Okay, Ledecky is a beast in the water but can we talk about Penny Oleksiak, she's was literally a 16 year old in high school and got 4 medals in her first olympics, more people should take notice of her she is absolutely incredible!
Adam Peaty is a freak of nature. I genuinely don't understand how he's able to pull away so easily from the pack. In the relay he caught up like it was nothing.
@@charlottem6306 You're so lucky! I've got a Chad Le Clos one and a few photos from Argentinian swimmers 💖 Ps: I also got a like from Maya Dirado, does that counts 😂?
That final 4x100m medley is absolutely one of the most competitive things you'll ever see. Kyle Chalmers swam 46.72 and Nathan Adrian dropped a 46.74 in his leg doing 100M freestyle. The world record for men's 100M freestyle is 46.91. I guess they don't count as 100M WR since it's in a relay.
It isn't counted because the swimmers are allowed to be in motion before the time is started. While in a flat start 100m freestyle the time to get off the blocks is usually around .6 seconds, this is trimmed down to .1-.2 off a relay start. This is combined with the momentum gained from a step up start rather than a static start.
Thanks for uploading these races. Would have loved to see more of Hosszu’s IM, her fly is exceptional. Ledecky’s strength and stamina are just incredible, no one even comes close in those distance events.
A lot of swimmers construct their pace based on the length of the race. Those other girls might have focused more on stamina than speed, if the race was 50m or 100m the pace of the other girls would be different hands down.
I feel the womens 100m was overlooked a bit. A tie for Gold between the first African American woman to win gold individually and the 16yo Canadian tieing for 1st breaking the OR EDIT: I wasn't referring to your list. It was very well done, and the best and most amazing swim races of the Rio Olympics were featured.
Well yeah. Of corse Katie Ledecky is in this. SHE ALWAYS WINS!! You know you don't have to put her in this video lol. She's so fast that you could have all of her events and put them together and she'd win all them.
Give Ervin a Dressel start and he's challenging the 21 second barrier. For pure speed, Fratus has taken on that mantle, but nobody can challenge the Dressel start/speed combo.
I agree. Ervin always start off slow but once he hits the water, he is unstoppable. It's always fun to watch all of these amazing sprinters like Dressel, Ervin, and Fratus race.

22:50 ' 16 years on he wins the Gold again, 16 years later he wins the Gold again!' That's why Phelps will definitely be back in 2020. If Ervin can win individual Olympic Gold 16 years apart you know Phelps will try to match that in 2020, he's just that intensely competitive.
This was the most exciting Olympic Swim Meet ever, at least if you were from the US! The only race in which a US swimmer didn't make the top 4 was the 200 breaststroke (unfortunately our star in that event, Micah Lawrence, didn't make top 2 at Trials). There were a lot of other exciting races that could have made this list. Thanks for this enjoyable swim down memory lane! ;-)

Yes, I agree but there have been other swimmers younger than her that have gotten more medals.
Ok absolutely true but let’s talk about Summer McIntosh, 14 years old and has qualified for Tokyo!

she has own so much subatce every one is a cheater 🤷♂️
My coach always says “if you’re watching someone during your race you’re gonna watch them beat you”
Madeline Mealey that's awesome.... I gonna use that to motivate myself!😄
What does this mean?
Jesús García Probably just a way to say you shouldn't look at the other swimmers, and just swim...
Sigurd Vickery I see, I’ll take use of it, thanks!

wondering what song was ledecky thinking😊
Maybe Thunderstruck, is one of the best songs to swim 😊(at least for me)

I've watched that relay so many times and this was the first time I saw that. Thanks
Cody Miller is me after I win any metal LOL. He’s so happy and content with 3rd place!
3rd at the Olympics is no joke. Anyone should be celebrating.

As you should!
Getting any form of top 3 is an achievement, even more so in the Olympics

Who else would do anything to be Katie Ledeky’s counter?
Unbelievable. Anthony Ervin at 35. Ledecky destroying the field. And Phelps dominating the 200 IM a 4th time!

Yup, the video of London 2012 is coming soon.
Thanks but this time can you do 5 men and 5 women races.
does Ledecky ever get tired in these marathon races? I mean, the 800m race was pretty much decided after 200m.....just amazing stamina.

I just love it in the relay when you think another team is going to win then you see Michael Phelps

What was his first 50 split do you know?
Bilbo_Swaggins 23.48 if i calculated it correctly

Why so many commercial breaks?.... there were close to a dozen commercials in this 30 minute clip!!!
Because the videos belong to the IOC and they monetize them.
I have this though quite a bit, ‘What happens is I do lose?’ But that only motivates me to go even further and push new limits.
I thought that the 100m mens was pretty good. The winner Kyle Chalmers was like last at the 50m mark and then shot up straight to first by the end!
