@danframpt0n I totally get u on so many bands I’m part of 90s scenes lol u sound just like me daily ranting about bands and I just today 2023 discovered this band I keep going further and further back in years BETTER and better I didn’t get too far after I started seeing they became industrialist I already knew the outcome bc of certain bands movements MUSIC execution! Quoting Tim Armstrong but with this band I loved the guitarist been a loooooonng time! I found them by looking up old school 90s ska moshing lol it used to be RUFF and I found this band and now what your saying!!!
This has me the most close minded thing I've seen in a while and this is what's wrong with punk rock and hard-core today. I thought the whole point of the genre was to push boundaries and be different not be stuck in a box. And moving forward with this thought, the outfits they wore to the Grammys, has to be the most punk thing they could've done. Punk is a state of mind, not a sound or fashion. And the new album is incredibly forward thinking it is just the thing that needs to be injected into the scene.
This is not only a punk rock and hard core thing brother. It happens almost on every underground mouvement that has a band or artist that has some mainstream exposure and changes his style. In music you find the same stupid gate keeping in Rap, metal, folk, and edm, etc etc
Glow On is great, I could honestly listen to more albums like that. I don't really care what they look like tbh, they can do what they want. I have been a fan since step to rhythm. They basically just grow up as I grow up and that's a really cool vibe to have with a band.
@@worldisfucked everyone and their grandma knows Less is More. Not my point. In any case I doubt that they'll live up to the success from Glow On being they fired the talent. The 70s porn cop mustache rythm player doesn't have the chops to even learn the lead parts properly lol. They sound terrible without Brady. And the reason behind the firing is enough to deter any real hardcore fan. Nothing special about this band, the singer can't even re create his vocal techniques on stage. Unoriginal, the only thing new is the Asian style samples being used.... not that creative, just stolen guitar sounds Van Halen wants his rig back.
Nah those people are the ones who comment on super famous songs saying that they're super underrated and they dont get how more people don't listen to them
Anyone saying "hardcore" sucks. Just another label for lanes. It's all just music, even if D-beat douches want to write "noize not muzak" because they are unoriginal trend followers.
This dude is cracked out of his mind! Freezing cold take. You really just want them to make the same album over and over again. That’s boring for us and especially for them. They rip and are actively progressing music.
All of my favorite punk bands changed by the time I got out of high school. That’s because playing hardcore is a creative dead end - unless you can blend it with something new.
stop trying to gatekeep great bands from the world. good music deserves to be heard by everyone. you shouldnt be mad that the masses are hearing them, and are being exposed to this genre of music . you should be happy about the exposure...only helps open the door for other bands. dont hate so hard man, there is so much room for more fans in a space that has been dwindling down slowly for years now. with that being said, i am so happy i was able to see them in small clubs while i could, because NOTHING will beat that.
shame brady’s left! remember seeing them kidna randomly at a festival absolutely blowing everything else out of the park playing like 3pm in a tent. brady was like a riff dictator.
turnstile is excellent from top to bottom, that's the take no one can accept. people can't stand that they are good, even if they're doing real/roots HC or merging into shoegaze/indie. bro, we are talking about music, I can't understand why "fans" keep protesting for less diversity in an artist catalog, the more diverse it gets the more interesting it is for me.
I hate "Scene" police. You'd rather see the band put out a few good albums ....then what? Break up because you dont want them to succeed. Bullshit take. Not for nothing but I was going to see Fugazi, Judge, Gorilla Biscuits, Bad Religion and The Descendents before you were born. The scene was around before you and It will be around long after you.
Easy bud. Whoa. Holy moly. Rude. How could you? Fool? Really!? oh my God. Talk about hurtful. Ouch. You really are just out here slinging pain. You cut deep, sir. I can see the bone. My soul might slip out. FOOL!!!?? Your words have power and you use them to tear people down. WOOOOOWWWW. You hurt my feelings, and now I'm SooOoOooOooOoo sad. I am their fan since Blink 182’s concert yesterday. Never heard them before and I was shock on the vibe and the music. They are continue to be alive as long as they are able to make new fans.
My only concern with them going forward has been the departure of Brady, being the primary riff-creator, and damn were those good riffs. Still don't know how that's going to work out.
Idk how you take the time to put this video together but fail to research why Brady left the band. Or you just decided to straight up leave it out. Top notch journalism here, or whatever you would call this….opinion column (vlog)?

I saw Turnstile in a VFW in 2013, I also saw Turnstile at Barclay Center in 2023 and they fucking ruled both times. You don’t have to like the band, ya also don’t have to make a video essay on why you hate one album and the way they dress. Seems a bit silly, but hey man, ya got me to watch it I guess
Idk they’re ok the early stuff was a little copy/paste even down to the album art-still fun tho & glow on is good. I wouldn’t call it a HC record or anything but do these labels really matter in 2023? I mean punk/HC bands have to take creative chances-good or bad-if they don’t wanna fall into Ramones/NOFX/Slayer territory of putting out the same record over n over again
If your gonna gate keep maybe at least have some taste. They’re breaking ground, and your stuck in the twilight. Stay with your bands that sound the same over and over, ima hitch a ride with turnstile and see new places of hardcore.
Dude they write great songs. First hardcore band to get mainstream clout. You guys who hate bands because they write music a lot of people like. They’re getting kids into hardcore. The youth today needs hardcore! Damn
Great album. Took me a second to get used to the new rules (heh) for their musical journey that they laid down, but I did. It didn't take long. Turnstile always had something different in its DNA from other hardcore music. Just sayin, Turnstile never was trying to be just Hardcore imo (besides Pressure to Succeed, maybe Step to Rhythm), but I don't really care about that. They get their message across, I feel their energy, and I appreciate their sound. That's what matters to me personally.
It’s a shame that I discovered those two EPs only a month ago, all because I canceled my apple music subscription and start listening youtube music where I initially found those, they were not available on apple music, at least in 2021, when I actively listened to them. When I started listening to Step 2 Rhythm I’ve got same feelings as when I listened to Converge’s Halo In Haystack for the first time, the same structure, instrumental intro track with breakdown that leads into another great track, just like Converge’s “Shallow Breathing” and “I Abstain”. Just amazing EP, “Better Way” is probably the best riffs from it, then I listened to the first EP and yeah, it was dope too, remind of all of my favorite hc bands like Incendiary, Expire, Drain, Buried Alive and early Converge of course. Before those EPs I thought Nonstop Feeling was their peak bounciness . But you know, I liked Glow On, it was the first album i heard from them, of course i hated “Underwater Boi” and “Alien Love Call” but the rest of the album is good, simply alt rock meets hardcore punk, kinda remind of what Snapcase did on End Transmission, but they were more Quicksand inspired I think. I completely agree with you that it would be a great loss if they start to play this boring indie stuff like on “Underwater Boi”, but of course we can still listen to old EPs and albums which are full of bangers, also we always have bands like Nails to headbang to our favorite caveman riffs =)
They want to make music that is fun and exciting to them. They don't need to cater to you or anyone else. Get over yourself man. Move on and enjoy the vibe they're flowing with.
None of the tui guys or any Baltimore hardcore outfit talk shit on turnstile they commend them for what they’ve done also brendan is the only person from tui in this band-freezer temp iq take tbh
They need to return to Pressure To Succeed & Step 2 Rhythm. Experimental shit was really good. But if they take it any farther it’s gonna go mainstream eventually it always does. This is just the first step. If u grew up in the diy hardcore scene in early 2000s then you should know this
I’m happy for them but a lil concerned what direction they may head in without Brady, the take offense dude seems aight. Would like a return to hardcore

Fuck that....Glow On is how I discovered Turnstile.
Nah, this ain't the take! Turnstile deserves all the praise and accolades. Glow On is a brilliant album and the more people that hear it, the better!
