I used a random generator thing to pick what eeveelutions I'd be using for an eeveelution only run in my sword play-through and jolteon got to be part of my main team (it was a blind play through so I ended up allowing the rest in a "b team" situation to attempt to avoid overleveling haha, used my main team to beat leon though as it was only fitting so my jolteon is now a champion with it's sticker :] ). It was pretty ok, didn't really focus on IVs or EVs so it probably wasn't the best idk, but I loved having 'em on my team
Jolteon definitely gets better in Gen 4 and onward though, with Shadow Ball becoming a special move. This is a more powerful coverage option than its predecessor in Bite; Eevee learns Bite in Gens 2 and 3, where it is a special attack. The problem is, Eevee doesn't learn Bite until Lv. 30 in both GSC and RSEFRLG, although Eevee does start off with it in XD making it a viable option there. If you want to level up your Eevee and allow it to learn Bite, Eevee does come at Lv. 25 in FRLG, so leveling it up by 5 levels to Lv. 30 is definitely an option there (and probably worthwhile to do so for the extra coverage Bite offers). Although, the constraints of this Nuzlocke challenge do require using Eevee in XD so battling with it in FRLG (or any other game) is not an option. If there were the Exp. Share available, Bite could have been an option for Jolteon, I guess. Either that, or get lucky in the Hidden Power lottery, on top of getting lucky enough with Pickup to get a TM10 in the first place.

Will you consider regional variants as different mons? Exemple: Playing Alolan Dugtrio in Ultra Moon even though you played Dugtrio in FireRed. I think it could make it fun!
Yes - this is the one I was waiting for! Can't wait to watch. The GCN games were always my favourites - would have been nice if we had the special/phys split, but still I feel the mechanics and pokemon availability do well in their instances.

I think that taking the first encounter per route (obviously counting dupes) would make this series more interesting, instead of choosing it. By even EV training all your pokemon this challenge seems near impossible to lose. Having random encouters would most likely make you use more pokemon which is like the entire point of the challenge and it would make it more interesting as i said imo. I know that u said in your FAQ that you might as well reset the encounters to get the correct one but in a nuzlocke a reset is not allowed, so idk about that reasoning.
I'm pretty sure the "resetting" is talking about resetting the game itself to get the correct encounter, a strategy that a lot of the more difficult nuzlocks rely on
That'd kinda defeat the purpose of this challenge in the longrun since if he used first encounters willy nilly, he'd rapidly run out of Pokémon in the later games
@Violetflower [WC] that's an incredibly pathetic deflection of criticism. Obviously he can do whatever he wants, I just think it would be more interesting if he changed it slightly
I realized by my own goal of "don't re-use the same pokemon in playthroughs" that I too, have vaguely participated in a Nuzlocke by that definition. Most notably I didn't want to use Salamance or Garchomp in BD/Violet because I used them already in Ruby/Diamond and wanted to change up my team comp. Similarly, I don't allow myself to choose the same starter for the remakes!
I love this approach, I'm binging your episodes right now and I feel like on the so much used nuzlocke challenges throughout the years this is the most original so far
I just noticed you have no pokemon to use for Let's Go Pikachu before Brock. At 1:21:28 you show all used pokemon and have shown that you've used Pikachu, Pidgey, Ratatta, Oddish, Spearow, Nidoran M/F, Caterpie, Weedle, Metapod, Kakuna, Butterfree, Beedrill, and Bulbasaur. That's literally all of the possible encounters before Brock. And with his level cap, it's not like you can twist the rules like you did for Eevee and only catch oddish till one evolves into Gloom. What are your plan for that game?
He mentioned that he was going to use Bellsprout and Oddish respectively earlier in this series, but as you have noticed, Oddish is not available anymore. Earliest you can chain for Chansey is Mt. Moon? And the in-game trade for Alolan Rattata is later as well? Meltan you can only get in Fuchsia? How early can you get the Mew from the Pokéball Plus?
@@bitzibaerlie Yeah, I just double checked and he ends up using Oddish in his Gold playthrough, so there's literally nothing he can catch before Brock in the actual game. After researching the pokeball +, it seems you can do it so long as the pokeball + is connected to your switch. That's literally the only pokemon he can get before Brock.
I think you should do a "previously on" recap at the start, where you show moments in prior parts where you mentioned saving a pokemon or capturing everything to lock in an encounter in a later game. It would really make it feel cooler and let the audience appreciate the planning that went into the route
For example in the case of leaf green you could do a brief bit where you mention the encounters that are possible in route 2 and viridian forest, and remind the viewer which ones you have already used

I think he's resetting fights on deaths. He plays way too riskily and only has deaths in his endgame fights. The second run in Gen 2 made me suspect but as this series has gone on I just can't shake the feeling. You risked your Cacturne to a crit/freeze to Kingdra Ice Beam here. My man killing it with the series, can wait for the rest to come out.
Loved seeing my favorite mon, Butterfree get some use! It can be a great mon if you're playing intelligently due to its versatility in its moveset and pretty decent sp attack and speed. You did great and I can't wait until the next video!
Gale of Darkness was basically my first video game, and to this day, one of my favorite.
Good to know the game Was hard and I wasn't just an idiot.
So pumped for the next video! Gen 4 wasn't my first generation (I'm the same with having played FireRed) but it was the one I first really appreciated and I still love it to this day!
This is such an epic series!! Thanks for all the work you put into these!!
Yo that Fight Fire with Fire Metallica reference was totally unexpected! :D
Loving this challenge!
Don’t usually comment, but man CM! I know these videos take a ton of work for you and I just wanted to say thanks for the content. This is an amazing concept for a series and I know we all appreciate your dedication.
Congrats on 151k subscribers! The most important milestone for any true Pokémon connoisseur
I'd be lying if I didn't say that it bothered me when you named charmander draccosack rather than blaster
I await these with much vigor now. Impressed how quickly you’re pumping them out. Gonna have to do Romhacks next or imma be bored when I’m 33
OK, not going to lie, the "worst copy-pasta ever" caught me off guard and got a good laugh out of me.
Thanks for the video.
@31:44
Terrible joke? That's an AMAZING ONE!!! XD
In fact, I actually like having backup plans enough to the point where I'm keeping that line written down somewhere!
I'm even going to write it down in a second spot so I have a backup plan for the line itself!

Him: giovanni will be a challenge
Also him: one shots 2 of his 3 pokemon
Absolutely love these! Thanks for the hard work! Can't wait to see more!
I was dying of laughter in the XD section because of electabuzz' flailing whenever he was switched into battle 😂 that animation is so funny
38:50 “our newly evolved Loudred tears threw her wailmer” shows wingull
Inspired in this video I build a new Emerald Team , never used before, for now I’m with Grovile, Kadabra, Azumarill(with huge power), Crobat, Seviper(with flamethrower), Ninjask(swords dance.
34:34-34:45 I prefer "heating up leftover pizza and forgetting about it while it's right next to me because I'm in the middle of watching this video". 😜🤦🤷
With how much is at stake here and how much you've planned out I just don't see a world where you reasonably take that risk
It was a really nice episode, thanks for uploading! Cant wait for the next one
New favorite line of anything "Time to bust out the big guns, and busting makes me feel good, Cuz it ohko."
