This Is Probably My New Favorite Loop Hike in New Hampshire! | the Baldface Loop (Plus Extra Peaks!)

- I can't believe it took me this long to do this hike in New Hampshire, but I am so happy I finally did it! Today, I did a 12 mile loop in New Hampshire covering the peaks Eagle Crag, North Baldface, South Baldface and Eastman Mountain. All 4 of those peaks were part of the 52 with a view list, which I was able to cross off! That leaves me with only 10 peaks left, which I can hopefully finish by the end of the year.
This hike starts in Chatham, NH and I took the Baldface Circle Trail, Baldface Knob Trail and Slippery Brook Trail.

1:36 - Taylor, nice frog slo-mo ..LOVE IT
Very cool!
Nice to see a video of you hiking again.
Some days you are the hiker some days the frog 😂
😆😆😆
That clip of the frog is hilarious 😂
Love the added drone shots. Thanks for taking us along and continuing to vlog your adventures. 😊
Great video. Beautiful views. Safe travels.
Great to see you!
Good for you! Glad you chose to continue to number 4.
Can’t believe I missed this. Great hike and good job pushing yourself. I might have to try this after I complete the 48. Thanks for another great video.
Good to see you again
I love that loop!
This is on my saved list of hikes!
Thank you so much for posting this hike! I hope to get back to the whites someday soon!
Good to see you again. I think that frog was drunk!
Hey Miss Taylor...great to see you again!!!
I hope all is well with you personally and professionally. I can't wait for AT - Part 2 -
Duncans...I was worried there for a few minutes when I didn't the the DD bag... LOL. Well take care and enjoy...
Love this trip report style of video! Thanks for continuing to vlog.
My fave . I like it more then F Ridge. Less crowded
Thanks for sharing this hike. That video of the frog was great.
Hey Taylor, it was cool running into you on North Baldface! Seeing you in 3 dimensions was a trip. Love your videos, keep up the good work.
Loved the video. Thank you.
Woo hoo; that's my old stomping grounds (I spent 14 summers on Kezar Lake right near there in Lovell, ME) ... definitely take a short side trek to Emerald Pool from the trail is AWESOME!!! There is so much out there in that part of the state and western Maine; anything right along Route 113; Basin Rim and West Royce, Meader, Speckled Peak, and Caribou.
Hey Taylor, agreed that's a great hike. I think my best part of that loop is the the dip at Emerald Pool. Thanks for the video! Nice to see you pick up Eastman too. I had to go back for that one.
Thanks for sharing ! Looks like a beautiful hike
That is one of the best day hikes of all time. Thanks for sharing.
EPIC frog fail!!!🤣Beautiful hike.
T, another super hike. Another for my to-do list😊
Hi Nahamsha! - what a beautiful land up there! Äm an old Rocky Mountain Hike Rat, making me homesick. Thank you for taking us along! ☮️
Great hike with stunning views. That’s great you did the last up hill. Thank You I truly enjoyed it
Hello Taylor, it's good to see you again. Extra nice video and beautiful views. ❤ Hope to see you again soon. Enjoy your home time. ;)
Great hike, so glad you continued on to the 4th summit. Hope your feet did not have too many blisters. Thank you for inspiring me to get out and hike tomorrow.
What a great video! You are truly amazing! A beautiful New England day!!! I’m so glad I met you and mom this summer! I look forward to your vlogs all the time.
This should be on everyone's fave list. It's just magical (and delightfully out of the way). And I love the toad fail at 1:37 (it's hysterical when animals screw up.)
Great to see you back on trail. That’s some beautiful territory you covered.
Great video! You should look into the Ossipee 10. Remnants of an ancient volcano and they come with a patch after you complete them too!
Very nice video of this hike. That frog was hilarious!! Thanks.
I will have to make plans to do those mountains the views were fantastic. I would love to see you do imp view and pine mountain.
The views are amazing! Thanks for sharing. 😊 And yes! I am ready for fall!
Haha my husband and I just hiked Eastman Mountain yesterday! #34 for us of NH52WAV. We still need the Baldfaces and Eagle Crag, so will be returning for that hike. We live about an hour and 50 minutes away. Definitely would’ve been more convenient to snag all four in one hike, but we didn’t have 12 miles in us. 😂 It’s a lovely area, though, so we’re excited to return!
Gorgeous day and hike and hiker :) That poor little frog seemed to make it...
beautiful views!
Doing a solo pemi loop this weekend my first backpacking hike
You are brave to discuss your gots and forgots. Video was great. Thanks!👍
was good to see you what an awesome hike
Did the two Baldface Loop years ago, excellent hike!!!
Do boot spur to Davis Path to Isolation to Glen Boulder
Nice hike and nice views!
I’ve missed your vlogs. That was a nice hike. September is just around the corner. 😊
Baldfaces are spectular!
Nice video with lots of great beautiful views, when are you going back to the AT, so let's keep on hiking 😊
Beautiful!!! Love those views!!
Taylor that was a beautiful hike.. So well filmed & edited and narrated too!😊🗻🏔️🐛🐸💨💨💨
Hi Lee ... what's going on kiddo ?
Hey George! It’s good to hear from ya! All I’m doing is trying to stay cool lol how are you?
@@leedanielson7452 40 days into training for NYC Marathon .. which is getting hard when your 66 yrs old ..the weather has been fantastic up here in August (shockingly, not had a 90 degree day) ... not sure if you have TikTok but I'm vlogging my training on a daily basis @WhyGeorgeRuns
I often push my hikes to include all the extra connecting spurs, while I’m all the way out there!
Try running twice a week for 30 mins each time in the woods or around a lake (not on street, sidewalk, or paved road) your feet will never hurt after a couple months and none of these trails in nh outside huntington and a couple others will be challenging... at least that was my experience. Great videos!
Remember the 10 essentials.
we hiked it last year for a friend's finish. We did 3 and did Eastman separately but my friends did all 4
Good to see you Taylah! What an incredible loop trail. The views were amazing, and the weather was fabulous! Glad you hit Eastman while you were in the territory. Hope your feet didn't blister too badly. Take care Nahamsha ✌️
Ugh the book is sold out!! I need a copy!!!
I'm so jealous! I wanna do all these hikes. I need to get my butt to NH. Love your videos. They are very inspirational ❤
That poor frog. He must have had a little too much to drink. Do you use a glass protector on your phone? If so, did that get damaged instead of your phone? I go through those things on the regular. What a great hike. Thanks for sharing.
Great hike! Need to head to there for Fall views. Are there camping spots along the loop? All trails didn't show any type of shelters that I see. Anyone following know this answer?
Thank you for bringing us along on your hike today. I’m a (re)newer hiker and recently started using trekking poles. So new (and old!) that I have been going on short hikes specifically to practice getting the rhythm down. 😂😂😂 I look forward to hearing your review about the watch!! Amazing!
🐸
Taylor!Taylor!Taylor! Where in the world have you been? I’ve been missing you and your videos sooooo much!!!😳😞☹️😩😢😭❤
You probably already know this, but due to the severe weather a month or so ago, she decided to get off trail until September. She will finish her thru hike at that time. 😊
@@christyjohnson4563 Thanks! Yes I’ve followed Taylor for years now. Can’t wait till September!!!
@@leedanielson7452I'm wondering where Stella is? 🤔 (Stella hikes). Any ideas?
@@agnesskibicka No idea! She hasn’t made any videos at all in like three weeks… I’m kind of thinking she’s in love, and we all know that can be quite time consuming…😝❤️🥰😍😘
@@leedanielson7452 hope that's true and not troubles. I enjoyed her post AT, vlogs :)
Sometimes I feel like I shouldn't wear headphones because it takes away one of the sensory experiences of being in nature. Just the sound of the wind blowing through the trees can be so beautiful!
Hi there! I just started watching your channel, and maybe you have answered this before, but how does safety work on the trails? I’m watching your Appalachian Trail video and the crime Junkie in me just worries for hikers! Especially when they are alone and vulnerable.
It still bothers me that you didn’t mention the ledge scrambles(T25)on this hike. I did this loop about a week before this video. I loved it too!
I didn't know the ledge scrambles were part of T25
When I was up there in 2019, I hiked two trails off the Kancamangus Highway. One was the Champney Falls Trail, which was very nice.
Hiked 11 miles this week too ! Osseo trail to Mt Flume! Have u done that trail?
Nice hike! Yes I've done it. There's a video 😄
Have you ever considered guiding trips? I know there is a lot that would be involved but I would think you would be great at it.
ooh nooooooo, froggie!!! 🫣 --buddy, there's an easier way! 😢 nice to see you back on the trail, taylor, and having such a great, DRY day! how the heck did you even capture froggie's rollover? love it, what a moment! 🥴 (having the hardest time posting this --what the cuss! 🤣)
Nice hike and very beautiful area. Your a favorite on my hiking videos I watch. You articulate the hike very well.
I'm ready for Fall if only we could skip Winter and right to Spring.
Just did this same loop three days ago for my second round of the 52WAV. I don't understand about the hot spots on your feet. Don't you wear two pairs of socks, a liner and an extra cushion pair of Smart Wool socks.? I've always wore two socks and never get hot spots/blisters. Try it.
Gorgeous looking place bud, you filmed this so nicely! Absolute perfect weather for filming! 👏👏
Taylor awesome loop. On another note. My wife and I went to Maine for a few days last week. Based on where we were camping we chose a hike. Yes … up to Bemis from Bemis rd. Didn’t realize until we got to 2nd peak….this was the place.
You way undersold the climb up to get cell service and back down. Of course we are 60 but still the rock ledges and as wet as they would have been for you. 🙄🙄
You were a Champ….now go own that trail when you return.
BTW Bemis rd the opposite direction namomsha came to you is still out.
Nice hike!! Yeah that was treacherous! But I was in survival mode and basically ran up the whole mountain haha. Can't wait to go back :)
I just got back to Virginia from hiking Baldface and Katahdin, literally can't believe our doing a video on the Baldface loop.
Good to see your hike. I wish we had hills here. No signs of Fall in New Orleans.
did you do the ledges?
Loved this video 💞 it was so fun meeting you yesterday taylor 💗
Does this count toward finishing your AT hike? ;-)
Good to see you out again. I’m totally jealous of your weather, at my house (Texas) it is 104 F and I don’t have a clue about the heat index but it’s more than I want to be outside hiking.
Dang we wanted to do this hike this weekend but the weather isn't good enough. Had to cancel campsite. Now that you showed us how nice it is we will do it for sure! Thanks for the always great content!!!
Awesome video Taylor. I’m curious if these trails are blazed or if you follow cairns? Thanks and happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
whens monadnock?
Made the mistake of not packing tape myself, and ended up rolling my sock down to double over my heal. Worked for a short term solution.
I think there's a shelter on that loop for slow hikers who want to make it an overnight
1:37 That poor frog looks like he might have given himself a concussion.
Would something else you did right on the hike be take your Garmin inReach? If not, why not? Explain yourself.
Super video, Taylor. Well planned, well shot, well edited, well worth the watch. See you next time.
Hi Taylor, what are the name of the headphone that you were using when hiking the AT? Thanks
First 😜
Congrats! You were quick!😂
@@leedanielson7452 17seconds but who's counting 🤔
@@jenspencer9906 🤣
Welcome back! Been meaning to get up there myself!! Hope you finish your list. 🏔🏔
