Por cosas así no se puede, con justicia, comparar a ningún crack del presente con Diego. Era tener, siempre, todo en contra y así brillaba.

Nobodys talking about the touch at 2:05? Yall kidding me, wake up. He killed that ball falling from the sky with a tongue touch (not with the side of foot like todays players) then just touch it off to another player without the ball ever hitting the ground. Only Diego plays like that!!!!

the most player beaten by defenders
There is no censorship, but they wanted to kill him. If he came at this time, we would have seen great fun because of the strictness in arbitration, unlike that time, where he was subjected to the worst types of beatings and kicks from the opponent and in the end he was given a yellow card

Maradona is the most overrated player ever.
We all know what he has achieved with Napoli, Boca, and Argentina winning titles with them.
Maradona’s whole legacy for ranking him as the Greatest player ever is based on that one month 7 game tournament in 1986 and winning Napoli it’s only ever Serie A and European trophy with an average team.
    Overrated International career:
Maradona’s international career is mainly based on the 86 World Cup where he was at his peak carrying an ‘average Argentina team’ but many people never mention his failures outside of that World Cup tournament where he underperformed many times in the Copa America and World Cup, in 1979 Copa America, Maradona only scored 1 goal and had 0 assists in that tournament, he famously choked and underperformed against Brazil with Zico and before people say ‘You cannot judge Maradona by stats’ ‘he was a midfielder’ Watch the whole game on RUclips and you will see how he underperformed against Brazil, Zico who played in the same position outscored him in that tournament and came up clutch head to head against him. In 1982 World Cup Maradona dropped stinkers against Brazil and Italy and only scored 2 goals against a horrible Hungary team who no longer had their best players. In 1987 Copa America Maradona only scored 2 goals (both goals penalties) and underperformed vs Uruguay when it mattered the most. In 1990 World Cup Maradona scored 0 goals and choked and underperformed vs Italy, Germany, Brazil. 1994 he was a disgrace as he was in 86 this time by testing positive and using banned drugs.
    Overrated Club Career:
70% of Maradona’s goals for Napoli came from the penalty spot vs Serie b and c teams and sometimes even d teams. Michel Platini who played in the same position as Maradona was Serie a top-scorer 3 times, Maradona was
only one time Serie a top-scorer with 15 goals… Zico who was over 30 years old dealing with injuries and forced to retire joined udinense who were battling relegation and outscored Maradona’s highest tally in Serie a with 21 goals in his first season. Daniel Passarella who was a defender and teammate of Maradona with Argentina scored the same amount of goals as Maradona did in Serie a in 85-86 with 11 goals… And this was Maradona at his peak! He was never his team’s top-scorer in other competitions or even top-assister. With Boca Maradona’s goals mostly came from the penalty spot and this was in Argentina league where he was able to stat pad vs San Lorenzo and other trash teams. In Serie a Maradona failed to dribble more than two players, having watched his games a lot his dribbling wasn’t effective (very overrated) and he was making a lot of dispossessions every match. Forgot to add Maradona’s top-scoring season in Serie a only 8 goals were from open play/free kicks. Maradona never made it past the 1st round of the champions league and scored only 2 goals in many attempts, he never won a continental title with Boca and underperformed in the biggest club competition on earth (champions league)
    Maradona played with bad teammates:
Possibly the biggest myth of his career was that he carried his team all alone and that he was playing with no bodies… Which is not true! He played with Kempes, Passarella, Burruchaga, Bochini, Valdano, ardiles, etc.
His Argentina team in world cups (1982, 1986, 1990, 1994) only conceded less than 5 goals, titles are won built on solid defence and regardless of whether you have the best player in your team or not, you won’t win anything without a solid defence. The previous winners Italy (1982) conceded six, and West Germany also conceded five on the way to lifting the trophy in 1990. Maradona’s team mates. The teams that won 2 Serie a titles with him, ended up with 167 Italian Caps between them - hardly average players. The defence contained a young Ciiro Ferrara who went on to won six more trophies with Juventus, along with the 1996 Champions League. Also in the squad were Italian Internationals Salvatore Bagni, Fernando De Napoli, Bruno Giordano (more of him later) and Andrea Carnevale. He also had Careca who was one of the best strikers of his generation.
    Drugs, Cocaine and cheating:
Maradona was tested positive for cocaine in 1991 and was banned for 15 months in Italian football, in 1994 World Cup he was tested positive for using drugs and in 1986 he cheated against England by scoring the famous hand of god goal, a few minutes after that he went on to score ‘the goal of the century’ but if you watch the footage before the goal Glen hoddle was fouled and the referee ignored him, the English team were shocked and could not imagine what had just happened.
Maradona is arguably one of the greatest Argentine players ever and maybe a top 20 player ever but there are a lot of myths and
misconceptions that have made him overrated by football fans and the media.

Maradona was the most magical and talented player ever. He was so good that the only way to stop him was to foul him, and because of the rubbish rules back then that's all the opposition did back then and always got away with it.
All the opposition teams knew that If they played "fairly" against Maradona he would destroy them every time, hence they had to viciously foul him to stop him.
If his teammates were so good, then why did they miss huge numbers of chances created by Maradona? He only ever had one or two decent players in his teams and the rest were very average
Messi has said "If I played for a 1000 years I could never be like Maradona and I wouldn't want to be either" and Brazilian legend Ronaldo has said that "Maradona is the best player in history" and they both know alot more about football than you do
Maradona played at the toughest time in history to play football and still played the best football anyone has ever played. If he was playing today under today's rules and player protection, he would be even way more ahead of everyone else.
Maradona is easily the best player ever and others can fight for the second spot

I listen to players that played on the same pitch with Maradona. Many of these great players of that time say Maradona was the best player they shared a football pitch with... ie. Gullit, Linekar etc
