Nice video, Craig! What do you think about labor economists devoted to macro issues? That is, those who study labor markets from a perspective of business cycles and/or search and matching in the labor market? Do the same characteristics that you attributed to labor economists apply to this subset that I'm speaking of?
Great question! One of my macro professors was a labor economist. Many government organizations want macro/labor economists, and you could probably even find some interest from online labor markets like Fiverr or Indeed.
I'll have to do my econometrics video sooner rather than later. In my advice for classes I talk a little about econometrics: ruclips.net/video/donLTX-OQRg/видео.html
I took a course in labor econ, when I was going to college. It was quite enlightening. Money and banking, labor econ, and game theory are the big ones for me. On a more basic level, understanding praxeology underpins it all. If you don't have a sound base, the rest falls apart.
I promise you graduate students in economics don't care about which elective courses produce the greatest value to them personally but are more concerned with finding the path of least resistance to graduation.
I've ended up commenting alongside you guys, bc of a massive rabbit-hole of debates re the ideal pathway for social progression- and complimenting economic strategy. I'd like open the following proposal to everyone regardless of agreeable opinion. I'm from the UK, and my mother had a scholarship to study health economics at the star of the 80s at HBS. Therefore, my business upbringing has always been influenced by hyper-aggressive methods that reflect that era. In the US currently, there seems to be an overwhelming amount of societal activity, and private business owners have taken the brunt of the outrage and destruction that is probably best reserved for biased/corrupted services like local police. Do you think there should be such aggression replicated by these employers, who will eventually be the backbone of American economic recovery?
Good video, I´d never heared about this field of economics. There´s no much material about it in Spanish; therefore, I´ll take advantage of it to produce the greatest value. Good video, could you please talk about R and Python for economics, I don´t know which choose to begin with :(.
Labor and Public are like that couple at school that is overly affectionate. They are distinct fields, but you always see them together. Most economists who specialize in Labor will also say they specialize in Public.
Sir, I want to study economics and want to go abroad for studying. But I have no idea where to start to reading economics as a beginner? Can you tell me this!! Please
@@manuelvalenzuela6641 well yes, but they are not the books I would recommend for a beginner, they are very interesting when you have all the context of the author's period and some knowledge in modern economy because large portions of those books are not really relevant today
Yes, definitely labour economics is the best field. Currently i'm working in a paper where we try to estimate the causal effect of collective bargaining in the fall of wage inequality here in Uruguay. Keep going with this videos, you really inspire us!
Just got my masters in econometrics and quantitative economics and Labor Econ was by far my favorite class 💕
Congrats on getting your degree!
Can you help me in studying economics
You should have seen the smile on my face when I saw Scott Cunningham at 5:26!! Go Dawgs!!
Currently taking macroeconomics and I am so hook up with this class that I’m adding it as a second major. 👽♥️♥️♥️
Looking forward to a video on MMT
I want to do one, and I've started researching, but I want to make sure it's good. I don't want to misrepresent anything.

Can you make one of these videos for urban economics?
am waiting for a video on agricultural economics

I'm an economics student and next semester I'll take labour economics. Please keep making these videos they're extremely insightful.
Good luck with the class! I loved my labor classes.

really looking forward to finishing off my degree this fall--labor economics is my number one concentration in economics right now here in Tennessee
Wonderful editing work.
Perfect timing, I'm taking Labor Economics over the summer! Also interested in Public Finance, Money and Banking, and Natural Resources Economics 🙌
I have a business major and I am seriously thinking on doing a masters in economics, partly thanks to your inspiration! Keep it up!
That's very kind of you to let me know!
I've been looking for books on Labor Economics that are not textbooks! Thank you so much!
I hope you enjoy them!

Need more suggestions of books on labor economics. Very little suggestions on labour economic books on the net.
Could you please talk about health economics or applied microeconomics?
Can you talk about agriculture & resource economics or applied economics?
Lol behavioural economics states that we are not rational beings
thanks for making this. makes the econ world less scary

I'd go with Python because the skills are more general. In fact, R will let you use Python in it.
What about Public Economics? I've been seriously considering going for it.
Labor and Public are like that couple at school that is overly affectionate. They are distinct fields, but you always see them together. Most economists who specialize in Labor will also say they specialize in Public.
what an ingenious video editing
I actually agree about labor economics. It has always been my top interest but no one agrees with my love for it
I was surrounded by labor economists as an undergraduate, so I feel it's in my blood.
Thank you so much sir for this vedio. Now I am clear about subjects like health economics and gender economics 🙏
Ah, I totally forgot to include gender economics! That was born out of labor economics.
@@MarketPowerYT thank you so much sir❤

if you can explain why finance is the best field of economics?
