Fantastic! What would the sport do without people like Matt and his Dad?!! So dedicated! I’ve been a fan of Matt’s since finding stock cars and he’s a winner in my eyes 😁
Thoroughly enjoyed the interview, great insight into F1 racing from a driver and constructor. Big respect to Matt who clearly values the sport and the people who support him.
Being a friend of the family, this is a great watch. Bugsie is so proud and it shows from these videos. I spent a few years travelling round being the worst mechanic they’ve had. They eat, sleep, breath and poop racing. Mat is a great ambassador for the sport and deserves a title now.
Loved the videos mate. What a great insight into the F1 stockcar world. I Believe that they are making an appearance at Aldershot Raceway this year. We thought that we worked hard with the Circuit Stuff and the Hot Rod, But Hats off to those Boys, Keep up the Good work.
Well said Matt, brilliant interview and said things that needed to be voiced by a driver. F1 is starting to get too money oriented and a sport which used to be a "working man's" sport is becoming too predictable. Great comments from dad too. Good luck through 2024 no one deserves it more 🤞🤞
matts right if the costs are cut maybe we might get back to 60 / 80 car turn outs at normal meetings like in the 80s , then the promoters get more money then the sport grows rather than tracks shutting
It’s tricky isn’t it? It’s a grassroots sport but it’s at the top end and the racing is close. It’s going to push costs up. If it is possible to reduce the costs within the rules of the sport then I’m in favour. The big races with 60+ cars were incredible. I was at the MWA show and the autograss cars on show there looked like absolute money pits too. It’s a factor of racing to some degree.
You say cheaper tyres would be terrible but that didn't seem true in the Smithy, Chisholm era. 16 seconds or so, round Bradford? Or how about a superstars-only league of about 30 high-budget cars and the rest to be more like the cars of yesterday with cheaper 'stock' parts? A typical F1 meet could be 2 heats, consolation and a final for each league ? And what about the finals being in reverse grid form, with the fastest ht/cons cars at the front. That's 8 races, at least, per meeting. I think that would be the best of both worlds and racing for pole in the heats would stop drivers settling for a place just to qualify for the final.
A small thought on engine costs. If you look at the cost of serious racing on classic cars, even those engines cost a bomb. Look at a race Hillman Imp compared to stock and tell me it’s a cheap sport. I think, if you’re a serious racer, the margins are there and to push them costs money. It’s a pity. I’d honestly love to watch the same quality of racing with cheaper costs for the drivers but as a fan, all I can do is show up at the turnstile and pay to watch. Much more chance of a better ecosystem if there are more fans.
Brilliant couple of videos, getting an insight of one of the great ambassadors of the sport well done and thankyou.

Great videos. Great sportsman and family. Looking forward to my first trip back to Odsal in 30+ years in April…
Hopefully that title will come this year, can't be anyone who deserves one more.
What top blokes!
Really enjoyed these videos.
Enjoyed these vlogs very interesting behind the scenes of a busy stock car builders racing team 👌👍🏁

I really hope Matt does win a major title soon, but even if he never does, he is still a legend in the sport.

Need to fix the screeching in the audio

excellent, but was there some camera mount problems as it all seemed a bit wobbly?
