I would say it is contractor vans supplying equipment to a political conference. They are usually pre-screened away from the venue before being escorted at normal speed towards the venue. They are then thoroughly screened locally.
Hired van. There’s no benches in them, unless you add makeshift benches which would require drilling. And a pissed off hire company. Unless the actual firm is a front company.
It's a Yamaha FZR600R. If you search my name on Wordpress I did a full blog review on there, and there will probably be a few updates now I'm more used to it!
Abacus is a specialist data recovery and entry team which are commonly used by the government and intelligence agencies to gain access to sensitive computer files and documents. It would appear the escort would be to insure the safety of the data possibly on board the vans.
If I was that agency I'd do something similar on my vans. ;) Or if that not who they are - why are Birmingham Police using vans hired from Bournemouth?
Bear in mind tickover speed on bikes is normally around 1300rpm - so a fair bit higher than most cars. I'm pretty sure it'll be the exhaust blowing a bit you can hear, though! Well spotted!
Not sure... could be - but I'd expect the unmarked bike (he seemed like the one in charge) to be at the back to watch if it was training, and unless it was training for a specific job I doubt they'd use 3 vans.
if you want to see a real police bike escort , go and see a video where the dutch bike police escort a ambulance to the hospital , thats a real bike police escort ...
Yes it's possible - but never seen that unmarked bike before and would have thought any instructor would be on a marked bike? Could be a joint op with several security forces, of course...
George Brown judging by the video the point was to hold up traffic and ease the journey for the vans. One would also assume that they were there to protect the vans from criminal behaviour.
That’s not an escort that’s close protection escort would be going though traffic red lights etc. Close protection is no skipping red lights etc staying within traffic
Some things the escort were doing seemed very strange to me - like how the rear bike is sat in the oncoming lane to keepa view down the side fo the vans. I have a few ideas, but will probably never know what it was for sure!
nastyevilninja If the cop is looking down the side of the van he's quite clearly keeping an eye on the side door. That escort is definitely for the van!
Weird how the riding style changed when behind the Police bikes - then asked permission to filter - got rejected and stayed in accordance of the law - makes you wonder if Biker Filtering is actually part of the Highway code . LOL.
You think my style changed? I could have just filtered through, but A) I have enough respect for the Police to ask if I'd be compromising them, B) Can recognise an unusual operation in progress, and C) Don't want to get shot in the face by Police/Spec Ops forces.
@Ringo son of England. The overtake at 1:35 is fully compliant with the Highway Code as you are allowed to cross a broken white line if the road ahead is clear and if you can see a place to pull back in without causing other road user to have to change their speed or direction. Motorbike Filtering is completely legal in the UK and has been for about 10 years. Buy yourself a Highway Code and read up on Rules 88 and 160. This will stop you from posting daft, ill-informed comments and coming across as a small minded, below average car driver. Best regards.
DocHoll72 take it your a small endowed two wheel king of the road. take another look at the video my little keyboard warrior and you'll see the riding style changed as soon as he came across the police out riders . bless you for trying.
I'm no two wheel king, but it's an easy mistake to make. As @nastyevilninja pointed out he didn't want to compromise a police escort. So technically, he went from riding safe and legally to riding safe and legal = no change in riding style. A lot of drivers and riders, once they pass their driving test no longer read the Highway Code. You really should. PS. You meant "you're" not "your" PS. Length and girth just fine thanks.
DocHoll72 sorry to school you Again, but changing from safe and legally to safe and legal would suggest a change in riding style. please feel free pick holes in the predictive text - if I thought it a worthwhile argument I'd check it myself. ps. 3 inch and stumpy - ain't worth even calling a tool. ps. clad it in leather - put it on two wheels - it then becomes a tool.
I was told by a reliable source the vans are actually full of pies being distributed to local police stations.
Good to see a polite conversation between public and police on youtube for once. ;)
It pays to be nice to Police - they might think about letting you off in the future. ;)
thanks for posting
Ive seen this on Pershore Road a number of times down my street.
Dang it, now I want a bike!
Hello Ninja! Is it okay to use it please ? Credited of course! Thanks in advance.
Remembering sunday in manchester

Good theory! Not as exciting as the cash or drugs theories, though lol!
True to a previous comment these are hire cams from a Dorset hire company.
Abacus is a Dorset van hire business so to keep up the wild guesses theme it is SBS en route to a planned job
Hired van. There’s no benches in them, unless you add makeshift benches which would require drilling. And a pissed off hire company. Unless the actual firm is a front company.
Nice sound to the bike...what make and model is this?
It's a Yamaha FZR600R. If you search my name on Wordpress I did a full blog review on there, and there will probably be a few updates now I'm more used to it!
nastyevilninja Will check it out...she sounds beautiful btw keep up the good work 👍
Was the van transporting Boris Johnsons new blonde wig? Hence the hurry!!
I wonder what was in the vans
I suspect if I'd tried looking I'd have got myself In Trouble!
I'd LOVE to know why these vans are being escorted?
They were full of doughnuts.
gjmob hahahahhahahahhahhhaaaahhahahah!!! LOL!!!!!!
Brit cops...more like tea and biscuits
The asylum seekers in the back were getting cold.
kindness ARK it's a contractor delivering equipment to a political conference, it would be pre screened by the police elsewhere
Abacus is a specialist data recovery and entry team which are commonly used by the government and intelligence agencies to gain access to sensitive computer files and documents. It would appear the escort would be to insure the safety of the data possibly on board the vans.
Excellent! Thanks for the info! So either protecting the data or on their way to go get it...
It clearly says "the vehicle hire company" on the back of the van
Yeah you're right, as someone who works along side agencies the name sounded familiar, sorry my mistake.
If I was that agency I'd do something similar on my vans. ;) Or if that not who they are - why are Birmingham Police using vans hired from Bournemouth?
Surely just use unmarked vans and drive like a knob and everyone would just think your a normal white van man.
Is it just me or does it sound like that motorbike isn't ticking over smoothly?
Mine or the coppers? I think this must have been just before I blew an exhaust gasket, so you could well be right.
Yours. Yeah it sounds a bit erratic to me but maybe it's just normal I'm not a biker.
Bear in mind tickover speed on bikes is normally around 1300rpm - so a fair bit higher than most cars. I'm pretty sure it'll be the exhaust blowing a bit you can hear, though! Well spotted!
Imagine one of these bikers being an ambulance driver..JEEZ
If it was M.O.D related they wouldnt have been able to stop so it was probably training formation riding
Not sure... could be - but I'd expect the unmarked bike (he seemed like the one in charge) to be at the back to watch if it was training, and unless it was training for a specific job I doubt they'd use 3 vans.
if you want to see a real police bike escort , go and see a video where the dutch bike police escort a ambulance to the hospital , thats a real bike police escort ...
Id guess at something to do with the Tory conference
bit of a strange one
Very! Several little things going on that weren't normal, there!
0:25 DOCKLANDS POLICE DEPT. VAN!
Undercover police in the van :)
Possibly...
They look like they were coming from Tally Ho Training Area and going to Aston HQ, could have been training for them
Yes it's possible - but never seen that unmarked bike before and would have thought any instructor would be on a marked bike? Could be a joint op with several security forces, of course...
Met's SEG . . now they are bike cops
I used to drive those vans for all the political parties they are just supplies for businesses in to conference site which have been searched !!!
No drugs or money??? :(
And the point of this escort was what?
Your guess is as good as ours!
George Brown judging by the video the point was to hold up traffic and ease the journey for the vans. One would also assume that they were there to protect the vans from criminal behaviour.
It’s not an escort it’s close protection
Better than escorting elephant's
not bad for cop to chase people down
it will be weapons and amunition.
That’s not an escort that’s close protection escort would be going though traffic red lights etc. Close protection is no skipping red lights etc staying within traffic
Why do they give bobbies such heavy, clumsy bikes? You'd get across town stacks quicker on a nimble 500. Hence why m/c despatch riders use them.
It's different for the undercover and surveillance bikes. ;)
Oh really? Who told u that?
I've seen Street Hawk! :P
Yeah I used to love tearing round Birmingham on my er5. Then stupidly traded up to a vfr 750. Big mistake.
That wasn't you I saw in Selly Oak this evening, was it? Think it was a red VFR with a BMW then I joined the party!
Probably transporting money 💰 or something.
Why is it ever needed with police escort.
3:19 you slimeball.
Why? For asking before I compromise an operation???
Training exercise? Bit of a strange escort...
How is it weird to train with a bunch of vans.
I don't know how it is weird to train with a bunch of vans. Why do you ask?
Some things the escort were doing seemed very strange to me - like how the rear bike is sat in the oncoming lane to keepa view down the side fo the vans. I have a few ideas, but will probably never know what it was for sure!
nastyevilninja If the cop is looking down the side of the van he's quite clearly keeping an eye on the side door. That escort is definitely for the van!
Apparently those vans are used to carry illegal immigrant to the local benefits office before taking them to their new council houses.
Lol! Surely they'd be using sirens to get them there faster??
lol
Drugs to be destroyed!
Surely they'd do that locally and not ship it 300 miles away?
Come on this is a joke right, this not a police escort , the police on bikes are not doing anything they are just following the van ...... ?
That's pretty much the definition of the word 'escort'!
Something to do with the Conservatives being in town?
Might have been shipping in their caviar?

Something a little odd about those bike cops. I would say, they mightn't have been cops at all.
well certainly rich then, to be able to kit out a state of the art response bike
What would that be then?
what a crap job there doing.
Why?
most boring video of escort ever seen
Most boring comment ever seen.
@@nastyevilninja Thanks glad you liked it enough to reply
@@MrChili1496 I like boring things - like this video. ;)
