Mitsubishi is generally underrated. My 2003 (first generation) gave me 225,000 trouble-free miles. Its reliability sold me on the brand. I'm now driving a 2015 Outlander Sport, and I love it overall. My budget just would not allow me to get the bigger model which I wanted. Like it was said in this review, it not the absolute best choice, but where dependability is foremost, you can't go wrong with a Mitsubishi.
Got a 2014 it's Excellent!! Often the reviews you see for this car are sooo bad and heavily bias toward Volvo, vw, BMW, merc which COST WAY more! FINALLY THANK YOU FOR AN HONEST REVIEW!
Good honest review, we enjoy watching your reviews :)
Grand Blanc Mitsubishi ....
One of the most honest reviews of this SUV I have seen! Thank you for pointing out the positives and negatives and all the features it comes with. Mitsubishi's are reliable vehicles and come with an awsome warranty, we love both of ours (2015 Mirage ES, 2016 Outlander Sport GT AWD). Plus they offer nice rebates on a regular basis (I believe $3,000.00 on the Outlander right now) so you get alot for your money.
Thanks again for this awsome review!!! I subscribed! Keep the videos coming!!!
Sorry for the delayed reply, K McKenzie, but thank you very much for your support!
I'm thinking of getting one of these as my next vehicle. I love the features and extra room. But how's the ride handling and reliability rating and safety ratings on this vehicle?
Love my Lancer SE 2017 and EVO 2015!! I got both! Huge Fan.
+Masta P crash test scores r excellent. if u don't believe me, check out iihs for yourself.
Came across many review. This is by far the best I've come upon on Mitsubishi Outlander GT.
Thank you very much, Kaw Htoo! We appreciate your comments. Thanks for watching and if you get a chance, check out some of our other reviews!
I really like Mitsubishi. You get a great value for your car buying dollar.
I think people are missing out when they head straight to a Honda, Toyota or Subaru (Bleh) dealer without
trying the Mitsu.
There loss I guess....It happens to people in a lemming train.
Thank you for reving it and exhaust sound. NOBODY DOES THAT! As if it doesn't mater.
Excellent Review. I still have a 2007 Outlander LS with the same engine and it is still running very well. I am looking at the 2017 model and your review is very helpful. Thanks. :-)
We're happy that you enjoyed the review, Emery Rudolph. Thank you for your comments and for watching, too!
Hi Emery, do you still have your 07 and what's the current miles?
I have 2014 gt v6.Is one of the best small suv.Really great in deep snow, ice, rain or daily use.
Thank you for your comments and for watching, Jose Jimemez!
We have a 09 Outlander which my father drives and serves as our main family car. Pretty good, and since the car now has 126000 on the clock he decided to trade it in for a 2018 Outlander.
Great Review Chris. I am surprised by your postive review. Most of the recent Mitsu vehicle reviews have pretty much slammed them. Maybe this is the one vehicle they offer here that gets it right.
We have a 2011 with the same engine, transmission and AWD. It’s been really reliable except on one occasion, where the brakes failed gradually because of a brake fluid leak. Other than that, we’ve been really pleased with it
i have a 2007 mitsubishi endeavor and i just got my wife the same exact one as the video, the 2016 outlander gt, great vehicle for the price....
Thank you for a fair and honest review. I ended up buying 2017 Outlander GT after spending a lot of time and I found many "expert" reviews were critical. They lacked one key difference which you stated "what's important for you" and "take good with the bad". I wanted safety; reliability and seating choice which this vehicle offered at a very competitive price.
Cube D-G We're happy we could help, Cube D-G. Thanks for watching!
A good chunk of reviewers are used to driving sports cars for a living.
I think I want this car now. Thanks for reviewing this! I'm subscribing!
We're happy you enjoyed the video, TKTheHedgehog. And thank you very much for your support!
Did you buy an Outlander, Hedgehog?
@@MaximumDIYGarage not yet. I ended up buying a 2011 Ralliart sportback. I love it.
Needed a second car for Travel baseball with 2 kids and 2 dogs. Traded in our Jetta for this exact truck, year, model and color. I have had it 2 weeks and put 1200 miles on it. Rides great, decent on gas, plenty of pick up, comfortable and roomy. Picked it up for 19,995 with 60k miles. The only thingsbI wish were better were the on center steering, which is numb and lose and the button feel on the LDW and Proximity button. Other then that it's a great truck so far and ours even came with rear seat DVD player, now I wish I kept my DVD collection. Lol.
Thanks for sharing, Thomas MacGruber. And NEVER throw out the DVD collection! 😂 Thanks for watching!
Bought ours around the same time as you! It was $21000 with 58k miles. Comes with a 6 year unlimited mile powertrain warranty for $3000. So in total $24,000.
you remind me of Dave erickson you and him are good reviews very well spoken and pick out key features that most of us would know thanks again aura academic
Mine typically averages 26 mpg on a tank when mostly in eco mode running Shell/BP gas (premium recommended)
& Lucas Fuel Treatment but has hit just over 28 mpg on a tank. This higher mileage occurs when running around 40 to 50 mph. On interstate running 70mph mileage drops to around 25 mpg in eco mode. Normal mode is more spunky but mileage typically falls to 24 mpg or less.
Great review!!! I absolutely love how you went through all the features of the Outlander. I love Mitsubishi and I had no idea some of the features this year had, thank you! It would be great if you could review the Mirage GT or Mirage G4 SE. I have owned a 2015 Mirage ES and now own a 2017 Mirage G4 SE and love it. Your reviews are very upbeat, honest and you go over everything in detail. Keep up the great reviews!!!
We appreciate the kind words, K McKenzie. Thanks for watching!
I have a mostly highway driven 2015 GT Outlander and I will say that when I turn off ECO mode, I get more response and jump from sitting still. My MPG isn't as good - but really only by 1-2 MPG. Also for passing - I've taken to using the paddle shifters to downshift and get good torque boost...
VERY nice review though - I think all the observations are pretty much spot on!
Do you still have your outlander gt?
My parents own a silver 2011 LS that was handed down from my Grandfather when he passed in 2015 (it was an ex fleet vehicle brought in late 2014 I think), so far we haven't had any major issues.
Thanks for sharing, Kyle Soler. We appreciate you watching, too!
very in depth review, you just earn a subscriber!
We apologize for the delayed reply, Elliot Reindeer. Thank you for your support!
they need some chrome dual exhaust tips to add a sport look especially on the gt
I bought a 2016 Outlander a couple of months ago and I love it! I wished I saw your review before, so I could have spent the extra money for the GT model. Solid review too.
Thank you for the kind words, Tokidoki302. And thanks for watching, too!
My wife has a 2016 Outlander that we bought new and when we purchased it I didn't care for it at first but 5 years later this car has done everything and more we have asked for. 60,000 miles with zero issues only routine maintenance! I'll definitely keep my eyes on Mitsubishi going forward!
Thanks for sharing and for watching, Charles Doss Jr!
Thanks for the indept review!
Going to get the 2017 GT + Touring Package!
We're happy we could help, md abu saiful. Feel free to comment back on here if and when you get one. We'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for watching!
This gives you the most car for your money good fuel economy and great features.
Love my Mitsubishi Outlander 2016!!!!
Thanks for the review .. why does everybody go over every detail of the car but skip out on power ? Is it laggy is it powerful? Enough acceleration. Is there enough power on hold . While passing 18 wheelers on highways can you go from 70 to 80 easily or do you have to nearly red line it?
it's v6, it's not crappy variable transmission, roomy and speakers goes boom boom pow .
Love your synopsis, jd5179, but how do those speakers go? LOL Thanks for watching!
I have a 2008 and I love those 3 things too
so looking for something 3rd row that can fit 3 car seats. Trying to keep things in the upper 20s low 30s as far as price what's everyone recommend. Ik mini van but trying to avoid cuz we lie the outdoors and not looking like weirdos at our early 20s
I totally agree with you
Great review 👍
Thanks for watching, John Zeimet!
I have one, only one thing that I didn't agree with you was the Bluetooth connection. I have a samsung phone and it only took me 1 minute to set it all up, never used the control activation. The third row seats could be comfortable for smaller people, but if you are on the average height it may start getting a bit cramped out.
Thanks for the review!
No problem, emaPug. We'll have to give you a call to help us set the Bluetooth up next time. LOL Thank you for your comments and for watching!
Great review !!! You have a new subscriber..
Thank you, mushroomcloud1. We appreciate your support!
I own 2013 outlander 2.2 di-d. Great car!
How easy are to find OEM parts of Mitsubishi in case of any repairs? Does Mitsubishi have large enough market for aftermarket parts?
You earned a subscriber here too! I enjoyed the review. It really showed what made this Mitsubishi worth it. I don't need the 7 seats personally and I am heavily comparing this and the Subaru XV. Maybe please do a review on the Subaru XV Crosstrek. Regards. :)
Thank you very much, Jon Eds! We truly appreciate your support. We've just recently begun to receive Subarus for testing so hopefully we'll be able to do a Crosstrek soon. Thanks, again!
a comparison between this and the XV on sand dunes would be awesome :D There are quite a lot of expats like me in the middle east who look for a cheaper alternative than a land cruiser/patrol. There are heaps of reviews over here but all are in Arabic. Having it in English certainly does help! Cheers mate, keep up the good work.
Thank you, Jon Eds!
had a 2.4L AWC since 2009
my new car is same but 2019 :)
everything said
You can now find one for around 20k with under 30k miles.
I'm 6'1 and had a hell of a hard time sitting in the drivers seat with the seat all the way back. My knees hit the dash. I wanted to buy but just couldn't do it.
In Mitsubishi I trust ... I owned a 2008 Montero that I will never trade for anything and I am thinking of getting an Outlander and then trade it when they release the next version that should be tons better..
If only they bring back the Evo.
you do awesome reviews plus I love your basketball goal my daughter plays she'd love to have that
Thank you very much, Ryan Belden. We appreciate the kind words. That's not our basketball goal, but the owner of the property where we record our reviews used to play a lot. It was repainted for him as a gift about a year ago. Thank you for your comments and for watching!
Anyone around 6ft3? I fit in my lancer, cant imagine not fitting in here
can you do a review on a dodge journey crossroad and tell me your outlook on it is it better price wise over a Mitsubishi oulander
Is this the same 3.0L V6 Mitsubishi has been using since the early 90's in the 3000GT and Chrysler vehicles?
We honestly can't say, palebeachbum. Sorry we couldn't help, but thanks for watching!
palebeachbum No, this is Mitsubishi's 6B31 3.0L V6 which is an all-aluminum motor with MIVEC and variable-length intake manifold. It was an all-new design that was first introduced in 2006 and was updated in 2010 with a higher compression ratio along with a few other upgrades. The 6G72 3.0L V6 was from the old Mitsubishi Cyclone V6 family which was an iron-block w/ aluminum heads, and it was used in some Chrysler models as well and it came in various displacements up to 3.8L.
I miss the 3.8l v6 mitsubishi had. It was a beast.
Zachary Valenzuela I agree. From a performance standpoint they would have been better off just updating the 6G75 3.8L MIVEC V6 that was in the 4th gen Eclipse GT. But given this new V6 has only been used in crossover SUVs I think Mitsubishi was looking for greater fuel economy, lower emissions, and a more modern design over the previous V6 family rather than raw power & performance. If that was their reasoning then they did achieve their objective, but at the expense of the above-average performance that the previous 3.8L MIVEC V6 had.
There seem to be a lot of empty spaces for missing options on the dashboard and steering wheel. Is this the highest trim level?
Yup. That's all she got, which was quite a bit for a vehicle of this stature. But we're not sure what those extra spots were for, either. Maybe they were leftovers from the EVO parts bin?
J High those are for other options that are on the PHEV outlander and not the conventional gas outlander. also, one of the blanks is for the auto stop and go for the engine that we also don't get in the states. it's not indicative that the vehicle is ill equipped.
Darryl Henry Thank you for sharing that, Darryl Henry. We appreciate it when the community is able to answer questions that we are unable to. And thanks for watching, too!
Wow, i love it
would u buy this over a Dodge journey
Nice review
Thank you, Richard Acquah! We appreciate your comment. Thanks for watching!
question, it has a timing belt or timing chain?
A different video on the same car said it has a chain.
Good review.
Thank you, SJLGG!
Great honest in your face review. In your face, no bs.
Make it awesome next time and leave out any engine revving.
I have mechanical sympathy and that bothers me.....
Yeah I know....
what if the nearest dealer is 70 miles away for warranty repair?
Believe it or not, we know people who do just that, biukucanoe, but in many cases it is with higher-end brands that will pick the car up for you. We admit, it does make things a bit more challenging, especially for routine maintenance/service/dealer visits, but if that's the closest dealer to you, sometimes that's a decision you have to make. Maybe compare the pros and cons with a 2nd choice vehicle that has a dealer near you and see which one outweighs the other. We wish you well with your decision-making process. Thanks for watching!
These are a very good deal, we were looking at $18,000 for 2016 with 8,000 miles and could get brand new clearanced ones for $20,000 that was nicer than $25,000 CR-V in April. This is ranked low by some magazines, but it looks nice outside and inside and drives well, but we were turned off by 70 mi drive to dealer - our city does not have Acura or Lexus either. Since we drove that one I notice we drive by one of these rigs about 2 times a day so other people in town don't mind as much. The 4 seemed better than either crV, Venza or Sorrento, and has emergency 3rd row.
Mitsubishi make the best 4wd and makes more EV cars than Tesla and Nissan combined. I have a Delica Mitsubishi 4wd van (check out the videos on youtube for 4wd Delica) its a diesel and gets me averagr 37 mpg highway and 26 city.
Same engine since 2007?
this video is selling me this car
Happy we could help, bahhaziz. Thanks for watching!
