A little advice: one rule of thumb when you machine on the late, the sticking out of the work should not be more than 2 and ½ times of the diameter…( example if your work OD is 20 mm than the stick out should not be more than 50 mm) if you have to stick it out more, than you should support the end. This way you avoid deflection and chatter.
Nice work! How do you decide how wide/deep to make the hole for the O-ring? Like if you have a 1.5mm thick O-ring that's 5mm in diameter, what size groove would you choose to make for it? Is there a set way to decide that, or do you just guess? Thanks!
Well I am used to just playing around until it has a tight fit when inside the barrel chamber, because if I wanted to calculate it I would need too much more work... but Generally when for example a tube ID is 19mm, and I have an 18mm OD o ring with 2mm thickness, i would make the groove diameter just a tiny bit larger than 15mm, so it would have a tight fit.

thank you super video !
Very nice friend.

Nice
You should have used a live center I think, the workpiece bended all the time you were machining it.
It didn’t that much when I set it again

Novice here. Have any attempts been made to create a polygonal rifling set up?
Nope, I will try some reamer methods soon, 12 thin grooves and 6 wider grooves
