As someone who hasn’t been up to date with Transformers toys, I got curious about the Siege Megatron mold. Apparently, the Fractured Friendship 2-pack marks the 12th use of the Siege Megatron mold.
Honestly kinda wild that they did the two best versions of the Siege Megs mold last. Genuinely if this was like the second or third time we’d seen it it’d probably have been a lot better received. It’s too bad.
Considering I only have the original Siege version of the mold this would be only my second copy, so I actually am kinda interested. Plus, I like the weapons he comes with.
I know it wouldn't fit the timeline but imagine if they'd given us a mainline version of MTMTE Megs in this set. Maybe in a Co-Captains 2-pack with him and an IDW Rodimus? Hey I can dream, can't I?
The funniest part about those arm cannons. The IDW comic that this mold comes from has a panel with Orion Pax even saying that they are purely decorative as he’s trapped in a closet without any other weapons while fighting with a bunch of thugs in the Rodian Police Station.
Imagine what the final version of Megatron will be like. To be more specific I mean the version where he has the triple barrel fusion cannon, the iconic chromedome helmet, and other iconic Megatron traits that he shows in the movie when he’s full “Megatron mode”
I understand that for most people, this set is a hard pass because of the Megatron. But, for me, since I had to stop collecting right as Siege started, I never got that mold. So this is a must buy for me!
Really cool figures and great review. But I gotta say, them hollow pieces are becoming a real pet peeve of mine. They remind me of those cheap knock offs I used to get as a kid from the flea market. Its cool to see 3rd party upgrade kits trying to fix that issue with some figures.
I liked the feature of the weapon being a replacement for their hand, leaning into how much they are Transformers by having their arm changing into the weapon, instead of them being vanilla with holding it in their hand.
I wonder what Megatron's Cybertronian form looked like. I doubt it was a tank. Shame we can't have another gun. The pick and hammer is good since he was forced to work in the mines too. That mold for Pax is cool.
Now that he wields the mysterious might of the awesome Laffy-Taffy mallet, I don't see how Megatron can be stopped. Orion should try to find the mysterious Matrix of the Everlasting Gobstopper to counter it.
Got this a few days ago. There's something about the red plastic on Orion that feels really cheap. It's flexible, so the chest pieces can pop off pretty easily, and it just looks weirdly flat. Hope the ToyHax labels make it look better.
That Orion Pax/Optus Pexus mold is a better Gamer Edition Prime than Gamer Edition Prime. I know the SSGE is more game-accurate (like, a _lot_ more accurate) but this mold is just a much better figure.
As much as i'd love a new mould for megs, this ain't a bad use of the siege mould. I wasn't a big fan of it in siege and earthrise, but i loved what they did with miner megatron, and thisbnew gladiator looks sick. So far it's my second favourite version of this mould. I just wish that they will finally retire it after this set
@@makswolanski5549 Agreed, for a start every time Megatron turned into a gun in the cartoon he mass shifted to fit in someone's (usually Starscream's) hand so coming with his gun form as an accessory would be more acurate than a gun mode in my book anyway. I just know it's a hot button for a small faction of fans.
Oh LORD it has heen too long since I've been here 😅😮💨 First time in so long and the first comment that sticks out is "Thats what this figure does to me, he makes my tongue stop working" 😂 As MUCH as this mold just needs to be trashed and replaced by something new, this really is the only mold that could wirk for IDW Megatron with the front tank treads housed on his back, every other Megatron that's outside of IDW should have been a completely different mold each time. I enjoy how the D-16 miner Megatron and Gladiator Megatron look in this mold. And you know hasbro is trying to reel you into buying this when they give Megatron 4 accessories. 2 from the previous Megatron and 2 exclusive for a Gladiator Megatron. The IDW security officer Orion Pax, Hasbro retioling the Studio Series Gamer edition Optimus eas a very smart move while also incorperating the upper body detailing from his Humble Beginnings release. The base figure as itself, its a work of art that I. MUST. HAVE. Then you olug un his double barrel wrist blasters and thats where grown men weep tesrs of joy. This figure is incredible for something that is a HEAVY retool from gamer edition. I found it funny how Hasbro included the cannon handle from the GE upgrade kit made by DNA, for once they learned frim their mistakes 😅 I dont know if its just me but i always get excited for a matrix of Leadership thats not just a reuse from all those Seige, Earthrise and Kingdom releases. The colours just work so well for these two and Im all for it, but now that i think about it, my wallet is going ti be screaming at me, "Lord gave mercy on me" 😂 I need this set, Pax's original set with Senator Shockwave and D-16s original set with Senator Ratbat. I hooe we see the likes of Sentinel Prime and Megatronus Prime at some stage
I picked this pack up but just to get an IDW security officer Orion Pax to go with senator Shockwave. The gladiator Megatron would had been an easy pass, but will take up room on the shelve for now.
I fit in the camp of being a little bit angry thay the Gamer Optimus wasn't nearly as good as this remold. They fixed every grievance I had with the mold. He's the a little bit taller, he's got the hands covered in vehicle mode, and he can hold the gun without removing the arm. I really love the Gamer Edition Optimus figure but he would've been so much better if they'd just gotten it this good the first time.
Actually hoping to pick this two pack up - never got the previous Meg/Ratback pack because I couldn't care less about a 86 Scourge remold, and Orion fixes most of the problems I had with the GE Prime without it trying to replace my original deluxe WFC Prime
The only thing that'll be fractured is my bank account because that is a hefty price point. Still wanna get it tho, i personally like the Megatron mold a bit, but the SS WFC heavy re-tool for IDW's Orion Pax is pretty damn great
Is it just me or does the front of Orion's truck mode have slight similarities to armada prime's truck mode,think of it big blue windshield and a red similar truck face,non canon thing saying that orion pax upgraded into armada prime lol

Seeing the pink on those Energon accessories, reminded me of a question I’ve had for a while: Is light blue the natural color of unrefined Energon and pink is the color it becomes once refined and safely processed to use and consume? (I know it depends on the continuity, but generally speaking, is Energon light blue unless processed into a form safe to use, at which point it becomes pink, or is it the other way around? Or is it like, Energon at its base, regular form, is blue or pink, but can change what color it is based on how it’s processed and what it’s used for? I know in TF Prime, green is the color of Synthetic Energon, (although Toxic Energon is also green, but a more darker, muted green) but in Bumblebee, Energon seems to be green, but only when it’s running through other machines, and when Transformers are connecting themselves/their technology to other machinery. In Transformers Rise of the Beasts, Energon is shown to be on Earth, and glows light blue when activated, so I think it might be dependent on where the energon is, where it’s going, how it’s being processed, and what it’s being used for. But hey…that’s just a theory! A TRANSFORMERS THEORY!!!
I simply refuse to spend $75 on two Voyager class figures, both of which are retools of existing molds, of which Megatron is the 14th variation of the impossibly outdated Seige mold. When this set goes on clearance for $3.50, I MIGHT consider picking it up, but not before then...

I think a leader class SS86 is coming next year, it'll still be a tank but they'll likely retire it after this year.
