It’s ultimately that sound… those tone colors… that unexpected Fermata… that little vibrato here and there that always makes me come back to Segovia… it’s as if he’s creating the piece as he plays it… making microsecond decisions that show deep artistry and fearlessness.

agreed! This is also how I like to play - I honestly believe many players today don't allow themselves this artistic freedom - I certainly don't claim to sound like Segovia but growing up listening to him and Bream has ingrained in me, that the performer has a great artistic freedom - otherwise simply listen to a midi file of a classical piece - if not for the tonal colors, soulfulness and expression of the individual

Segovia, sarà per il nome che richiama una pratica ben più nobile, lo apprezzo di più. Ma forse il merito è di Bach.

...o gênio dos gênios, ímpar e inigualável! Seu toque diferenciado parece q estudava nota por nota, acorde x acorde sentindo a alma do autor das peças! Não ouvi gravações de Barrios, Sors, Tárrega e outros violonistas lendários, mas ouvi Regino Saens de Lá Maza e outros grandes intérpretes, e afirmo: gênio inigualável! ....fiz 6 anos de Conservatório e dei alguns recitais. Segóvia sempre foi o anjo do violão clássico transformando cada fragmento de um som numa essência divinizada! ...❤
