...8 years later, and their separation from Ford, they are now entirely an upmarket company. Literally, they have their own segment in the market. They’re not economy, and they’re not entry-level luxury. Just upmarket.

Saabkyle04, the mesh material on the top of the sunroof wasn't to block the sunlight. It was actually a solar panel used to power a secondary fan unit inside the car that was designed to keep the car's interior cool. Very advanced for its time.

This is the second car I ever Owned. It was amazing until it was stolen from my driveway.
I remember when I discovered the “secret” (obviously not a secret) over drive at high speeds. Over 100mph the car changes down to a super low gear and does 100 mph + at like 2000-2500rpm 👍🏼
This thing is a true highway cruiser.

Beautiful car, really like it and I'd like to buy one in this condition, very nice. I don't know if it is just me but I feel like these kind of vintage cars are far more better than the car we have now, I mean look the quality of this Mazda 929 back to the early 90s, well maybe it is the top of the line Mazda car back to 1993. Love it, really love it. A master piece for sure! Hope Mazda will build the full size sedan called Mazda 9 in the future.

I purchase a 1994 Mazda 929 in the year of 2000 with 100,000 mi. Love the car it was gorgeous. Especially, the lite blue leather interior and chrome trim. I traded it in 2007 with 288k miles with the original engine and transmission, and the only things I replaced during ownership were a radiator and a starter. Also, I always rolled with the head and fog lights on.

When starting the engine on this and many early and mid-90s Mazda models (cold starts in particular of the 929 & MPV in particular; sometimes other V6 models), the early revs and the sound of the engine after cold starts is amazing. My dad owned a 1986 929, back when Mazda still made a Rear Wheel Drive sedan 👍

All 929s were rear-wheel drive until the model was discontinued in 1995.

This is a good car and it's rare... Very nice styling. The reason that they didn't put a glove box is bc of the airbag system occupied that space and they made the center console deeper then normal to compensate for a glove box.

Kyle, I'm going to open a FANCLUB here in GREECE for you. A Camry and the 929 together? Do you wanna kill me?
I simply loooooooooooooooooove these old japanese luxury cars! Thank you so much.
PS: Might add the 929 looks like a true spaceship. European cars are usually small, so once I saw a 929 between Fiats and Seats in Italy, it was like a whole iron continent moving.

I'm surprised that one of the viewers knew about the proposed "Amati" line that never materialized. Very good. I will tell you this though, I have always wanted one of these cars ever since I first saw one. All the ones I have seen were torn up so badly it would've taken too much money to bring them back. I would imagine that they would bring a fair price for their exclusive status now. Too bad, this is a nice example of a forgotten car.

Hell ya Peter Frampton! also pretty rare for a 1993 car to have an in-dash CD player

The dash kinda reminds me off a boat. I'm not saying it's bad, I actually think it looks really cool!

If they could do this in '93, imagine what they could do if they brought back a car like the 929 or Millenia to compete with the Genesis. :)

One correction. These cars did not have tilt steering wheels, and the air bag took over the space of the glove box
