I know some life-long Metallica fans who hated St. Anger, but I haven't listened to it, so I can't really offer an opinion. Death Magnetic was the last that I heard. It's really good.

I've been a HUGE fan of Metallica for about 30 years now. I'm a Drummer myself & their drummer, Lars Ulrich is one of my top 3 favorite Rock drummers. His beats mixed with their guitar riffs have always kept me captivated by their music all these years! But man, their Lyrics always capture me completely coz they're DEEP!! Out of their Whole Catalog, there's only one song that gave me goosebumps so bad the first time I ever heard it, that I literally had to pull my car over to the side of the road for a couple minutes!! And that song is "Sad But True"! During this whole thumpin' song, they keep you on a cliffhanger of WHO are they singin' about everytime they use the word "I'm" & they don't reveal who it is until the very very end of the song & when they did, it sent shivers down my spine & goosebumps & completely blowed my fuckin mind & that's why it became my favorite song of theirs & always will be!!! Will you please react to the Live version of it at Wembley 1992?? If so, Get ready to rock out & dive deep into them lyrics, man, like you always do!!😉💓😉

The average concert was about 2 hours and 30 minutes long. They are incredible live. They are as virtuosic like bands such as Led Zepplin etc. Check out Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Fade to Black, One, Master of Puppets, They Day That Never Comes and and and... there are so many excellent tracks by Metallica. I'd love to have you react to my favorite band, Blue Oyster Cult (BOC), who were a BIG influence on Metallica. In fact, when Metallica did a cover album called, "Garage Inc." they covered a BOC song called Astronomy. The liner notes talked about how they were initially reluctant to cover it because it was "sacred" to them! Most people have only heard 3 songs of theirs that are about the only ones played on the radio, which have also been reacted to death. I would suggest much deeper cuts. One really intriguing one would be a song called "Nosferatu" from an album called Spectres, released in 1977. You don't just listen to it; it's more like immersing yourself into a stellar Dracula movie. It will help if you bring up the lyrics and it's easy to miss hear a few. The piano adds to the ambience, and Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser's lead guitar will just SEAR your brain. .
Metallica are masters of setting a mood, feeding you emotion with the music. If you feel music, you're in for a hell of a ride. Just be forewarned, it can get pretty dark on real life problems/evils. The Master of Puppets and ..And Justice For All albums are both almost completely them musically beating the absolute snot out of the troubles of this world. They were angry young men and that energy's contagious, you might find yourself wanting to jump up and run laps around the yard.

Metallica is nothing but awesome. Have seen them 8 times live and they played always between 135 minutes up to 3 hours. The average concert was about 2 hours and 30 minutes long. They are incredible live. They are as virtuosic like bands such as Led Zepplin etc.
Check out Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Fade to Black, One, Master of Puppets, They Day That Never Comes and and and... there are so many excellent tracks by Metallica.

I'd love to have you react to my favorite band, Blue Oyster Cult (BOC), who were a BIG influence on Metallica. In fact, when Metallica did a cover album called, "Garage Inc." they covered a BOC song called Astronomy. The liner notes talked about how they were initially reluctant to cover it because it was "sacred" to them! Most people have only heard 3 songs of theirs that are about the only ones played on the radio, which have also been reacted to death. I would suggest much deeper cuts. One really intriguing one would be a song called "Nosferatu" from an album called Spectres, released in 1977. You don't just listen to it; it's more like immersing yourself into a stellar Dracula movie. It will help if you bring up the lyrics and it's easy to miss hear a few. The piano adds to the ambience, and Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser's lead guitar will just SEAR your brain. .
Metallica are masters of setting a mood, feeding you emotion with the music. If you feel music, you're in for a hell of a ride.
Just be forewarned, it can get pretty dark on real life problems/evils. The Master of Puppets and ..And Justice For All albums are both almost completely them musically beating the absolute snot out of the troubles of this world. They were angry young men and that energy's contagious, you might find yourself wanting to jump up and run laps around the yard.
This is a mellow, slow song. 99% of their songs are straight up heavy and rocking. You need to check out Master of Puppets amazing music and lyrics. Being a soldier (thank you) you would also love "One" awesome music and deep lyrics. Your reactions are awesome, you da man. Keep it up.

The unforgiven is another slow jam off this album. Any song off of this album is great actually. If you want to get hyped check out Through the Never, or Of Wolf and Man.
