Call the midwife is so good. I’ve been binging Kath and Kim, another good one is Derry Girls if you need a laugh. Winters are always hard and this winter is so much worse. Hang in their, spring is around the corner!!!!
I am so sorry to hear about your lovely Grandma. I am sure she is with you in spirit urging you on and I believe she would really appreciate and love what you are planning to do with in honouring her in your new home. You are not alone and it is totally fine to show emotion when you prepare your videos, especially around such sensitive areas you are experiencing. I have a similar situation where it is just me and my cat Georgie, who rules the house lol, and its not until you do not have anyone around you that you feel the loneliness, especially at Christmas and in a totally different country. The UK is different to the US for their traditions. A pattern parade would be cool to see, as this is one thing I have collected over the years, I haven't been able to stitch them though lol. It is always facinating to see the patterns other people choose 🙂. I'm bit of a magpie in that I collect magical sparkle and bright colour patterns lol.
Hi Bianca, your comment snuck in there and I missed it I'm really sorry. RUclips doesn't always notify me of comments so every so often I have to go in and check I haven't missed anyone. So so sorry xx❤
What a beautiful story about your nan🥰 And your immigration hardship is a disgrace for this country. You are so right about being legal vs. illegal. Your video is beautiful. So happy you showed up in my RUclips feed. Just subscribed. Best of luck! (Your stitching it gorgeous!)
Hi Janice, thank you so much for your kind words. I love all the projects I'm stitching on. I'm hoping to have some happy news soon. Maybe not on my end of month update, but I should definitely know by the February update xx
Hi Holly. I came across your channel because RUclips suggested it. I'm brand new to cross stitch and love watching fellow stitchers! You work is incredibly beautiful!! Also your story had me memorized. My grandma was my most favorite person. We lost her to cancer 2 years ago. It was the hardest time for me and not a day goes by that I don't think about her. She taught me how to single crochet so when she passed I watched every RUclips video I could to teach myself how to do more stitches. I made her a blanket to keep her hands warm. It stayed with her in the casket. Your story of your Nan was just so touching. Also keep going with your citizenship. I'm so sorry it is so difficult but it is because of people like you that are doing it the right way that is so amazing. There are so many people flooding the borders but just keep your head up and keep pushing and know you are doing it the right way! Also the artic blast was awful. I know you feel alone but just know you aren't. I live in central Illinois and we got hit too. The feels like was -45 with the wind chill. I live in an old house and we have drafts. Our house got so cold and our pipes froze. Luckily they didn't burst but it was absolutely miserable. I'm so glad it's warmer now and hope that doesn't happen again this winter. Anyways I just wanted to stop and say hi. I don't normally post on videos but I felt compelled to comment. I would love to hear more about your experiences and look forward to seeing more of your work.
Hi Steffanie, wow! You bought a tear to my eye just reading about your grandma. They are such precious people to us. My 'nan' as I called her was always there for me through thick and thin and me her. I loved her with all my heart. A massive part of me died when she passed away but she taught me so much, and one of those things was 'never give up'! I will always hold her in my heart and she will always be with me. Stitching keeps me sane when everything around me is falling apart but hopefully my next monthly stitchy video will be much better news. Thank you for dropping me a comment it means alot. Take care and hope you had a nice Christmas and New year! Xx
I just discovered you as I’ve been watching every WIP parade I can find. So sorry you are having a rough time. Wish I lived closer but all I can offer is a virtual hug. I’m about to start my first HAED and I love seeing your projects.
I’m starting Lesley’s Cats at Halloween by Lesley Anne Ivory. I’m doing the mini as my first HAED. First time using Pattern Keeper and first time using scroll frame. I’ve been watching flosstube to learn different methods of stitching full coverage. This is just the beginning. Thanks for the inspiration.
@Cheryl Bradford Hi Cheryl pattern keeper is a game changer, and if you have any questions about it or need any help, don't hesitate to ask. I have a video on my channel about parking and how to use pattern keeper. Good luck xx
Hi Holly, your YT video popped up in my recommended feed, so this is my first time watching your videos. Loved your wip, parade! I am sorry you’re having a hard time with immigration. Hang in there, it will get better. I love in one of the border states (AZ), which is definitely having issues with illegals. The world is crazy right now. Loved your wips! I am a fan of HAEDS also, but have a couple of smaller projects going too. Would absolutely love to see a pattern parade and I look forward to more of your vids. I am now subbed to your channel! 😊
Hi lovely, thank you so much. The pattern parade is now up 😀. I completely understand the illegal side of the immigration system. It just when you are investing and or have invested a lot of money, and are doing everything above board and legally, and they can see that, they could cut ilus a little bit of a break 😂. Anyway. It will all be over soon and I will have their answer soon no doubt. Fingers crossed xx
Loved your video! So sorry about the immigration difficulties . Hang in there you are a wonderful talented stitcher which makes for good stress reduction. See you next time. I will also take your advice about call the midwife!
Love the WIP parade and would love to see a pattern parade. If you ever want to have the 25 ct piece stitched up, send it my way - I would be happy to stitch it for you and send it back to you so you can show the difference once you have yours finished. 25 ct one over one is my sweet spot and I use CXC floss as well.
Hi Holly! I have just come across your channel and I love your work! I'm in a similar situation (away from home, frineds and family) and cross stitching is really helping! Thank you for sharing with us! I would love to see your charts!
Hi lovely, I'm so sorry for replying to you late, we had a Tornado warning and I literally had to gather my cats up and go to a place of safety. Scary stuff! Really glad you like the channel. I definitely have plans in the next few days of putting together a pattern parade 😀
Hi lovely, so sorry I missed your comment. RUclips doesn't always notify me of a comment and I fear that's what happened in your case I'm just going through to check I have gone back to everyone who has commented. Looks like I missed a few. So sorry. Xx❤
Love your video! I hear a lot of stitchers say WIP go. May I asked what that means? All your projects look gorgeous. And even when you say not a lot of progress; every stitch you make is one less till your finished
Thank you! WIPGO is like a bingo board. You mark 25 squares, and put your goals in each. Everyone month 2 numbers are called (Join the WIPGO Facebook group) then for those two squares your goals or pattern you put down in those two numbers is what you work on until your goal is complete x
Hi Carol, it's gorgeous isn't it. 917 is the colour. I have it on my WIPGO to do 500 stitches on it this month, but I hope I can smash out at least 1000 and get the whole band completed 😘
Just found you through you WIP parade. You have a like and a subscribe from me. Now to go back and watch some of your regular updates. I am so sorry you are dealing with the cold. We have actually had an unseasonably warm winter here in Maine and have just now started to get snow. I hope it warms up for you soon!
Happy New Year! I've been MIA in the watching FlossTube department, but I'm back and happy to have a good, long video to watch. You are a rock star for having so many large projects! I definitely could not handle that LOL Thank you for sharing your personal story about your grandmother. The planting of a tree, spreading her ashes and creating a memorial wall sounds lovely. YES, to a pattern parade.
Hi 1884 stitchery ,HAPPY NEW YEAR! lovely to hear from you. I often wonder whether my videos are too long and that's why people don't like watching them. It's hard to get a balance sometimes, or know what that balance is. Glad you like the video and I'll defo do a pattern parade then as a few people have said yes to that. 😀
Happy New Year, Holly. Lovely projects. I look forward to your continuing progress on all you WIPs. I am sorry about your immigration issues, and I was one of those who worried about you when I watched your last video. I hope your immigration issues will be resolved soon. Please bear in mind that many of us in the United States share an immigrant journey. Your resources (including your ability to speak and read English) and privileges which I will not explore here are beyond what many of us could have imagined when we came to the U.S. You "Nan" would have been very proud of your accomplishments at this stage of your American journey, and the wonderful future which awaits you. Be well and stay safe and healthy in these continuing challenging times.
Hi Jasmine, thank you for your kind words and it's nice to know people have gone through the same experiences and come out the other side. It will all be worth it in the end I'm sure, it's just sometimes difficult to see the light xx
Hi I just stumbled across you really loved your videos and energy it must be really hard being out their in America on your own. I am also a full coverage stitcher. Happy New year😊
Hi Lucy Lou, thanks for commenting, I always love meeting fellow stitchers. It is hard but it's amazing at the same time. I have my horse with me, and that is the best thing ever. Happy New Year to you too 🤩
I have just come across you and thoroughly enjoyed 😉 you have some beautiful WIPs 😍 Call the Midwife is the best show ever and yes, very emotional 😢 You are very brave to move country, is there a reason? Best wishes from UK 🇬🇧
Hi Sallyann Thank-you so much. I thought I was going to lose them yesterday, we had a tornado rip through Covington and thankfully it missed me, but we had to evacuate and go under ground. It was so scary!! I love call the midwife. I'm on season 10. There are only 11 seasons, so I'm really sad it is all coming to an end soon, but I have been told that Yellowstone is good! So that will be my next tv fix whilst stitching 😀
@Sallyann Cole yes it was pretty much on my own. I went to a friend's friend's the day, which was nice, but it's never the same when it's mot your family is it 😪 Ordinarily we don't get tornados, so I don't know what caused this one. We had the coldest winter on record for 40 years too. I think I'm just a bad omen!! Xx
@Holly the Cross Stitch Addict to be honest, I think the world over is having bizarre weather 😳 xx No, it's not the same without family 😢 Take care and hope to chat to you soon Will look out for pattern parade sounds great 👍 x
Really enjoyed watching your video and would love to see what patterns you have. I know I only work 1 piece at a time but I can always dream, so watching your video inspires me to get some stitching done rather than crochet. Yes many a time my brother in law would tell me about the USA and being legal is really difficult. My sister goes to the USA every year and lives there for 1 month as she has daughters there. While there they renew their library card because they don't accept renewal over the phone, crazy. The pieces of work you are not going to continue with you could make them into a tiny cushion and strawberry pin cushion that way you will get use out of it. I do like the names of fabric, threads and charts; watched videos that don't have that information and it's annoying. lol. I hope your horse has settled in well and got into a routine as she is a blessing.
Hi Daisy Rea 😘, they certainly don't make it an Easy process that's for sure, but I'm sure I'll get there eventually. It's just going to take a lot of time and dedication to the process 😀 Hal has settled in great, it's a bit wet here at the mo, so she is a bit damp (even though they have field shelters, they don't use them) any way I guess she prefers being in the rain. Hope you are well, and I'm glad you're getting some stitching in 🥰
Its amazing to look at all your wips and ufos. I cannot imagine the amount of money that is spent on all the frames, floss, fabric and all other accessories. I wonder if people ever figure it out.
OK.....this is when I had a job! 🤣🤣🤣 not so much now, but I don't even want to look at how much it's cost. I hate removing qsnaps and frames and putting stuff back on so I just buy another frame or qsnap. Probably not ideal!! 🫣
So good to see you again ❤️. Love all your wips and new projects ❤️. You have made great progress this year. I can’t wait to see what you do in 2023. I hope you have a great couple of weeks, stay safe and happy stitching ❤️
@@hollythecrossstitchaddict83 Thank you sweetheart, you are just a doll ❤️. I’m currently working on Eagle and flag (Charting Creations), A birth sampler, Building Memories HAED, Jackpot HAED, Autism HAED, In Father’s Hands HAED, Alternative Reality HAED, Beloved HAED, God Shed his Grace (Artecy) and Fishing Hut (Artecy). My plans are no new starts this year and getting some of these finished. I have so many patterns to stitch and would love to start some in 2024. You need to do a pattern parade❤️. And thanks for asking what I’m working on, it is appreciated ❤️
@CJstitches oh wow quite a bit then. I LOVE Allternative Reality, and my delightful waltz is an Artecy pattern. Do you have a RUclips channel? I would love to join you on your stitching journey 😀 alternatively, see if you can find me on fb x facebook.com/holly.vernon.14?mibextid=ZbWKwL
Hi Holly! I just found your channel last week and have binge watched you from the beginning. Your projects are gorgeous and I love how you put a lot of thought in what you pick. I love listening about your US journey and have subbed to your equine channel. Will you be uploading vlogs? Anyway, I subbed and can’t wait for more- Tina
Hi Tina, thank you for your comment. When things get going (probably Feb time) I absolutely will be vlogging. I love vlogging. It will be a great way to get my business out to the world xx
Happy New Year my dear! So sorry to hear you’re having a bit of a tough time sorting out all your legalities. You know what though, you’ve obviously got enough grit to get you through it, you wouldn’t be there on your own in the first place if you didn’t! Most wouldn’t even attempt something like that so high five you. I love seeing all your WIPs - I’ve got a lot of the same or similar patterns myself- particularly all the book ones. Just started The Grand Library as my new year, new start so we’ll see how many decades that little gem takes me. And I’d love to see a pattern parade as enabling as that might be! I’ve put myself on a no purchase pattern ban this year though as I’ve got so many and every time there’s a HAED sale I can’t resist and there’s no way at 42 years old that I’ve got enough time left to finish all the patterns I own unless I give up work and caring for my kids (they’re autistic and ADHD so that’s never gonna happen just in case you think I was being serious there! 🤪) looking forward to your next update and big hugs from dismal rainy grey GB xx
Hi Amanda. It's raining here too! We had awful rain and thunder last night but now it's beautifully sunny. Love all HAED patterns, they are keeping me sane! I will get through this immigration stuff. I've flown my horse here and I don't have the money to fly her back, so I'll have to make it work. Hey ho, we will see! We will know by the next update video anyway 😀. Hope you had a nice Christmas and New Year xx
Hi Holly! Happy New Year😊🎉 I really enjoyed watching you talk about your WIPs. I’m a new subscriber and love, love, love the pink😊🌺🌸🌺🇮🇪☘️🇺🇸🍎❤️🧵😊🎊🎊☔️Peggy from rainy cold Southern California. (Call the Midwife is one of my favorites)I’ll just start the series over if I need a fix of English history
Omg I loved reading your comment Peggy. It is such an amazing show I love it!! Is it really that cold in California? It's getting down a bit here in Georgia too. Just checked the weather and I just went out to put some blankets on the horses. It's 9pm but hey, you do what you gotta do. Love having them on my property. I can always check on them in a second. Thank you for subscribing. Means alot. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! 😘😘😘
Lovely seeing you again. So agree about gridded fabric, I usually do it myself but the HAED I am doing is so big I am using pre gridded Lugana for the first time. Just worried about having to wash it when finished to remove the lines behind the pale threads! Never had to wash a piece before!
Thank you Pat, lovely to hear from you!. As for the gridlines, they will definitely come out I promise. I had to scrub something off lightly my Grace Face project, and the gridlines came out no problem xx
Sorry to hear your having such a hard time getting legal. Where are you at? We travel full time in our RV maybe we could meet up one day! Lovely wip parade, I would love to see a 6 month update.
I'm in Georgia. I love living in it full time. It's just this artic blast was very testy this past few weeks!! Would love to meet. Are you in Georgia? X
Well I've been watching flosstube for a couple of years and I've never come across you!! Loved this video and have subbed and will now be going back over your older videos. I'm from Evesham so where you were talking about Cheltenham & Gloucester you're probably from somewhere local originally. But sounds like you have an exciting time ahead in the states. I don't know if you have access to BBC iPlayer but I've just finished Happy Valley, I binged 3 series.
Hi Debbie, such a small world! I worked in the Frankie and Bennys at Evesham for years! We probably met and never even realised it. 😀 I lived in Maisemore whilst I did my degree at Hartpury. I am from Fareham in Hampshire originally x
@@hollythecrossstitchaddict83 omg yes we probably did!!! Really is a small world, I'm sat watching your pattern parade and the series by Silver Creek Do Ra Mi is now in my Patchwork Rabbit basket!!
Hi holly love watching your videos and progress on your wips they all look amazing but are you still stitching on a stitch in time by Aimee Stewart would love to see your progress. I started it over 12 months ago then went into a pile with other wips 😂 not finished
Yes, only ornament one though. I will tall more about the other one when I do my pattern parade. Just waiting for something to come in from 123 stitch, and then I'll do it xx
Hi. I'm new to your channel. You appeared on my feed. Stitched a little on krozwyrd whilst watching. Very pretty parade. Little blue seahorse on the peacock piece is lovely. Do you remember where it's from? All the best with dealing with immigration and stray acquaintances
I'm pretty new to cross stitch/flosstube, and I also mostly do full coverage so this was a fun video to see. I think you made a lot of progress over the year compared to a lot of other people I've watched. You're also the only person I've heard talk about CXC threads which I also use. Have you ever had issues with colour matching when a pattern calls for DMC and you use CXC?
Hi Seth, thank you for your comment. I haven't actually. But I buy from one room on Ali Express, and they have always been really good. They buy from the CXC factory. Others don't buy the real cxc so that's the only thing to worry about. It feel like you've achieved nothing until you do a wip parade and then you realise that actually you have achieved quite a bit 😀
I have been watching your channel since you were still in England, your full coverage is AMAZING! I have to laugh, my sister-in-law gave me a little Riolis kit last year ( 5x5) I thought oh this is going to be fun and easy, so a year later still working on that little thing. It is on my WIPGO to work on every 2-3 days for 2023. How do you find those CXC threads and what is so different about them? Also are they close to DMC colors? My favorite of yours is that little Owl with the leaf stuck to his head, I chuckle everytime you show him. Happy Stitching and look forward to the pattern parade and your progress.
Could you please tell me the name of your frames, because they look much sturdier than the ones I have? Yes I would love to see all your patterns, if you have time.
@@hollythecrossstitchaddict83 Thank you for getting back to me Holly, I think it is the Omanik I'm looking for, I am hoping they will sort my tension problems out. Thank you again.
Amazing work! No worries over the years we are all real people and need a good cry once in a while. Sending good ways on your imigration process I know it’s brutal.
I just found your Flosstube. Your stitching is amazing. I am confused though why you are here in the U.S. By the way you talk, all of your friends, family and everything you love to do is in the UK. You should like you are miserable here. Maybe the U.S isn't where you need to be. Just a thought; something to think about. Good luck with everything.
Hi Tammy. Yes in the US, I love it here, and have made loads of friends, but it was my first Christmas without my family and I found that really hard that's all. Christmas will always be a difficult time for me, purely because everything I love doing with my friends and family over there, I can't do here xx
I honestly don't know how to, as I had to do it on the threadbare app, and it's a nightmare to work with. It doesn't work the same way as pattern keeper unfortunately. Really wish it did, but it isn't in a file per se that can be shared. So sorry 😔
A chart parade would be great! Love to see what everyone is working on. Even people born in America want to go down and come through the border illegally so they can have all the benefits the illegals are getting.
Hi. Are you on insta? I saw an insta name come up when I found you on flosstube but I’ve tried searching it and nothing comes up! Are you able to post a link at all? Thank you x

First time watching - you have some stunning WIPs. Bravo for being so brave and starting a new life in a new country - you're doing great x
Hi lovely, thank you so much. Hopefully have an update on everything soon! Xx
Great progress on all your projects! Hang in there, Holly. You have lots of friends on line, and you’ll make lots more friends in person in time.
Thanks Anna. It means a lot. I love my stitching community x
Happy New Year to you too 🤩
I have just come across you and thoroughly enjoyed 😉 you have some beautiful WIPs 😍
Call the Midwife is the best show ever and yes, very emotional 😢
You are very brave to move country, is there a reason?
Best wishes from UK 🇬🇧
Hi Sallyann Thank-you so much. I thought I was going to lose them yesterday, we had a tornado rip through Covington and thankfully it missed me, but we had to evacuate and go under ground. It was so scary!! I love call the midwife. I'm on season 10. There are only 11 seasons, so I'm really sad it is all coming to an end soon, but I have been told that Yellowstone is good! So that will be my next tv fix whilst stitching 😀
@@hollythecrossstitchaddict83 a tornado 🌪 😳 how scarey. Did you spend Christmas 🎄 on your own?
@Sallyann Cole yes it was pretty much on my own. I went to a friend's friend's the day, which was nice, but it's never the same when it's mot your family is it 😪
Ordinarily we don't get tornados, so I don't know what caused this one. We had the coldest winter on record for 40 years too. I think I'm just a bad omen!! Xx
@Holly the Cross Stitch Addict to be honest, I think the world over is having bizarre weather 😳 xx
No, it's not the same without family 😢
Take care and hope to chat to you soon
Will look out for pattern parade sounds great 👍 x
It's just going to take a lot of time and dedication to the process 😀
Hal has settled in great, it's a bit wet here at the mo, so she is a bit damp (even though they have field shelters, they don't use them) any way I guess she prefers being in the rain.
Thank you my lovely, always comment and always stuck by me ❤ love reading comments from you. Have a great start to the year. What are you working on?
I would love to join you on your stitching journey 😀 alternatively, see if you can find me on fb x

Would love to see your pattern parade 😍
I will do one then 😀
@@hollythecrossstitchaddict83 I have family in the near Atlanta area. I was there for Oct-Dec 17. We came home to Indiana for a bit but will be back.
@@hollythecrossstitchaddict83 yes it’s the ornament one I am on about would love to see your progress ❤️
Hi. I'm new to your channel. You appeared on my feed. Stitched a little on krozwyrd whilst watching. Very pretty parade. Little blue seahorse on the peacock piece is lovely. Do you remember where it's from? All the best with dealing with immigration and stray acquaintances
Hi lovely yes! I believe it was front Denkai Designs on Etsy. It is gorgeous isn't it xx
I have been watching your channel since you were still in England, your full coverage
is AMAZING! I have to laugh, my sister-in-law gave me a little Riolis kit last year ( 5x5)
I thought oh this is going to be fun and easy, so a year later still working on that little
thing. It is on my WIPGO to work on every 2-3 days for 2023. How do you find those
CXC threads and what is so different about them? Also are they close to DMC colors?
My favorite of yours is that little Owl with the leaf stuck to his head, I chuckle everytime
you show him. Happy Stitching and look forward to the pattern parade and your progress.
Aww thanks hun. He' called stormy from heaven and earth designs. He is very cute xx
Could you please tell me the name of your frames, because they look much sturdier than the ones I have?
Yes I would love to see all your patterns, if you have time.
Which ones? I use q snaps, Elbesee clip frames from Amazon and Omanik frames. They are the big ones xx
@@hollythecrossstitchaddict83 Thank you for getting back to me Holly, I think it is the Omanik I'm looking for, I am hoping they will sort my tension problems out. Thank you again.
@patricia treslove you're very welcome. Yes the Omanik frames are heavy duty. Expensive but worth it in my opinion xx
@@hollythecrossstitchaddict83 My Omanik arrived, I am very happy with it, thank you for your help.(((((HUG)))))
Just do a pattern parade!
Will do 😀 waiting for a pattern to arrive and I'll do one xx
Amazing work! No worries over the years we are all real people and need a good cry once in a while. Sending good ways on your imigration process I know it’s brutal.
Thank you Barbara. Here's hoping 🩷
Hey - where in Georgia are you based? I’m Aussie and just moved to Warner Robins 😊
Hi, I'm in Covington. It's about an hour and a half north from you I think. 😀
@@hollythecrossstitchaddict83 - neighbours! 😂
@Pennington Terrace ha ha from an American perspective. From a English perspective you live miles away 🤣🤣🤣🤣 distances are sp much bigger here xx
@@hollythecrossstitchaddict83 - yes - my brain still thinks in kms
I just found your Flosstube. Your stitching is amazing. I am confused though why you are here in the U.S. By the way you talk, all of your friends, family and everything you love to do is in the UK. You should like you are miserable here. Maybe the U.S isn't where you need to be. Just a thought; something to think about. Good luck with everything.
Hi Tammy. Yes in the US, I love it here, and have made loads of friends, but it was my first Christmas without my family and I found that really hard that's all. Christmas will always be a difficult time for me, purely because everything I love doing with my friends and family over there, I can't do here xx
are you able to share you peony pattern?
I honestly don't know how to, as I had to do it on the threadbare app, and it's a nightmare to work with. It doesn't work the same way as pattern keeper unfortunately. Really wish it did, but it isn't in a file per se that can be shared. So sorry 😔
A chart parade would be great! Love to see what everyone is working on. Even people born in America want to go down and come through the border illegally so they can have all the benefits the illegals are getting.
Crazy isn't it.
I am just waiting for one more pattern and then I will do a pattern parade 😀
You should keep a glass of water close by when filming to stop the throat retching
I usually have a cuppa tea with me. I don't retch that much though do I? 😬
Hi. Are you on insta? I saw an insta name come up when I found you on flosstube but I’ve tried searching it and nothing comes up! Are you able to post a link at all? Thank you x
Hi, sure, there isn't much interesting on there at the moment though 🤣 hollyvernon1983
