I'm pretty sure, like 95% sure, Jack messed up on the Wendy's comparison. He says he got the Baconator and he shows the picture of the actual Baconator but the actual burger he is disecting is not a Baconator. It looks to be a Classic Big Bacon Double Burger. The Baconator does not have lettuce, tomato or onion on it. It is only meat, cheese and bacon. I should know, I have had probably a few hundred of them over the years. IMO, He should have compared the McD's Big and Tasty to the Wendy's Big Bacon Classic (which is what he actually had) and the CJ's $6 Burger. Those are the 3 closest in comparison. Then again, I have heard Jack say he is not trying to compare apples to aplles, just the most popular or biggest burger each place offers. So, what do I know anyway?
Judd Perkins Our mcds revamped their menu, over half the sandwich offerings are gone(hey hey good bye) and the big n tasty has been gone quite awhile. ours is going for "lighter fare", big mac and double quarter pounder are the "big" or uber sandwiches, rest are off the "dollar menu" which is about $1.39-$2.29 actually. We do have a ton of wrap selections..????
Agreed, The baconator is only meat cheese and bacon. It has no veggies on it. He should of compared Wendys Daves Double that I comparable to the other ones. Also he is wrong on the difference in the amount of meat on the two, they both are 1/2 lbs of meat just one has 2 smaller patties than the one.
OK, another " i'm old " response from me. I remember, as a young kid, we would very occasionally go to McDonald's for a burger, fries an shake. Back then, they bought their ground beef fresh, daily, from a near by grocery store that had a meat department. Talk about great tasting burgers. Yeaaaa, that goes back a looooonnnngggg time ago.
+Sebastian Kucfir . Australia, like Canada has become Socialist. That makes everything very expensive- so you can have "free this and free that". of course, its all big scam. sorry. Freedom and smaller government is better. Americans have become stupid and are going the same way. the politicians win.
In all fairness to McDonalds, since you picked the Baconator and the Six dollar burger, you should have picked the Double Quarter Pounder with cheese. For the record, the Big Mac comes with two 10-1 patties, which is still less meat than a single quarter pound patty. The Baconator has two 1/4th pound patties. And the Six dollar burger comes with a 1/3rd and a 1/2 pound patty.
Forgot to mention that value wise the Six dollar burger was the best option, but I'd still choose the Baconator. Wendy's uses fresh beef and taste wise, it makes all the difference over the other twos frozen patties.
Jack, you are cheap. Like really cheap. There is nothing wrong with that, but you can't base your reviews based on how much YOU think it should cost, because everything is going to be a bad deal when you ask a cheap person.
yeah he calculates differently, ofcourse everything in the shop in gonna be cheaper and you can build the burger yourself for less, but what does it say about the taste? nothing lol
You're absolutely right. You try to buy a porterhouse in a supermarket in NY and you're looking at twelve bucks. Jack please stop with these bullshit reviews and stick to cooking!
big mac sauce is supposed to be 1000 island dressing. try it next time at home. also used to have a splash of purple relish. Not sure they do that anymore.
what kinda comparison is that? so you dont even need to eat the burgers to know which one is better? is this the future and we dont even eat the food we order anymore or what is this?
He doesn't do this to hate on the franchises or claim to be better than them, he does it to give a comparison on what the better cost vs. actual value is to help determine the better buy.
Jack, when you do comparisons like this, it might be a good idea to weigh the patties on a digital scale. That way, you are not just eyeballing it. Just a thought. Great show, and the Carl's burger def looks the tastiest.
unfortunately for the past 3 years our Porterhouses are tiny. Don't know why. If you go to some stores like Fresh and Easy you can get the 1/2 off meat that expires that day and grill it that night. Great meat and a good price.
I don't get the Big Mac for the meat, I get it for the taste, I like the sauce and the complexity. When I do want a burger, I go to Carl's or In N Out. Great segment Jack.
I work at a Hardee's in the midwest. The Six Dollar burger has a half-pound patty on it, the biggest we offer. A burger more comparable to the Baconator might be the Monster Thickburger, which has 2/3 pounds of meat and four strips of bacon for around 6 dollars
The reason burgers don't look like the picture is because the burgers at the stores are made with the ingredients stacked on top of each other. In the picture, the burger is presented with the ingredients being brought to the front so the customer knows what is on the burger.
The McD's down the street from my house sometimes has Big Mac's 2 for $3.50. When that happens, I go get em all the time. I like to make a Super Big Mac out of them. I just throw away the top buns and put the rest together as 1 Super Big Mac. 4 patties, and multiple layers of cheese, special sauce, pickles and onions without the dry nasty sesame seed bun.
Shouldn't this be called "Complaining about your food?" All you do is nit pick and make all the choices sound bad. Who cares if there is a wrapper and cardboard?
meat patties are standardized in size. 8:1 is a eighth pound patty (8 slices from a 1 lb chub) big mac's used to use 8:1 patties and advertised a "quarter pound" of meat. But then, long, long ago, they changed to 10:1 patties. They dropped the quarter pound claim.
True! And they say they use the same amount of ingredients in a regular burger. They just move it towards the camera, making the other half basically empty.
Ah ok. Didn't know you had another channel. I'll be sure to check it out. I used to live in L.A. but have since moved to the UK. Nice to see some old places I remember and of course new ones that opened since I left. Thanks dude.
Where I live in Ohio, you can get a Big Mac meal with a large size drink for $5.07, but if you go to a major city, the same meal is almost $7.00. Loved your review. Thanks for sharing.
I got a burger from McDonalds once and when I took it out of the carton it had no bottom bun. I took it back up to the counter showed them the burger and asked for a bottom bun. They tried to take it away and 'make me a new one' I told them to just give me a bottom bun, it wasn't a big deal, and they wouldn't. I ended up getting a new burger for free and kept the other one. I just took it home and saved it for later.
What I was pointing out was that we have no local history of selling/eating burgers. So we ended up with two fast food chains, selling already prepared and prepaged burgers. We have no food vendors or other fast food restaurant making their own version or offering to assemble a burger with or without ... 'fill in your desired/hated food item'...
Whoever worked at that Wendy's did it wrong. Baconators get 2 slices of cheese, 6 strips of bacon (correct), but it has no veggies... Just mayo and ketchup.
These types of videos are completely necessary, and it's hard to believe you're the only person really doing them. Congrats on a novel idea! We really do need to know the value we're getting.
A Big Mac Meal in the UK us £3.99. I am not sure what the conversion rate is but I think that is a LOT cheaper than the US price. For £3.99, you get the Big Mac, medium fries and a medium drink.
I've had many conversations with americans about them, I'll say "kfc have this incredible new burger" they say "kfc don't sell burgers". Then comes a large debate then they suddenly say "oh, you mean a sandwich"
In my opinion, I think the Big Mac is the closest in resemblance to the burgers and their pictures, the Baconator is the furthest from it's picture and the Carls Jr burger looks the best.
They have to be thrown together in under a minute and sometimes even faster depending on how busy it is. thats why its called "fast food" its cheaper and faster so youre getting what you ask for...
The Six Dollar Burger: 1/2 lb. Angus Beefsteak patty 3 Butter Pickles 3 Red Onions 2 Lettuce Leaves 2 Tomato Slices 2 slices of American Cheese Ketchup/Catsup/Katsup, Mayo, and Mustard...all on a sesame seed bun. :)
I agree, that's what what brings it all together, even if the sauce alone is what adds to the caloric and fat content...you either like the sauce or not. But Jack doesn't taste the food, just compares them physically.
And it may even taste good. We go to fast food places for fast food - not necessarily to be 100% pleased or even satisfied with what might be an inexpensive meal. If you want to call it that to begin with. Going to these places regularly means you are either giving up flavor for price or you simply do not want to deal with going elsewhere to wait, or pay more for possibly better taste. In either direction, I think this video was greatly produced.
You should check out Rally's/Checker's sandwich. They have the Big Buford which is closer to a Big Mac, and the Baconzilla which is, you guessed it, closer the the Baconator. I haven't found a *fast food* place with a bigger burger for the dollar.
It's funny because you think 4.51 for a Big Mac is expensive. Where I live they cost between 8 and 9 dollars. However, it is not fair to compare the amount of meat on two different sandwiches which never claim to have an equal amount. Of course Big Mac has smaller patties, because they are only 45 grams per patty. The baconator has two 113 gram patties. I fully agree with making the Six Dollar Burger the winner. That baby looked awesome!
The patties on the Big Mac are only a tenth of a pound. If you want something better at McDonald's, you can get the quarter pounder, or the Angus which is a third of a pound.
I live in the san diego area of california, and we have one single dunkin donuts at a military base named Camp Pendleton. It is right on the 5 a little north of oceanside. We used to have a handful of dunkin' donuts about a decade ago, but they all shut down for one reason or another.
Just saying I work at Wendy's and have made the Baconator Double (the #5) many many many times and whoever made that one made a Double which is the #2 and just added bacon to it, because the Baconator is only mayo and ketchup and never comes loaded unless requested by the customer.
I don't know if you have them there in the states, but in Canada we have stores that you can buy a chicken dinner. It comes with fries and coleslaw. Loblaws and the superstore sell them here. Maybe do a segment on that.
McDouble - $1. Two McDoubles + special sauce = $2.50 and ya get 4 patties, 2 pieces of cheese, the sauce, and 4 bun halves. So more meat, more cheese, more bun and still get that sauce. Or get the daily double whatever with the veggies. Add sauce on it. Bam 2.50 as well for everything but the middle bun. The Big Mac is the most genius way to blatently outright right people off for ages. And sad part is - it works. And no one is the wiser - except me - and those I convert.
Been looking for a channel like this. We just got a Carl's Jr. here in Beaumont, Tx, yea! But we also have Moz grill, they make a huge Burger with plenty of bacon. Served on a sweet sourdough bun, the best part you add your own condiment's! It weighs in around $6.00-7.00, and worth every penny.
Jack, when you get a chance go to McDonald's and ask for a double cheeseburger with a sesame seed bun and Big Mac sauce. It's a ghetto Big Mac, but it's pretty close and it's dirt cheap. Just don't do it when they're really busy!
I think if you go to a fast food restaurant expecting to get an actually good burger , there are very few places you can go to achieve that goal. Culvers is really the only place here in the midwest that I can think of where I could get a good/decent burger. Hardees/Carls jr.'s is expensive here in the midwest and their burgers taste like newspaper/cardboard/various other inedible products...you take your pick. If you want a good burger, make it yourself or go to a real restaurant to get it.
Hey jack! you should do a playing with your food mix! buy food from stores/ restaurants then create your own replica! or you should do a playing with your food - burritos ... places like taco bell, and taco villa / taco cabanas (if you know what that is) burritos are tiny, have you heard of freebirds or chipotle? they have colossal burritos that are Delicious!
Jack - I don't disagree with your results, but keep in mind that what is usually featured in advertisements is "fake food," since real food won't hold up as well to the hot lighting. So, no matter what the kid behind the counter slaps together, it will never look as good as the ad. Just my two cents.
Remember when comparing the food to the pictures, they actually move the top and bottom buns back and move the meat forward so you can get a better picture. The actual burgers bought will always look different. So comparing to the pictures is not a good idea. How about weighing the patties, lettuce, etc... for a comparison. I think that would be better. I like these videos, keep em coming.
greetings from newcastle upon tyne,uk jack, the burgers £2.81 for macdonalds,£3.89 for wendys and £2.95 for carl,i wish we had one of them in newcastle! not a bad price over here
Fast food has gotten more expensive in the past few years. Yet the quality has not improved. I find that going to local burger joints is more satidfying and often less "Junk-like."
Don't know how I got here but I'll never return.
I'm a coomer
Why?

gostei da sua opinião aqui no rio de janeiro quem manda e o FOME ZERO LANCHES .PROCURA NO FACEBOOK
But which one of them tastes most of the tears and broken dreams of single teenage moms forced to work the grills?
In Australia you can get a big mac half that size for double the price
+ThePiggy lol
+Sebastian Kucfir Your currency is also worth about 50% less...
+Sebastian Kucfir . Australia, like Canada has become Socialist. That makes everything very expensive- so you can have "free this and free that". of course, its all big scam. sorry.

Well he’s just reviewing
This is the best series you have jack
where the heck do you buy porterhouse steaks for 4.50? I highly doubt that
You're absolutely right. You try to buy a porterhouse in a supermarket in NY and you're looking at twelve bucks. Jack please stop with these bullshit reviews and stick to cooking!
I'm wondering too up here in Massachusetts it's about $13.99 or higher
big mac sauce is supposed to be 1000 island dressing. try it next time at home. also used to have a splash of purple relish. Not sure they do that anymore.

If you want a decent burger, you probably shouldn't be getting fast food in the first place....
yes. Went to steak and shake in Nashville. Yum.
Jack, when you do comparisons like this, it might be a good idea to weigh the patties on a digital scale. That way, you are not just eyeballing it. Just a thought. Great show, and the Carl's burger def looks the tastiest.
+Matthew Clark I was hoping he was going to weigh those patties.
I would guess he didn't weigh the patties because of the melted cheese on top of them. Obviously that would prevent an accurate reading.
yes. Battle of the TV dinners is coming. I've wanted to do that for awhile
Carlo's Jr. Is the better one in my opinion considering the price and overall burger itself.🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔
I see what you did there. Carlo's Jr. Lmao.
unfortunately for the past 3 years our Porterhouses are tiny. Don't know why. If you go to some stores like Fresh and Easy you can get the 1/2 off meat that expires that day and grill it that night. Great meat and a good price.
you seem a tad biased. You already knew you liked the carl's jr. burger
I don't get the Big Mac for the meat, I get it for the taste, I like the sauce and the complexity. When I do want a burger, I go to Carl's or In N Out. Great segment Jack.
what you want is a half pounder from your no name buger shop.
I work at a Hardee's in the midwest. The Six Dollar burger has a half-pound patty on it, the biggest we offer. A burger more comparable to the Baconator might be the Monster Thickburger, which has 2/3 pounds of meat and four strips of bacon for around 6 dollars
1. Carls Jr
2. Wendy's
3. McDonalds
Honorable Mention: Burger King
Dishonourable Mention: Dairy Queen
I will check it out.
>Day it expires
>Eats his food raw
This is why he gets sick from his cooking
The reason burgers don't look like the picture is because the burgers at the stores are made with the ingredients stacked on top of each other. In the picture, the burger is presented with the ingredients being brought to the front so the customer knows what is on the burger.
carls jr. WINS hands down.......
five guys and in and out burger
yes both of those are great too. we dont have them around here yet. hope soon though.

How about Sub sandwiches, Subway, Submarina, and who ever else make deli subs!
I agree! Also Quizno's
George Ortiz Jimmy johns and firehouse are good too.
+brad gillis You can't beat Firehouse. Milio's is pretty good as well.
It's done already dipshits
+Matrona Myers Firehouse!!! No lie there... Jimmy Johns is good too
Jack, you know the funnest part about making this vid, was eating the burgers after you were done fondling them
you can actually ask the cashier to have the cooks make the burger like the advertisement
really
+sealrk19 yea
Not to mention that nappy, non-flammable cheese....
yes I will
Shouldn't this be called "Complaining about your food?" All you do is nit pick and make all the choices sound bad. Who cares if there is a wrapper and cardboard?
Aww, I was waiting for the mega uber monster burger that you could have made with all 3 at the end.
meat patties are standardized in size. 8:1 is a eighth pound patty (8 slices from a 1 lb chub) big mac's used to use 8:1 patties and advertised a "quarter pound" of meat. But then, long, long ago, they changed to 10:1 patties. They dropped the quarter pound claim.

because In-N-Out is only west coast. I try to stay worldwide or nationwide on this show. My Jack on the Go is more local restaurants.
They all still taste so damn good.
yes they do!!!

I believe he got the double bacon deluxe baconator hybrid
these are all great suggestions. thanks. writing them down now. BTW, we don't have dunkin donuts here in California
These types of videos are completely necessary, and it's hard to believe you're the only person really doing them. Congrats on a novel idea! We really do need to know the value we're getting.
Greeting From Mexico Jack you are AWESOME!!
THere's room enough for more than one! Besides, I like Jack's personality and delivery and appreciate his opinions. Peace.
great idea. pizza is the next video then battle of the TV dinners
A Big Mac Meal in the UK us £3.99. I am not sure what the conversion rate is but I think that is a LOT cheaper than the US price. For £3.99, you get the Big Mac, medium fries and a medium drink.

another great idea for an episode. thanks
very interesting. I might have to look into that.
yes. that is coming. I promise that we will do chicken
Fast food burgers never look like the burgers that are advertised! They're not perfectly designed by the cooks-just basically thrown together by kids!
They have to be thrown together in under a minute and sometimes even faster depending on how busy it is. thats why its called "fast food" its cheaper and faster so youre getting what you ask for...
well that isnt a big mac anymore without the sauce, that burger is know for the sauce.
The Six Dollar Burger:
1/2 lb. Angus Beefsteak patty
3 Butter Pickles
3 Red Onions
2 Lettuce Leaves
2 Tomato Slices
2 slices of American Cheese
Ketchup/Catsup/Katsup, Mayo, and Mustard...all on a sesame seed bun. :)
burritos are coming. promise.
I agree, that's what what brings it all together, even if the sauce alone is what adds to the caloric and fat content...you either like the sauce or not.
But Jack doesn't taste the food, just compares them physically.
this guys videos are awesome. I agree "Hardees" for the win!
well you did the burgers, you did the drinks, now you gotta do fast food french fries for the next playing with your food
At 6:39 where you show the advertised burger right next to the real burger. Nice job! Love your videos
And it may even taste good. We go to fast food places for fast food - not necessarily to be 100% pleased or even satisfied with what might be an inexpensive meal. You should check out Rally's/Checker's sandwich. They have the Big Buford which is closer to a Big Mac, and the Baconzilla which is, you guessed it, closer the the Baconator. I haven't found a *fast food* place with a bigger burger for the dollar.
+Kai LEM Yup, they're pretty good with the price for what you get
It's funny because you think 4.51 for a Big Mac is expensive. Where I live they cost between 8 and 9 dollars.

God bless Mexico. Thanks for the kind words.
I will buy one next time i'm at the kitchen store.
we're talking bout burgers, fer my money - a good bar burger is the winner - cooked to order and with a beer!
Just saying I work at Wendy's and have made the Baconator Double (the #5) many many many times and whoever made that one made a Double which is the #2 and just added bacon to it, because the Baconator is only mayo and ketchup and never comes loaded unless requested by the customer.
I really didn't know that about the pictures, but I see it now. That's actually a really good idea for advertisement.
yes. My next one is frosting a cake. I HATE FROSTING CAKES. lololol
for the big mac instead of the normal patties u can ask for a big mac with quarter pounder patties
There's no such thing as a 4 dollar steak that's actually decent. Certainly not 2 dollars like you said.
I don't know if you have them there in the states, but in Canada we have stores that you can buy a chicken dinner. It comes with fries and coleslaw. Loblaws and the superstore sell them here. Maybe do a segment on that.
I working in McDonalds for a few years..The meat is that thin to decrease cooking time..avarage cooking time for a reg pattie is 42-44 seconds.
McDouble - $1. Two McDoubles + special sauce = $2.50 and ya get 4 patties, 2 pieces of cheese, the sauce, and 4 bun halves. So more meat, more cheese, more bun and still get that sauce. The Big Mac is the most genius way to blatently outright right people off for ages. And sad part is - it works. And no one is the wiser - except me - and those I convert.
Because that's what it is. A sandwich is Two pieces of bread with something in the middle. "The burger" Is the inside. Therefore it's a sandwich.
Been looking for a channel like this. We just got a Carl's Jr. here in Beaumont, Tx, yea!
But we also have Moz grill, they make a huge Burger with plenty of bacon.
Served on a sweet sourdough bun, the best part you add your own condiment's!
It weighs in around $6.00-7.00, and worth every penny.
thanks. Great ideas.
Carls Jr has them all beat but I ordered an Air Land and Sea off the secret menu at McDonalds yesterday.8.49. Good and fun to order.
it's still 90 degrees out here in So Cal. Sorry. can't get away from the friggin sun.
I would love to see a homemade burger and cost comparison at the end. Actually, a homemade comparison for ALL your "Playing with" videos.
It's no different than you buying a box of Hot pockets at the store and saying "Oh, Hot pockets made me fat because they exist"
Jack, when you get a chance go to McDonald's and ask for a double cheeseburger with a sesame seed bun and Big Mac sauce. It's a ghetto Big Mac, but it's pretty close and it's dirt cheap. Just don't do it when they're really busy!
Educating consumers is really important
Here in Panama City (Panama) we have these three franchises, and I agree, in taste, quality and "healthy look", Carl's is the best.
I had to get them dry so we could cleanly see all the ingredients.
Hey jack!
you should do a playing with your food mix!
buy food from stores/ restaurants then create your own replica!
or you should do a playing with your food - burritos ... places like taco bell, and taco villa / taco cabanas (if you know what that is) burritos are tiny, have you heard of freebirds or chipotle? they have colossal burritos that are Delicious!
Jack - I don't disagree with your results, but keep in mind that what is usually featured in advertisements is "fake food," since real food won't hold up as well to the hot lighting. So, no matter what the kid behind the counter slaps together, it will never look as good as the ad. Just my two cents.
This guy is a Big Mac away from a heart attack.
