Singing aside, what an awesome person. Mandy, hats off to you. You're such a beautiful and inspiring person, not to mention very, very wise. My very best to you not only in the AGT competition but your whole life.
Mandy, perhaps your new dream could be an inspirational speaker. Because anyone who walks the talk, and has truly been there done that; you are a driving force. Thank you for being you.
Gawwwwwd, I love her!!!! Her motivation, determination, strength, bravery, beauty, adaptability.... Her absoluckingflutely incredible talents... Phew, SO inspiring!!! Here's hoping you just keep on going & doing whatever makes you happiest, Mandy... (as someone who was a music major in voice, myself.. wayyyyy back when) You ROCKED that stage & are killing it. (I mean, not to mention your amazing name, on top of everything!!!! ;) tee-hee) So, you GOOO, girl.... huge props to you!! ((wave/clap... wave/clap)) =)
But you are a teacher, Mandy, to millions all over the world. You teach us not only how to survive the death of our heart's desire, but how to resuscitate it. And you ARE a singer, with the most beautiful voice - pure & tremulous. And an artist that creates powerful songs.
People like you, Mandy, give many people lost, hope, to find faith, again, whatever faith for them should mean. Because without faith, we'd all be lost. Thank you.
Mandy, you are an amazing inspiration. You are proof that anything is possible. Also your singing voice is beautiful even not taking into account your hearing loss.
Mandy I myself am very inspired in your life ,and your over coming your deafness. The Love you have for God,and the joy you have for people. The Joy of the Lord is our strength.Thank you Mandy. I wish you the best.I will forever be your follower.I wish I was as humnle as you.I love you Mandy Harvey and will pray for you. You are my shinning star.
"The day the music died." Interviewer said a few times. Imo, if music is only sound, then perhaps music has died for Mandy. But imo, music is also vibration, sensation, emotion, lyrics, thoughts, expression, sensitivity, beauty, love, inspiration - and if this is true, then (it seems to me that) her life is filled with more music now than before her hearing loss. She's certainly filled OUR lives with more beautiful music.
What a lovely lady, I know what she must have went through as I have tinnitus! It is like having 100 budgies in your ears all day 24/7, but then for the nerve to give up must have been hell for her! But with being deaf, at least she has the budgies out of her head! Good luck Mandy, we all hope your life will be so much brighter!! We ALL love you and your singing talent!
It saddens me that so many people will just at the chance to watch a cat video instead of watching this lovely young lady talk about her journey. God bless you.
Good interview. Mandy, when you mention about sign language in English/ASL mixed, it is called SEE or PSE. I use SEE/PSE. Just like what you use. Just helping out what it is called! ;-)
I almost lost faith in people like this woman existing in today's world. Mandy is incredibly poised, talented, grounded and wise for a woman her age. She has taken a hardship and setback most people would wallow in self pity and turned it into inspiration for herself and the world.
That's not how learning a language goes.... So what you're saying is like "if I listen long enough to Spanish/Chinese/whatever language i can make out an entire conversation
Helena that's quiet different dear.if I can't understand what they are saying then I can't compare word's to each other.but here you can here what she's saying and associate the sign with the word.for instance after watching Mandys songs I know making a circle (with pointer finger and thumb)with both hands and having them locked can mean both "chained" or "trapped" breaking the lock can mean "release" or "let go" it's quiet easy to associate a sign with the word being said because I understand what she's saying.a foreign language I wouldn't understand what's being said
Helena if she wasn't talking while signing then yes it would be impossible to learn it.but the fact that she talks out the sign makes it quiet easy to compare
your talking about nature there is always the spring after a hard winter,,,,happy after the blues you know your going to wake up after a deep sleep thats the pattern, dont get stuck on the negitive
Mandy is great, the interviewer with her stupid questions about god just messed up the deal. The idea of god is not fitting with "the concept of god" as Mandy said. Hey, She is great because of what she has done herself to be successful. Don't ruin it by throwing the good thing into it. She is doing the whole effort herself. Deal with it. Good for Mandy!
interesting post production fade of focus on the drums.. fake. shame that when her sign language crosses that fade line, her hands go out of focus. how about just a better video interview setup to allow her full use of her space.
Oh I just love her! She is such an amazing inspiration! What a great gift of God to this world she is!!!
i just realized how wise she is.
Cheers for the interviewer. She was amazing and incredibly respectful!
Beautifully graceful, wise with true faith.
Singing aside, what an awesome person. Mandy, hats off to you. You're such a beautiful and inspiring person, not to mention very, very wise. My very best to you not only in the AGT competition but your whole life.
excellent commentary, no pity, directly addressing the issue and admitting God is your backbone. thank you Ms. Harvey.
I never write anything on RUclips video but you made me to do Mandy. You're so inspirational. Keep doing what you have been doing for His Glory.

agreed, the signing should show prominently on the interview.
Her right ear is always exposed she's legally deaf but cant faintly faintly hear
