That 70’s rock band rabbit hole is DEEP. It was a magical era that produced thousands of examples of awesome musicianship. It’s a fun ride but know that it is no short journey exploring all that came from that time. Enjoy! Based on your enjoyment of this band/song, my recommendation for your next band/song reaction: “Foreplay/Longtime” by Boston (it’s two separate songs and “Foreplay” transitions into “Long Time”).
Carry on W Son was also in another movie called HERO'S when the song first came out. It's about a Vietnam vet who had PSTD with Sally Field and Henry Winkler. When I saw it, the song was at the very end. Check it out if you can.
Great song by Kansas. Another big song by them is Dust in the Wind. Maybe in the future you can react to some Doobie Brother's, Allman Brothers. Peace!!🙏
Talented at a time when everyone else was also talented....the 70’s-80’s. They were this good live too.🎼🎶😎Dust in the wind, also Point of know return. Both songs are great! 🎼🎶😎
I did not expect you to be a Supernatural fan, but I LOVE IT!!! That show reaches so many different kinds of people. And this song is probably one of my favorites too. I appreciate your insights into the lyrics. This was great 😊
Dust in the Wind writer was amazed so many Christians liked it since at the time he wasn’t one. He did end up converting to Christianity not long after
First of all, I want to say that I am enjoying watching younger people digging these tunes that BLEW me away the first time I heard them. Great reaction. 👍 The 1970s .... What a time to be growing up! No internet 3 or 4 channels on the TV Radio was KING! I grew up around my maternal Grandparents so I was always around ALL kinds of music. And you could turn the radio dial and find anything you wanted. The Big band era.... Classical Folk Pop Rock I have said it before and I will say it again... the 1970s AM and FM radio airwaves were a veritable cornucopia of musical styles and genres and some great bands and artists that refused to be pigeonholed.
Thank you for not stopping every minute it's best to hear the whole song and you picked a great one.Supernatural show is outstanding 15yrs of perfection.
Every SUPERNATURAL fans anthem lol the theme song, by Kansas, happens fo be where Sam and Dean are from- KANSAS GO CHIEFS *yes, I know my Chiefs are technically in MO but Kansas is still part of the Kingdom
You had me at spn. I immediately subscribed. Then as I listened to the song I started to cry. I do that a lot lately when it comes to spn. This has always been one of my top 3 favorite songs. The always close their conventions with this song. You can see a lot of the panels on RUclips. Hopefully you know that the show has a HUGE fan base called fandom. There are 2 books about how the show change the lives of the actors with has chapters written by different actors and fans. There is a book about the psychology Supernatural. All three books are written by a psychologist named Lynn Zubernis
Great review. Kansas has an amazing sound deep complex sound stage. Get the MOFI pressing of Kansas Dust In The Wind. You will hear sounds you have never heard before.
i can never hear this song the same again based on that show...LOVE IT! and i loved this song long before I ever heard of the show. i was born in 73 and had a brother 8 yrs older than me...so i became aware of music like this long before i wouldve/shouldve lol...im guessing you watched the last 3 episodes...? i was crushed in so many different ways. Cas was def one of my fav characters. Im glad they kept him around thru the whole series. I think thats why the creators used it. Cuz they were based out of Lawrence, KS. just another thought. And, ironically,I lived theer for 3 years in the early 90s
I know I'm late to this party but it just came up on my feed. All of Kansas songs were deep. Even though Steve Walsh, the singer, would refute the fact that the lyrics were spiritual, all you have to do is listen to most of their songs and get that vibe. One of my faves that nobody ever mentions among their major catalog, is The Wall. Deep deep deep. Thx for popping up and for your Reaction.

Steve Walsh is lead vocalist - organ/keys/bongos whose belt range is strong and operatic fallsetto is in the clouds! This movie was also a very good fit for the song. When I saw it, the song was at the very end. Check it out if you can. That was a great movie too! The song was/is a masterpiece.
Of course that was a lip sync video to the actual studio recording, but at least this way you still get to see them. Guitars, real drums, Hammond organ, all that good stuff.
It wasn't so much lip-synching as it was using an actual LIVE performance and dubbing the studio version over it. That was done by the labels a lot back then. Many times the videos would show several shots of different LIVE shows with the dubbed studio song. That was weird when you would see them singing the song and each shot was a different outfit. LOL FYI: Because of that some bands adopted the practice that they would wear the same outfit for the entire tour (since each show was videotaped by management) so as not to confuse the audience who were watching if an Official vid was created.
Love your channel and can tell you feel music when it's good. You have to check out stevie ray vaughn Texas flood live from El macambo. It will blow your mind
Written by Lynn Zubernis who became a huge fan of the show and binge watch all the season she had missed. There is a new video posted a few days ago that is a sing-along with Kansas. This was done as an event for the scavenger hunt that just ended. When they play this song on the last show for the last time I will absolutely lose it. In fact I'm already starting to cry. And it was a really good reaction. I just had to go on to a different tangent
First I heard this song was in a movie, strangely enough, starring Henry Winkler (of Fonzie fame). He played a Vietnam Vet. I was a kid a didn’t quite understand all of it.

Then watch Robby Steinhardt who plays fiddle, basically just singing backup and doing some percussion work, but basically just jumping around on stage playing air guitar and looking like a tiger!
