Tarikh Episode 594
Tarikh is a daily program in which we present you with incidents and stories of noteworthy persons of History in Hindi. In this edition Tarikh Nikhil talks about the Operation All Clear. This was a military operation conducted by Royal Bhutan Army forces against Assam separatist insurgent groups in the southern regions of Bhutan. It happened between 15 December 2003 and 3 January 2004. It was the first operation ever conducted by the Royal Bhutan Army.
In 1990 India launched operations Rhino and Bajrang against Assamese separatist groups. Facing continuous pressure, Assamese militants relocated their camps in Bhutan. In the 1990s, United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) and National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) allegedly assisted the government of Bhutan in the expulsion of the ethnic Lhotshampa population, occupying the land left behind by the refugees.
In 1996 the Bhutan government became aware of a large number of camps on its southern border with India. The camps were set up by three Assamese separatist movements: the ULFA, NDFB and Kamtapur Liberation Organization (KLO). The camps had been established with the goal of training cadres and storing equipment, while the thick jungles of the region also enabled the militants to easily launch attacks into Indian territory. India then exerted diplomatic pressure on Bhutan, offering support in removing the rebel organisations from its soil. 25 December 2003 The Royal Bhutan Army conducted a military Operation and All camps of militants were removed. Many militants were killed.

I am Indian by birth Now, and i am proud to be Indian. But if we look back historically the Entire North East India was not apart of India before the British colonization .That is why NSCN, ULFA took up arms against the Indian government and declaring it as colonized till date (India) . It was never the bhutanese army that conducted the Operation..their king had clearly said that their army couldn't face the insurgents..its was the Indian army which conducted the operation with active air support from IAF..bhutanese army acted as mere scouts or only a few of them fought along with the indian army..the bhutanese who fought received heavy casualties..the have a war memorial at punaka for that...
You are wrong.... operation all clear was conducted by Bhutanese army...not Indiana army.. my father was there in the war he is a army...he along with is platoon was appointed to fight in Dewathang..with ULFA...he told they did the first attack with 6 machine gun...that time ULFA were eating breakfast..he said immediately about 20 ULFA were killed....our soldiers were well trained and well motivated...in the war a total of 700 terrorist were killed and 300 captured...we lost 11 solders and 34 wounded...but we never celebrated the victory as there was lost of human life both the side...the memorial is not only for the fallen soldiers but for all those who died in the war...

One famous incident of abuse is that the Army once came to a School in Dhemaji, District, called all students to the field and then the headmaster of the school was kneeld down and forced to to uthak beithak in front of the whole school. He was a old man in his sixties. No connection to any insurgant group. There are many more. These are just a few.

1. British didn't capture Assam by fighting with "Janjatis"..they took over by signing a treaty with the Burmese King..with whom Assamese forces were fighting.
2. Paresh Baruah didn't form ULFA
3. KLO didn't demand separate BODO(Pronounced BORO) Land..their name itself is KAMATAPUR(Their state demand based on erstwhile Koch-Rajbongshi territories) Liberation Organization.
4. A major factor in Bhutan providing shelter to ULFA was also due to historical relations between Assam and Bhutan
5. Although on paper you are correct in saying Bhutanese Army did Operation All clear but everyone knows the reality

Nepalese were used by British to colonise and keep themselves and their security safe...That is why British brought and settled Gorkhas in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Siliguri ,Sikkim as well to protect themselves if any major rebellion happened in Bengal because of the rebellions there....On Countless occasions Gorkha regiment were used to kill Bengali rebellions.
After the British Left, Indian Govt continued the strategy of using Nepalese (Gorkha ) as footsoldiers to keep states like West Bengal (which has a history of Protest and conflict with Central Govt) in check along with the hope that Nepalese could be used to convince Bhutan into India as was done with Sikkim.
Gorkhas were used as a demographic wave to wipe off or hold other states in East India ,Indian govt is suspicious of....Majorly West Bengal....Which is why Indian Govt had kept and keeps NEPALESE BORDER completely open, even though Nepalese never were part of British India nor joined India after 1947.....There are secret understanding between Kathmandu and Delhi on how how to colonise the East India for their mutual benefits.
While Bhutan successfully resolved this ruse...Sikkim failed...And to some extent West Bengal failed too and today u have Gorkhas demanding Gorkhaland in West Bengal ,a region which is nowhere close to where GORKHAS originally hail from..Gorkhas are Tibetan stock and their centre was Kathmandu which is more close to UP than Bengal or Bhutan.😀.

Yandaboo was not signed by the king of Assam Britishers did cheating with the king of Assam and occupied assam so we are not part of India technically.

Central Government never support or focus or care for actual Assamese people, they focus mainly on all those illegal migrants (Bangladeshis). In most of the Government institutions we can observe Non Assamese people serving as head of the department which cause more employment to Non Assamese people and Assamese People are unemployed, poor and now many Assamese people are afraid to Marry as their financial status are not stable which is causing low Assamese People within Our own Home State. And Bangladeshi Population increasing day by day and they are now openly dominating our Assamese People and many Incidents can be seen due to these reasons.
Assamese people are coming to other states for employment.What is your problem ? Problem is only with the Assamese chauvinists.
