£277 - Breaking with Ottoman tradition, Suleiman married Hürrem Sultan, a woman from his harem, an Orthodox Christian of Ruthenian origin who converted to Islam, and who became famous in the West by the name Roxelana, due to her red hair. Their son, Selim II, succeeded Suleiman following his death in 1566 after 46 years of rule, interspersed with study at the University of Sankore.
The Ottomans absolutely destroy any kind of domination game, their abilities are just so synched together and the unique governor pushes them from an A++ Civ to an S Tier civ. I love the challenges you do with them too! Also can't forget one of the best mods, Civilizations Expanded!!
I simply love to play ottoman with victor. Give him Embrasure promotion to grant a free level up to warriors, and build Terracotta Army to grant them another level up, lastly they will granted with third promotion when I upgrade to Janissary. Although you are not allowed to do this with today's rules.
Definitely agree with this! I feel like most civs absolutely should, it would definitely increase what their civilization could do. Would love a mod to add every leader having their own unique governor based on their actual advisors/friends at the time.
@KingOfTheDomreys (Mordecai) For example, you could have an English governor based on an EIC governor. Maybe he gives extra loyalty from amenities or extra copies of strategics And how's this for a final promotion! If he's placed in a conquered city, you can build the original owner's unique unit!
@@robmartin525 I feel like most leaders should specifically have governors that were actual advisors to their empire at the specific time, that boost their own playstyle, for example Charmion was the Advisor to Cleopatra, I feel like in this case Charmion should expand her playstyle abilities. Another example is Lord Melbourne as Victoria's advisor, where he boosts her own playstyle abilities. Again, another example is Enkidu for Gilgamesh, Lucius Licinius Sura for Trajan, Bishop Eberhard for Friedrich, Cosimo Ruggeri for Catherine, Chanakya for Chandragupta, Marquis de Paraná for Pedro, Cacamatzin for the Aztec, and Booker T Washington for Roosevelt to name a few.
Another scenario in which religious units are useful as scoutting units is for exploring the territory of someone who's denounced you and thus you cannot get open boarders with them.
since starting to watch Ursa, I have gone from struggling with Prince to easily crushing Emperor. However, my attempts at Immortal have been rebuffed. I keep getting boxed in early on and struggling. Sadness reigns. Anyone have thoughts from their transition?
The more you play a difficulty option, the quicker you get to know the AI patterns and behavior. Tho, if you are having some trouble with Immortal, try a pacifist strategy and be on the IA good side before you play aggressive/somination oriented games.
I understand why you didn’t go monumentality because it wasn’t necessarily the best option and I know you like changing things up, but it physically hurt me when you didn’t pick it for ur heroic age Ursa :(
Is this a modded Ottoman? because i don't have those bonuses when i play soleyman. I don't have the food and amenities from commercial hubs nor do i have the production and housing from holy sites. I also don't have the 20% reduction for buying great people. Edit 2 minutes later : ok it's modded.
Am I the only one who finds the Island Plates map script annoying? It’s literally a rule that each tile must border a either a mountain tile or a sea tile. So you get these weird single tile mountains all over every island.
this is so infuriating!! ive tried your recent Ottoman save. I get attacked by everyone. cant get more than 2 cities. cant get first religion. I've tried 4 times. this play thru is rigged.
This is comment #1 requesting a playrhrough of the scenarios! They are very interesting and would love to see you break them 😁
I especially like the Nirvana Scenario, especially going Shaivism, or Indo Hinduism. Very fun indeed.
I love poland scenario
Damn, thats great idea actually. Those are better than what it seems
If he doesn’t do it I’m pulling up with a hoard of minute-men
Crabs are truly the best Religion.
For me I have a soft spot for the Elephant Religion.

Name something that technically isn’t illegal but feels illegal: “Giving up a Heroic Age Monumentality Dedication”
Usually true, but big of aggressive crab Bible bashing is the better option here...
Oh I’m looking forward to this. Janassaies are my favorite unique unit in the game and real life.
Yay! The first warrior gets to live!
Saw Chine cities after the CS reveal and immediately thought corsairs, half a second later, you preview the inevitable 😂
Rip Ursa putting in the diplo card that gives +2 influence points instead of the 2 envoys for the first envoy card
Yeah, the irony of him spending money to get less envoys made me lol. Ursa entertains even when he doesn't mean to 😂
Why is that one better than the +2 points?
calling for qin shihuang unifier zombie game!!!

The playstyle of the Ottomans is just so good, you can't help but dominate, the temptation is too great.
You didn't buy the spices in the second city I'm almost crying
Swear if I got this start and tried this play through I would have had two barb camps spawn that would have guaranteed death to my only warrior
5:25, The great barrier reef, I wonder where you’re gonna settle next? Istanbul, not Constantinople, that was a good song back in the day.
Excllent idea for a game, shout out to ur brilliant discord community 👍
they really are the best!

Does anyone else feel like every civ should have it's own unique governor? Or at least more than just the Ottomans!

always very useful!
You have the perfect spot for oxford in your capital
But the crisps...
still no crisps = (
Remember the days when Ursa would never built scouts and explore with missionaries.
I miss the Ursa that disliked scouts 😭
Hey Ursa i was hoping you would try the "Got Lakes" Map Script. It makes really interesting maps and you have tons of customizability options.
He played on that map with the Aztecs some time ago!
bursa ryan sent me oml
There was a +4 holy site on a river one tile to the right.
Interesting map, having 2 clumps of land with 3 civs each gotten kinda boring to me so i've been experimenting with fractal
I'll be an early crab this series
I have a feeling I will too 👀
We're all crabs in the bucket of life
@@UrsaRyan A comment as profound as the bucket you refer to
i miss the days when you can just use this guy's unique boat to costal raid a barb clan for infinite gold
ah they were simple and rewarding times
i know i'm pretty late on this, but +21 great zimbabwe potential
Fun game!

Who needs settlers anyways when other people's cities are going to be used for your Jannisary army anyways. Just Ottoman Things.
Algorithm 89
Too bad that Konya settle was so far away from the Great Barrier Reef that you didn't get the tiles or the Era points
How’s it possible for a missionary to have 7 charges?
Daily comment.
Ik theres already a 2nd episode but the fact you didnt buy the banana tile in your 2nd city and let yerevan take it hurts my soul
I can’t find this shadow of a god Verizon of the Suliman. What mod is this?
Civilizations Expanded - come to discord, I keep all the save files and ALL the mods I use there for you

Was gonna say same until read your comment
Ursa are you watching The Last of Us? This is an important question lol
No! I hear it's good though
But why did Constantinople get the works?
THAT'S NOBODIES BUSINESS TRAVIS

I actually quite like them - they tend to be really balanced maps!

Keep at it! The start is always a bit of a practice on Deity
why NONE of you civtubers EVER gets the CANALS ON HILLS MOD is beyond me . .
It makes canals not better, just actually USEABLE.
This is a, rather specific demand. Either way Ursa plays how he wants to, and that's the important part!
Early bears, assemble!!
