I am from India and I am in 9th class. In our English textbook, Ch-2 "The sound of the music" Part-1 is dedicated to you. I have read that chapter many times and each and every time I wonders how much passion you have for music and most importantly where from you got this huge inspiration. Well for now you yourself is a inspiration for many. Percussionist James Blades has said right - "God may have taken her hearing but he has given her back something extraordinary. What we hear, she feels, far more deeply than any of us. That is why she expresses music so beautifully." HATS OFF TO YOU

Hi Evelyn ma'am in India your biography is there in 9th class English The sound of music and it's very inspiring that if a person is disabled or is perfect can do anything thanks for being inspiring for everyone 😊
This was a great demonstration . Evelyn's application on the large mallet creates the most amazing tones. I learn just by watching her to put life into each movement.

You are really great mam hats off to you mam. God never gives stage to those who never strive to get it. You made it possible mam. I will also soon make it possible with your inspiration. I'm retiring now and looking bach of a lot of student who I also guided and teached on drums. So I would asked you; have you ever seen the presentation of the vibrations of a snaredrum performed by Mike Mangini? (see at 4:18 hours) For me its amazing and unbelievable. Also the vibrations of a cymbal ( see at 4:53) I hope you have time to see those vieuwings. In respect and honneur, Toon Oomen.

When searching up about Evelyn, I saw she began to lose her hearing at 8 and lost it fully at 12. I've always been under the impression that people who are deaf usually lose a lot of their ability to speak due to it being more challenging and being incapable of hearing what you or others are saying/ sound like. Watching this was absolutely miraculous because I've never seen someone who is deaf communicate so clearly. Does anyone know how Evelyn was able to speak so fluently?
I adore this kind of experimentation. I am trying to get my students to play like this with what we have in our classroom, as we are working on creating Soundscapes based on memories, impressions, and "photos" of moments to do with winter. Getting them to associate feelings, moods, colors, textures, etc. with particular sounds and then being able to describe that is the first set of skills we are working on, then moving to composing to match what they want to express. Thank you for taking the time to show lots of variations and options with just one instrument and just the few other objects you introduced into the vibrations. 🥰
