    2:00 - One error I made is routing the first kick channel to 1/2. This will split the signal to the kick track to the Master Bus which we don't want, you may prefer to route the kick and kick trigger both to 3/4 (most people seem to mix them all together anyway), and don't route any instrument track specifically from Invasion to 1/2

    Thank you for the video! I'm very very very new to this, I've never programmed a drum track before. I have Reaper and GGD Invasion. I followed the video exactly. Do you have a video where you walkthrough composing the drum, like beat by beat? Thank you for your time.

    Bro the damn routing does not work , all the output comes to st.1 regardless of what i do

    So the midi lives on it's on seperate channel underneath a channel with invasion? I put the midi right in the channel that has invasion. Is there a reason I shouldn't?

    Great video, but one question: What is exactly the function of the drumcomp track and how do you route it?

    • @athan5019
      @athan5019  3 года назад +2

      Hey man it's a track where I send all the drums tracks into it and then do a lot of fast release compression. Then I blend it with the rest of the drums. When I a full mix, you lose a lot of the dynamics and depth of drums. So this is to heavily compress and boost a lot of what I'd lose. But if I did it straight on the drums then they would sound too compressed themselves. Almost any Nolly mix I've seen he'll have a track with that setup

    Did you use an audio interface for this to achieve zero latency whilst playing with e kit and recording in real time? Because I use a usb from my Roland TD-17KV directly to my laptop and wtill experience lag when trying to record with Invasion. I've tried adjusting the buffering size and block size and other stuff, but it never works.

    Ascending output isn't assigning my tracks 1/2, 3/4, 5/6. Where am I going wrong!?

    • @athan5019
      @athan5019  3 года назад +1

      On the Invasion page where you can see the image of the full kit, you may have the output set to stereo. You'll wanna select one of the other options

    Cool mate. Just one thing.
    I did this in one project and the drums is load and clear.
    Then I did the same thing on another project and drums volume is way too low.

    Wish you showed how to set up your initial tracks in Reaper.

    • @athan5019
      @athan5019  3 года назад +1

      Pre-routing there's nothing special to them. I literally just made as many tracks as I needed and then used the little function in the bottom right corner (on the track boxes on the left - not in the mixer) to move them in and out of folders.

    I appreciate the guide! I will comment that I think your drums sound a bit too room-y overall. :)

      Cheers. Yeah I agree. This is a re upload from an old channel from last year. Smash n Grab + a few Nolly vids = much better sounding drums 🤘

    Is it possible to use purchased midi packs in GGD, set up and mix a full drum track WITHIN GGD, and simply drag the finished product to your DAW? From what I can see, simple editing like reverb, panning, and attack can be done within GGD. So if that is all I require for a quick scratch track, can't I do a simple layout, drag and drop? Or must I route everything to my DAW in a long winded pocess that I simply don't need?

    • @athan5019
      @athan5019  3 года назад

      Yes you can. This is 1 way on how to set it up if you want to mix with plugins. Keep in mind once you set it up you can just copy and paste for a new project so it's only really routing it the one time. And you can make it more simple too such as just sending all the toms to one track, all the cymbals, oh and rooms to once track etc. Reaper is particularly flexible with routing. Your suggestion, and mine, will all work. Happy mixing :)

      @@athan5019 Ah ok thanks. I’m actually a reaper user so that helps. I’ll totally go through an initial routing setup if it’ll make use ability to smoother in the future. If you could recommend any decent instructional videos I’d be grateful. Thanks

      I don't feel templates help me to learn so I wouldn't teach others that way :) especially when it's not a super complicated or detailed process
