I'm sure, you & the hubby will be able to create an organized solution once you are moved in, settled and spent some time taking care of them in the room. It will be fun to watch the Piggery evolve!

It will be strange not having them around all the time where you lounge at home, but I think it is better for piggie and life balance. Mine have always had their own room upstairs so that means my living area is always easier to keep clean and hay free. Much better if you want to have friends over. Sometimes I have the piggies in my bedroom for special sleepovers at holiday times, just so that I get more piggie love now and again 😀

Congratulations. I'm so happy for you. It took my husband and I eleven years to be able to get our own home. We kept telling our children, that when we got a house they could have a swing set in the back yard. By the time that happened for us they were too old for one. But our guinea pigs were able to go outside with supervision. I had to be careful that they didn't get overheated as it gets quite hot in the summer here in Utah.

Good luck with moving. I did the same 5 months ago, and for the exactl same reason. Its much Easier to keep clean, with pigs in their own room
