Loved your reaction to this movie it really was devastating when Ben killed his father but it had so many memories of Luke's first fight to take out the Death Star I loved that !!!
Chewie shot Kylo in the kidney, which isn't necessarily fatal, but is incredibly serious. Further, he was shot with the bow caster, which the film has already shown us hits with massive power. This is like getting shot with a .50 caliber bullet, not the shitty pistol round either, but the full size bullet used in heavy machine guns. The power of this wound should have killed him, but his strength in the Dark Side is keeping him on his feet and mobile. He occasionally stops to punch himself in the wound to increase his suffering, thus increasing his power in the Dark Side of the Force, thus keeping him alive. This also plays into how Rey is able to beat him. 1) she's strong in the Force even if she's untrained, 2) she's been using melee weapons her whole life and using a sword isn't all that different, 3) Kylo specifically is trying to capture her not kill her and, 4) he's almost fucking dead on his feet.
That whole fight makes so much more sense when you realise all these details. But I don't know a single person who caught up on all these on first viewing. Think the impression of the movie for many would have been a lot better if they manage to make all these point clearer, I don't know how they would have done that though.

@@alexbrooking1521 There were several factors that caused that outcome. The more experienced combatant was injured, having just been shot in the gut by a wookie bowcaster. That combatant's mental state was also compromised, causing him to be less focused. In the end, he wasn't actually defeated; he chose to retreat because it was no longer safe to continue the fight due the ground splitting up. A retreat isn't a defeat, it's a to be continued.
Most stormtroopers volunteer for service. There is an absolutely amazing fan made movie about stormtroopers called “IMPS The Relentless”. It’s like a documentary about the empire during Darth Vaders time and there’s a couple of them released
Empire stormtroopers =/= First Order stormtroopers. If Hux says his men are programmed from birth, and if Finn says "like ALL of them, I was taken from a family I'll never know," then I think we can believe them.
colette, we saw the illininem system in the cartoon in the middle of the Star Wars Holiday Special from 1978, it was on cbs one night in december of 1978 instead of the incredible Hulk tv show, they never released it on vhs or dvd, but people recorded it off of tv using their vcrs. and then traded copies of it at comic book conventions, that is how i first saw it, it is now on youtube, but make sure you watch a version that has a cartoon in the middle.
_Everyone_ loved this movie when it came out. It gave us hope, so to speak. Honestly, I still think it's one of the best films in the franchise, it's a shame the two sequels had no idea where they were going... The very definition of diminishing returns.
@@TheLegendOfRandy i would agree that it would be a good movie if it were the first ever "star wars" therefore they would get rid of the fact the movie is one giant reference. now my take on these movies is not simply because rey is a woman lead, but because she is a feminist installment version of luke, whom also required absolutely no training to beat a sith lord trained by luke up to late teens/early twenties and snoke up to mid/late twenties. Not only that but they took two of the most beloved characters in cinema history--- luke and han, killed one of em off, which was "alright" the way they did it, and then made, luke someone who turned darth vader back to the light attack his nephew/best friends child/sisters child and made him a homeless hermit whom disrespected the force after being the first jedi in centuries to have realized emotions had a great importance in the power and lives of the jedi and the light side in general.
@@TheLegendOfRandy Not everyone! I remember feeling let down, and thinking it was just a rehash of Ep4, and I couldn't even remember all the new character's names, AND I could think of many ways it could have been better. Also, when I commented that 90% of fans hated it, I was talking about the next movie, Ep8, not this one.
When Kylo got shot by chewie hit him in the side. The side he kept smacking wolf of Wall Street style to increase the pain. The dark side gains strength from pain and anger. So he was hitting his wound to increase his side side energy.
Awesome braids! Awesome reaction! Kylo Ren was causing himself pain (hitting his wound) and using it to gain more strength (dark emotions). feeding on his pain. ( or something like that).
I saw the original Star Wars movies when they were released in the theaters in the 70's. The Star Wars purists didn't care much for these particular chapters in the story. I think the biggest problem they had with it was how they portrayed Luke, but then again none of the movies gave us the real Luke Skywalker. I'm not a purist but I do share the sentiment about Luke's portrayal. I also never had an issue with Ray becoming so good so fast. I quite like her character.
Congrats. You are not a fan. This trilogy's story actually makes 1-6. which you pretend to be a fan of, completely pointless. And no. It has nothing to do with Luke. Maybe try to understand the movies you are watching?
A bunch of imperial forces on the death star saw Luke Skywalker get taken to the Emperor's chambers and walk out with Darth Vader's body, and then the death star exploded. He is a myth. He probably terrifies them.
If you watch the moment they enter Maz Kanata’s bar, and go frame by frame, you’ll see a few frames of a bunch of aliens roasting E.T. on a spit. Since Steven Spielberg is George Lucas’ unofficial partner in SW (just as George is Steven’s unofficial partner in IJ series) this Is a very dark and funny sendup to him.
This is about to get exciting lol. LOVED TFA when it came out, the hype surrounding it and everything. What a time of innocence and unity for all Star Wars fans.
Oh my goodness! Is that your real hair? Looks amazing, even if it's not.
colette, we saw the illininem system in the cartoon in the middle of the Star Wars Holiday Special from 1978, it was on cbs one night in december of 1978 instead of the incredible Hulk tv show, they never released it on vhs or dvd, but people recorded it off of tv using their vcrs. and then traded copies of it at comic book conventions, that is how i first saw it, it is now on youtube, but make sure you watch a version that has a cartoon in the middle.
Interesting that she loved this movie! Wonder what she’ll say about Ep8? We know what 90% of fans think about it 😂
Atleast the fans on the internet. Personally I liked it more than Episode 1 and 2 and it's my favourite from the Sequels.
@@thegrin9748 what do you mean luke had absolutely no training?
You've got the best insights... aaaand, the cutest teeth ever!
wtf?
Leave her alone…
@@stigkenobi7525 One of the purists I spoke of. smh
Yay i love this movie
Chewbacca's yell when han get it with the lightsaber is what got me😢
Nostalgia is a strong drug
And Disney became the biggest dealer of all
In the worst of ways
A bunch of imperial forces on the death star saw Luke Skywalker get taken to the Emperor's chambers and walk out with Darth Vader's body, and then the death star exploded.
He is a myth. He probably terrifies them.
The island that Luke was on is an island off the coast of Ireland
Super reaction. I really like Rey too. Thank you.
Hello 🙋♂️. I'm happy to see your reaction about this film, even I finished to don't like the sequel 😊😁... But I like that you love Star Wars 🌟
Carrie Fishers daughter is in the Sequel Trilogy movies
59:21 pain is a dark side emotion. He draws strength from his pain. Sith mastication.
Loved the reaction, please finish the trilogy soon!
Luke hadn’t seen his father’s saber since his cut off hand was holding it. What a moment.
What a plot hole. Sad they wrote the movie for the dumbest common denominator.
You should watch them from 1 to 9. It feels better.
Colette. You say all the right things.
Training is silly when you can just download your force powers during the Kylo Mind probe. I'm not even making that up. That's the explanation.
But the Dyad...
40 seconds into the video: SO LUKE'S IN THIS! YAY!
Me: oh you wait :D
"That's not how the Force works!" Han's come so far since it was just a hokey religion.
1:00:00, He's hitting himself to agitate the wound, to feel pain. Pain keeps one more in tune with the Dark Side.
This is about to get exciting lol. LOVED TFA when it came out, the hype surrounding it and everything. What a time of innocence and unity for all Star Wars fans. Can't wait to see if you love the last jedi as much as I did. Hope you can look past some of it's weaknesses and take in all the depth it has
Ren isn't more terrifying than Vader never ever say that again
harrison fords death scene, was such a harrison ford moment.
Fun fact: Harrison Ford wanted Han Solo to be killed in Return of the Jedi
41:38 the moment Colette Cherry was willing to get it on with a tyrant.
This Movie takes place 30 years after Episode 6 Return Of The Jedi. Episode 4 A New Hope took place 20 years after Episode 3 Revenge Of The Sith.
In real life, it was 16 years that Phantom Menace came out after Return of the Jedi. So everybody was pumped for Phantom Menace but no one liked it
Kylo more intimidating than Vader 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 that’s funny
Why?
This movie was the 10 year return of the franchise. This movie made the franchise popular once again, that is until the two sequels came along.
AGREED. I REALLY like this film too and Rogue-One. Live Long and Prosper,OOPS,wrong movie/tv franchise. LOL. May The Force Be With You
Oh boy, the sequel trilogy. The beginning of the end for Star Wars. After this film, it all goes downhill from now.
I'm watching the Clone Wars animated movie right now that was released in the movie theater years ago and your video at the same time
