thought I'd point it out in case you wanted to look into it 😁
Is it weird that when I saw the trailers for The Last Knight and a teaser poster with Prime and Dragonstorm, and I thought that was going to be Prime vs Megatron in Dragon mode?
Would’ve fit right with the idea of Prime being a Knight while Megs is a Dragon.

I wanna see what he looks like with POTP Optimal Optimus, it’s probably too big but it’d look sick.
There are pictures out there that show him next to optimal optimus. Megs is smaller than prime which I’m pretty sure Is show accurate
IIRC, POTP Optimal is a head taller than Legacy TM2 Megs according to the design manager's Instagram. I think that's accurate to the show

The neck looks really weird in dragon mode.
Dude’s fist is just hanging out. Like he’s throat punching himself.
Hopefully a 3rd party company is working on an upgrade kit, neck filler, new bendable chest plate, mabey ice breath affect

Yeah. If you go look at the official hasbro pictures there is a piece covers the exposed section.
Hoping we get a good upgrade kit for some better weapons + a better head/face sculpt, would be wicked if we get alt faces in an upgrade kit too.
He needs some wrist swivel and articulated fingers too.
Plus a peace for the gap in the dragons neck maybe
Honestly I like the new head it's like the new sculpt it has a bit of a G1 toy Megatron look it's like the toy is implying that like primal when Megatron got the spark of the original it starts to mutate his features to look like his G1 counterpart because of who the spark belongs to
That is what happens when you hire people just out of school who the only thing they know about Transformers is what they read on TF wiki

Been waiting you for this one to be reviewed by you. Great review. I've been really looking forward to it's release since it was first mentioned. I think the head sculp has a subtle homage to the original 1990's transmetal toy.
Fair point in the back kibble, they could've engineered SOMETHING to make it more compact. Still a magnificent release though.

I just bought this guy on eBay a few days ago! Can’t wait for it to arrive!
They said that the headsculpt wasn't supposed to have as toothy a mouth, but the factory altered it to make it easier to produce. I don't know why that's something that's allowed to happen, but it did.

He does look better then original toy. The first robot mode was bas. The dragon mode was amazing. But I think they should do a masterpiece for transmetal 2 Megatron and Optimal Optimus/Transmetal 2 Optimus Primal.
That transformation looks honestly fun. Thank goodness! The original toy is cool, but a fright to transform.
I would've liked to see the shoulder pad on the dragon headed arm actually shift down to make the neck look a bit more complete.

The original figure was one of my first Transformer figures I owned, so I’m definitely getting this guy, it looks amazing.

In the original Transmetal 2 Megatron, the dragon mode chest piece was a shield on his arm. I kind of wish they did that with this version vs making it a big backpack that goes on his back.
At this point Predacon Megatron is the Willian Birkin of the Transformers universe with the amount of times he mutated and the number of bodies he changed, becoming more and more grotesque with each one. My favorite Predacon Megatron is definitely his Beast Machines incarnation because he was a literal god in that one.
Beast Machines? You can have your own opinion, but, uh, yikes.
@@dexterdexter8208 beast machines had a great plot, the darkest one for a children's series... it was just a bad follow-up series to Beast Wars.

They probably made the face that way so that they can pass it off as another character like a Megatron RiD 2001 redeco without having to create a new head sculpt.
Personally would’ve liked a 2001 RID leader Megs but this works too and also like it.

Good review dude, My biggest gripe was seeing the fist, that area looked HORRIBLE, seeing in the comments there is a panel, Ill have to see it, because without it it looked BAD< if it hides the fist and fills that area, that will be much MUCH better looking. It just looks wrong in the video.

HEY THEIR just letting you know I've got the toy here, lot of gimmicky stuff and really the red is blpretty bland for the old figure. I'm disappointed the horn gimmick is gone but this is fairly accurate. The metallic pieces more ha e to do with the beast head and large scale. Otherwise the color deco is more modern than 90's shimmer Effect that you saw with transmetals which was prown to scratching.
Yah it did, it was covered in red and gold chrome, and a nice flexible rubber material for the tail.
All of the transmetal toys had a “metal” chrome finish. It was brittle and flaked off most figures over time, so I guess they didn’t want to revisit it.
Yeah, they probably did that so he would blend-in more with the non-transmetal figures. I think it’s also further evidence of laziness. They probably didn’t want to coat him in metallic paint.
As an 80s kid, I have the hardest time to appreciate these designs, as most 80s toys/cartoons line when they reached the end of their Popularity, they changed the designs so much and kept adding colors and gadgets that it got stupid weird. Transformers was not spared.
Wish it was more metal looking but this is probably my favorite leader class of this year

I think it'd be cooler if they designed the tail to swap with the dragon head so the figure could be like the Megatron from Beast Machines,he used the three pronged claw on the tail to harvest sparks from Maximals and I feel like it'd be a cool call back to that series. All in all it's a really great figure and this was a great review.

At least he’s bigger than the Trex one. I was afraid because of the dragon bits the budget would crumble and he would have been smaller, which would be awful. Overall I consider him descent. My only true gripe is that head. What where they where thinking? They put effort and detail to make it worse. Great review as always, very informative.

I never knew about this version of Megatron so when I saw this figure I thought it was Robots In Disguise Megatron. That version’s pretty much a buffer version of this guy with ten alt modes, transforming into a batmobile, jet, 2-headed dragon, and a gryphon amongst other things. They cheated us out of a spring-loaded grip action giant hand with this release.
I just got 3 of the Hasbro version just to take segments of the two and add them to the 3rd. Now he has a REALLY long neck and tail.

Okay, so he's got a lot more articulation than the original, and his robot-mode head is better hidden, which I like. But also: no vac-metal, no launching missiles, no clever mechanisms, no spring-loaded or lever-activated ANYTHING, silly but fun dragster mode completely abandoned, and he's got a blatant fist poking out of the gaping hole in his throat . . . ? I may just pass on this one and stick with my original.

Hasbro’s transformers line are going in the right direction, but their marvel legends side is lacking right now. Glad Hasbro’s transformers team cares about their fans more than marvel’s team. You can see the effort
I really hope we get an Optimal Optimus to go with him, I'd even be happy if it was a re-release or slight retool of the PoTP toy.
I think the head is meant to resemble the original toy more than how he looked in the show.
It looks like they could have gotten away with using the same chest for both modes and replaced the 'foe-chest' with a smaller panel for just the dragon's crotch, that way you wouldn't have such a big piece hanging off the bot's back.
Another thing I wish they had done is put elbow hinge somewhere in the dragon neck for bot mode.
Bummer about that missing piece, hopefully it's just a fluke with yours and not a common problem.
This is the most brilliant transformation I've seen since Rhinox's legs.
Now's the important question: can it be configured into it's original vehicle third mode?
Reminds me of godzillas enemy king ghidorah except only has one head instead of three.
