Thank very much, I'm going to try this on my lovely AEG Perfect iron, I'm horrified that it's stopped working, can't splash out another £300 or £400 on a new one. I thought the filter was looking after it, so I'm cross with myself that I haven't run cleaning fluid or white vinegar through it before. Cheers.
In the end, this didn't really work for me, as the innards on my iron was more complicated, but it did inspire me to clean the inner tubes, as 1 was somewhat blocked. That didn't work, but over the course of a month I put white vinegar & lastly a citric acid & water solution through it and magically after a long wait it started to work again.
