When you're able to choose a different recolour from the same source, like netherwing drakes, everyone knows "Oh this guys is exalted with the netherwings wow!". That's fine. But when you get recolours from different sources that are so different in difficulty, you won't stand out as a player and your achievement is deminished. For example in WoD you were bombarded with boar mounts from all different sources. So no one cared about the boar mounts that were actually pretty rare and hard to get.
I think the best example of recolours are the Wrath proto drakes, they all had significantly different colours that allowed you to know where each one came from

And for the spider, it was a dogshit idea from blizzard to use such a basic spider skeleton for such a gold investment, because it does feel like shit to invest in it to see many other looking even better introduced in another xpac for maybe an easy farm for example. It's about the long term thinking, and blizzard truly suck at that. They're not even trying to create interesting ways for people who hoard gold like crazy to spend their money, and let too much bots inflate the amount of gold in the pockets of players. If they took care of that, the game wouldn't have those controversies to begin with.

So since I know nothing tell me the connections I’m missing that weren’t added in bfa.
Joseph Halbohn there have been console mods for years, it’s been doable since mop (maybe earlier that’s just when I became aware of those mods) it’s not a case of making it simple it’s a case of blizzard just implementing those mods for the console version and releasing it
