    . One of the best tools you can have as a professional paint enhancement/correction specialist to save yourself time and money. This will save you wear and tear on your pads and save you time swapping out polishing pads and having to clean them all after. I swear by this system after having tried it vs older methods.

    Great video Martin. One of the problems I have with the pad washer, while yes, they are definitely a useful tool (and I would love to have one too) is the fact they are made from very inexpensive plastics that probably cost the companies who make them about $10 total (and that's probably a high guesstimate) to manufacture. The bottom of these devices is a bucket that cost $4 at Home Depot. The plastic top and internal plastics is another $4. The rim plastic and other parts $2. Approximately $10 in plastic versus upwards of $200 to buy one depending on the place you get them. Even the low price with a deal can be $150. Hmmm......."Houston, we have a problem". I think these companies are capitalizing on the backs of detailers and enthusiasts around the world because only two companies make these type devices and it's a specific market for them. Sure, I totally get a mark up percent to profit, and agree with that 100%. The thing I don't agree with an upwards of 200% mark up. These should be about $50 to $75 in my opinion and the companies would still make a substantial profit. Now, of course the argument would come up "Well, we did research and development, marketing, and the free enticement giveaways that cost a gazillion dollars and we need to recoup that cost". If you believe that one......"There's a free trip to Disney's new theme park on the Moon I can get you really cheap!". LOL I certainly don't think they are cost effective for any enthusiast/weekend warrior who are only going to polish their paint once, MAYBE twice, per year. Professionals, without a doubt should have one of these devices and if I had a professional detailing business, I would definitely have one, no matter what the cost. Anyway.....these are just my own opinions of course and for anyone that want's one of these fine devices, please, buy two, my birthday is soon. 😁✌

      I agree manufacturing costs are low, however you have to remember R&D costs. These both appear to be patented designs that have not been largely copied. I imagine a lot of time went into development. This is lake country's 2nd iteration of their pad washer. I'm sure in time as these start to catch on, costs will go down. Any time a new and original patented product hits the market the costs are high as they attempt to recoup R&D costs. You can also get a good deal on these if you get them wholesale. It is a cost for those caring for their own cars. For us doing it professionally, this is paid for after 1 job.

      Why do you put so many spaces after your punctuation? I've seen your comments on several videos and they're a lot harder to read because of that.

      I also agree. The markup is just ridiculous for what you get. I just hand wash and blow them out. When the copies come out my money will go to China unfortunately.

      @@ddautodetailingthank you for the video. Question. I am new to polishing and so on. I am about to buy a machine and pads and so forth. When you’re done doing work with your pads. Is this cleaning system all that is needed to clean your pads when you’re done. Meaning once your done the work and you clean the pads with this bucket and you then store the pads. Do you do a wash in a washing machine like we all do for our microfiber towels or just this bucket and when they are done and they are dry you can then put them in your drawer.
      About the bucket. How do you clean it keep clean the edges of the bucket where all the junk sprays outward to the edges?
      How do you put the cleaner into the reservoir.
      Thanks.

    Detail Division and Detailed Image have the LC pad washer for $149.99. I love mine, but I’d suggest not using it with AIO polishes. 3D Speed got stuck in the nooks and crannies with mine and it took a while to get it all out. Ivan LaCroix suggests using it b/w section passes and I do this with firmer pads and Hyper Polish sometimes.

    Seems like a nice tool. If I wanted to make a poor man's version of this with stuff I already have, could I apply cleaning solution to the pad with a spray bottle, agitate on a grit guard on the ground, and then spin off in an empty bucket? Definitely not as smooth as an all in one unit but I think all the major components are there. Especially since the v1 pad washer's agitation surface looks like just a grit guard.

      Pretty much yea and that's what some people do. Just messy and not as efficient but it would work. And yea it is a grit guard with a little riased insert piece.

Thats what i use with mine as I never really used the stock ones it came with and the Makita ones last longer and their chargers are much faster than the SPTA. That was one of the reasons I went with it because I already had alot of Makita batteries.

    Can u use a lid on the 4000 like to cover after using?

    • @BelLavoroAutoSpa
      @BelLavoroAutoSpa  Год назад +1

      There is no lid that will fit it, however the clean and dirty water compartments are self contained, so the top of the unit where you clean the pads basically is the lid.
