I agree! It's not as good as it looks in the video, promise. We've done this a long time and we'd never destroy a good car. We do plan on parting it out so that others can restore vehicles they love.
@@moparhotrodshop Yeah you can more acurately acess the damages when you have eyes on it. But we still need every remaining classics on the road ^^ . A parted out car is a lost car. But yeah, some people need some hard to find parts.
It really is such a shame! It's so much worse than the video depicts, in person it's pretty rough. We'd love to have someone who could restore or needed a very good parts car get it, but we aren't able to make this one go again. :( Needs too much time and money for us.
I agree with the other posters that said to fix it up. You can probably flatten out the trunk and find a rear window. I would put the engine you took out of the Belvedere in the Newport. Unless it has a shorter transmission (904) than the one in the Newport (727) because that would mean having your driveshaft lengthened or finding another drive shaft. Don't you think that 1969 only steering wheel on the Newport is cool?
Please tell me it's not going to be junk. That cars in way to good of shape to trash. Beside the trunk & back glass. Put a 318 in & it be a sweet cruiser!
A long time ago someone tried to cheat in a derby with a similar '69 newport, they welded bar stock down the pinch welds and tied the 2 subframes together, the car was almost splitting other cars in half after one hit, they were dq'd and banned from competing for 5 years.
I would say that is one heck of a deal indeed, I would have definitely scooped that up in a heartbeat, I could actually use some of the interior dash parts for my 1969 Chrysler 300 I am building right now, I will have more videos on it soon. Loved the video, you all did really well, glad to have met you all at NoNameNationals
Yes, we were so excited about finding this gem! We’d love to catch up again, and if you are needing anything that can help restore another car let us know. If you will be at No Name Nationals this year, we’ll have you come by and check it out as we live pretty close to the track. @scottsspeedshop
@moparhotrodshop oh I definitely appreciate the reply, I could definitely use most of the dash switches, the ignition switch, if I could get it, mind really needs a dash pad, mine is missing a chunk and is warped. I'd definitely like to buy or swap parts with ya
A Plymouth will already. Oh my goodness. That is so nice a car. I hadn't seen one of those since I left the neighborhood 15 seconds ago. Like those big costs really comfortable. The selling point on those cars when they came out was the point that you could put everything in the trunk. Have a large space and save money if you had to to sleep in the back seat until you've got to your new apartment. It was a Roomie interior. Never had a problem out of one Grandpa I got it. Now my daughter got it. It's very nice when you can put everything in the trunk, including the kitchen sink. You wanna take it with you? But you don't have to really go nowhere.😮 Surprise the seed that crossed on the trunk. You know that was a big selling point, but those mopars I used to like to watch the shows. The dragnet and stuff and they would have these really big calls and they were big That would sell.
I think there's a trend on the other side of the world where they INTENTIONALLY crush old cars just enough that they're still drivable. Forget if it's Netherlands or what.
Oh my gosh! I'll have to check into that! Thanks for sharing! We don't like to see things messed up unnecessarily, but we also like learning about other places.
The camera does it a lot of justice. It's rougher in person, if it could be saved reasonably we would, but it's just one of those things that doesn't make sense. Not enough time or money here.
That's not a parts car, that deserves a new deck lid and rear window, I've seen much worse repaired. There's 100 Belvederes for every Newport you see, and that B body will never drive even close to as nice as the C body no matter what you do to it. I like them all, but I wish Mopar people would finally put work into these C bodies like they do A and B bodies, GM people restore Cadillacs and Buicks and Ford people restore Lincolns and Mercurys and most Mopar people restore economy cars and muscle cars and chop up luxury cars.
Trust me pics do it justice. Nothing in me wanted to part this car. But the roof is buckled, the 1/4 is wrinkled from front to back. The back door is wedged shut. The rear deck lid frame is all caved in. The front fender gap is off bad. The problem with restoring C bodies in my opinion is no parts available. I’m not a C body guy but do love them. I’d never spare a crushed C body in hope to find parts. This one will go on to make other cars nicer. Have a bunch of guys wanting parts to make their car better. The drive home in this car made me want to fix it, but then reality kicked in when the cost to fix and trying to find a car made me realize it would never be something I’d do.
The '71 Imperial on my channel was hit very hard many years ago in the passenger rear quarter, enough to shift the unibody on both sides and damage the C pillar. But it was restored back to almost new, and it's a whole lot harder to get that unibody back in shape if it's a hardtop, where that Newport is pillared. C body parts are hard to get, but Imperial parts are almost impossible, but these cars are worth saving so I put in the work to keep them on the road. And if that drives straight as is, that is certainly worth saving, but once that engine is out, no one will touch it for a restoration. That's too bad, mine was headed for that same fate when I bought it.
that oil pan on the c-body pn 187 is slightly different than a b-body oil pan pn 402 the sump in the pan on the c-body is slightly further up. how many miles are on that 383, if it has low miles on it dont assume any internals arent worn. the old bearing materials have more tin in the bearings than the higher performance engines did so check those rod bearings. std 2 bbl 383s had low compression pistons a center dish somewhat what the 360s had through the years. dont over cam it. they run good with a mild r/v type single pattern cam.use a std oil pump with a black oil pump spring. good luck with the 383. they used those 383s for a reason in the police cars. out of the hole they went like a s.o.b!
Everything you said is spot on! Yes, we are excited it have gotten this deal. We fully plan on spot checking the bearings and this engine is exactly what we wanted to run pump gas and have it back on the street. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
HEY ITS MICHAEL FROM MIDWEST HOT RODZ IN OKLAHOMA, I GOT MY MOPAR HOT ROD SHOP T- SHIRT TODAY , JUST IN TIME TO WEAR IT WHILE I WATCHED YOUR LATEST VIDEO. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING FUTURE VIDEO'S ON THIS BUILD. SEE YOU IN THE NEXT VIDEO.
Was a legit conversation we had! Would be neat, but we really hate to cut it up. I think we've decided to part her out. Would prefer someone buy the entire car as a parts car for their project. :)
Ho yeah this Newport is totaly fixable and we need EVERY remaining classic cars to go back on the road.

No no that Chrysler is to be fixed. So worth getting a new trunk lid and lights and window. The roof even is not smashed, such a shame sorry!😊😢

That could be fixed! You need a cheap parts car for that car!
Exelente pareja, ambos trabajando en su taller, quisiera estar alla y poner mi tallersito allá
A 5.7 with a 6 speed would make that a fun fast car. My fave Mopar Engine of that era is a 383 with a 727. Great combo for street or work or towing.
the fuselage cars look smokin in Turbine Bronze burnt orange

That Chrysler looks to be a easy fix replace the trunk lid and rear window the rest of the car looks like new.

I saw 489 cases go for $1,000 bucks at the Pennsylvania swap meet at carlise earlier in July 😮

I would say yes.....
22:30 good lord that fender looks 10 feet long 😂
RIGHT! :D It's amazing, cars used to be so cool!
Good engine and transmission for the belvedere. It'd be cool to fix the Newport but the belvedere is cooler.
Deals are not too hard to find on stuff like this if you are willing to look and wait for someone that really wants to sell.
Can someone tell me who is singing the song starting at 5:10
It was off of Soundstripe, the artist name is: Adrian Walther - the song is “Wherever You Are” and it features Jessie Villa.
@@moparhotrodshop Hi, I just checked that artist and thats not the song
@@moparhotrodshop Do you know who the list of music artists you used for the video thanx
Four door sedan Mopars are extremely cool, have several. I see you guys have a 1960 Dodge sedan, should put that one on the road, very cool design.
When "the burnout" is in a Newport 4dr sedan, well it just makes the next guys burnout look like it's Thursday. Just sayin :P
If you part it? That dash looks to be uncracked, the 8.75" can be cut to fit several cars.the grille & insert look good...a lot of payback on that car
Buddy has a hemi gtx with caved in roof. Says it is his retirement fund. Going to fix it when he retires.
Make it into a pick-up….
Id like to have it to fix
Nice car. Dang tree.
It is such a beautiful car, we’d love to have someone who has a heart for them C-bodies get it and restore it, that guy just ain’t us.
1st and Last burnout in one video ! lol
Thats not a parts car in 2024. Thats a fixer upper. Find a deck lid and a rear window.
So sad hard hit . She'll live on . Lots of parts left ! My first ride was a 69 Newport custom miss her ! 🇺🇸🫡
Too bad the old girl got smushed so bad. I’m sure you two can find some good homes for the parts you don’t need though.
That's exactly what we thought as well! We'd love to see her go on to restore other old cars and keep them running and in good condition!
